But before it was pulled, it caught the fancy of Ty Oliver McDowell, a medical technician from Bar Nunn, Wyoming. He emailed a response, assuming he was speaking to the woman pictured with the ad. But according to police, it was actually Stipe pretending to be the woman. And he told McDowell she was looking for someone to fulfill a rape fantasy.

So a few days later, as she was returning home, McDowell attacked her from behind as she was unlocking the door. He shoved her into the house and wrestled her to the kitchen floor. The woman smacked him with a wine rack. So McDowell punched her in the nose.
He then bound and blindfolded her, held a knife to her throat, then raped her with both his penis and a knife sharpener.
McDowell and Stipe exchanged emails after the attack as well. Stipe asked him to provide details of the assault from start to finish.
Stipe, a Marine stationed Twentynine Palms, California, is now charged with conspiracy to commit sexual assault. McDowell, a medical technician, is charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault.
Didn't this happen on last season of Law and Order: SVU?

Posted 02/10/2010 at 07:45:51 PMI used to live in Casper, WY and I worked with Ty for 3 years. He seemed like a nice guy. Until this happened. It amazes me that a married, church-going man with 2 small children is capable of something so twisted. It sickens all of us. I read that at the arraignment on the 9th he pled "not guilty". So now, the court system can drag people out of their jobs to sit on a jury, listen to the testimonies and still give him life in prison where he belongs. He's already admitted that he did it. I'm guessing he pled to "not guilty by reason of extreme stupidity". I'm also guessing his parents are none to happy with him, because nobody's bothered to bail him outof jail since December when this happened. His wife packed up the kids the next day and left town. Smart woman.

But does anyone find it interesting that Stipe and McDowell exchanged emails discussing all aspects of the assault, yet earlier in the article Stipe says he thought he was communicating with the ex and was fulfilling her fantasy? That should have clued him in. Does anyone else agree?
Posted 02/12/2010 at 06:15:42 PM@ daisy I was actually being sarcastic about the whole ppl vs. people thing I do it myself sometime however the guy was commenting on people's grammar and typo's and made SEVERAl of his own. ABout what you said I thought the exact same thing at first it was like the guy thought he was actually talking to the girl, then the detail's got sketchy as to whether or not they "cooked" this up amongst the two of them (Stipe and McDowell)
