Most people have some sort of mental defect, whether they're bad at math, or they get lost easily, or they're absent-minded, or clumsy or whatever. All of these defects create hardship for the sufferers. Why do we only provide sympathy for those people who's defect gets an associated label? Like if someone gets pissed off and goes 'Oh I have a short fuse,' people look at him with scorn. If instead he says 'I have bipolar disorder,' suddenly its all "you poor baby" and whatnot. It's like laziness is bad, but laziness syndrome is okay?
