Tracy Branham Takes Revenge on School Bully's Mom, Ends Up in Jail

• It  does no good  to  go to the  school board because  they are for the  teachers  and not for the  kids. 

• Obviously you  don't have the  facts  about this.  You mentioned that  I marched in the  school   and  threatned  the  school  about letting my  son  parking in the  parking lot.  The  school  had said that he could not  park  in front of the  school, which I  had  informed them that  they  could  not  restrict him from parking in front of the  school;  the  street  does not  belong to them.  Also, about a basketball game I was not the  one  who was  cussing at the   cheerleaders,  it  was  actually  a pers0n  sitting behind  me.  Plus  the other schools principal  had  lied to the  police  saying I  pushed her when actually  the principal  got in my face and  grabbed my  arms.  It's  obvious  that  those who live in Apache Junction  are total trailer  trash. And my  son did not  paraded my nephrew  severel weeks,  my son  and nephrew were together that  day and   my son  took a  jacket  back to a kid at school, so it was not like  he was parading my  nephrew around. Your  comment  that  their are better moms, you  don't know  me  and you have no right  to  judge what kind of a  mom I am.  Just  so  you know all of my  sons  friends  have told my son that he is lucky  to have such a cool mom.  Plus  my  niecse, nephrews and  their  friends always  want me to  hang out  with.  I bet you  can't say that!!!! Next  time you  write  something about  a person get you facts straight!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had exactly the same thing happen to my son, and same response from admin, the principle even suggested that my son may be 'drawing unwanted attention to himself' because he is particularly smart!!! The bully (with 3 cohorts) then slammed my sons head into a metal pole, no major PHYSICAL damage (they also cussed him and poured soda over him at the same time and would corner him in the toilets, but the school didn't call me to bring him home early just made him ride the day out covered in soda and shame) but that was the end for me, I took him out of that school that day and put him in a new one, and 3 months later the bully was expelled and sent to the same school as my son where THIS principle sat my son (he KNEW why my son was transferred there) down with the bully and said if there was any 'fighting' he would suspend them both he didn't care who started it. (the same principle asked my daughter whose gifts are creative not academic like my sons "why she didn't spell as well as her brother" bloody idiot of a man) Fortunately my son's way out came in the form of a scholarship to a much much much better school that this bully can never attend (he isn't bright or well off) but the bully lives 3 streets away and he continued to harass and chase my son whenever he sees him out. I finally contacted youth community groups asking what to do and after 14 phone calls, was finally told to call the police. I have done so, and they have told us to report every single incident to them (and they asked for the bully's name, and here's a surprise, he and his family are notorious with the police, without even looking it up, the officer said is that in xxxxxx street, brother of xxxxx !!!) and on the first reporting they will talk to him, thereafter they will start to arrest him, and so the last time I saw this bully, I told him that after 2.5years of him abusing my son, I was now going to report him and his friends to the police, for every single thing he does to my son, every single time. (I didn't threaten him, I didn't set out to threaten him, I just stated it as a fact because I am hoping he will lay off my son know now that he knows this) Nothing has happened since then, but I don't doubt this bully will try again, and while I feel angry, everyone (including me) has kept telling my son not to retaliate so he doesn't get in trouble, so I would be a hypocrite AND setting a bad example, AND lowering myself to their level if I did lay into his mother, besides, this family has produced this son, a smack down from me would probably be a walk in the park to them! So no, I don't think she should have done it, but oh I can so understand why she did, but I hope someone STOPS looking at her actions (well reaction really) and actually helps this family. My son went to counselling for 8 months, stayed with my parents for 6 (they live local but further from the bully) but we got there in the end, now he seems to feel safer - not safe - but for any parent with a child being bullied, I would suggest the police (police youth liaison are great) if it is outside of school or the school isn't protecting your child sufficiently. DON'T let them tell you its part of growing up, it is abuse, and if the exact same actions were perpetrated on an adult arrest would be automatic, so demand the same for our children. AFTER I had spoken to someone supportive rather than dismissive of the problem, I felt better so took my son to meet that particular police officer and he felt much more reassured, and confident that someone has his back. Please, if its getting that bad, bypass the school go straight to the police, and good luck to all of you facing this horrid ordeal.

• As noted in the article, the little prick punched a smaller kid (what a courageous dude) until he stopped moving. I don't know why he gets any slack at all. Why do I suspect that if the littler kid had stood up for himself at all with a few return punches, zero tolerance would have popped up and both kids would have been punished? But if the kid gets away with it, Tracy has every right to be pissed. Chickenshit administrators and the bully's parents aren't going to discipline him, she oughta step in and tell the little bastard and her parents what she thinks of them. They're pieces of shit, and I won't defend them at all. And while we're at it, Branham should make her kids better at defending themselves. Put them in martial arts classes. And I'm not talking wimp shit like Karate or TKD; I'm talking Sambo, Muay Thai and Eskrima. Next time the bastard comes around, fuck his ass up. He won't mess with them anymore.

• Me personally I would have taken it up wth the parents when my child then myself couldn't get anything done and if speaking with the parents didn't help I would tell my child to do what he was taught then seriously cause problems for the school when they expelled my child. There have been 2 prior incidents of what I would call "minor Bullying" before this last one that left my son with a minor concussion. Would I curse the mom out? YOU BET! But she wont even answer the phone for mediation with the school, the other child and his mother and sheriffs department (oh and me and my son). Hows that for a screwed up system. Oh, and I'm flatly told they wont prosecute a 9yr old, but let me sucker punch that mother or give that bully a but whoopin that he needs and i'd be in the slammer for "assault". So I ask? Wheres the responsibilty? Not with parent. Not with the school. And certainly not with the bully who smirked at me as I walked my son to class, cause he knew that 3 days suspension was just a "vacation". Negligence? You bet ya? Has anyone taken responsibilty? Nope. As I type this I get a call from the social worker of the school, we are scheduled for mediation tomorrow. DO I feel better? Not really. • Pete this has nothing to do with this story I was wondering if you heard about this man in California, he was a school psychologist he even wrote books on kids and drugs. Anyway he and his wife had 7 kids and for some reason his held one of the boys (maybe the youngest) for 18 years torturing him and sexually abusing him. The kid could only eat table scrapes out of the trash can and sleep in handcuffs. The kid is 24 and in the military he has all kinds of medals for being a hero and stuff. Do you know what story I am talking about? If you do, do you know what happened to the father, the kid, and the rest of the family?

• Reading the story about the little boy hanging himself makes me so sad. I raised my son not to fight, to care and love everyone. God will take care of us. When Brendon was in 1st-8th grade kids picked on him, he was always the nice kid. He is a sophomore now and he is still the nice kid, he is 5 10" 185 LB, he's popular but some kids still pick on him. One of the bullies he has gone to school with since the 3rd grade would not leave him alone. Called Brendon a fucking Fag and he was going to kick Brendon's ass, the kid punched Brendon in the face. My son let out a roar tackled him and would not stop punching this kid in the face, two other teachers came running in his classroom pulling Brendon off this kid. My kid was suspended for 5 days, the other kid got 2 because of the injuries my son inflected on him. Some times that's what it takes. I went before the board and told my sons story, it did not good, Brendon is now home-schooled

• I've been throught his with my child. I use to tell her to walk away but things were getting out of hand. She would come home everyday with a new problem. For a long time I would tell her to walk away or go tell the teacher. That all changed when the girl came to my front door. I looked at my daughter and told her to whoop her ass. We haven't had that problem anymore.

• What an awesome mom!!! I would probably do the exact same thing if someones asshole of a kid was bullying mine. Principals and teachers who work there should be smacked in the mouth too for obviously not caring enough about the kids they are suppose to protect!

• Sandy Sue, I just read the story you are talking about, Montana Lance, This should be prosecuted as a hate crime. He and his family are probably one of the last several white US citizen families left in TX. Anybody who is a citizen and doesn't flee from TX is very foolish. It's obvious why he would be picked on by children of trashy, violent illegals. They are also doing a toxicology report to see if the child had any drugs in his system. Instead of taking care of the people who caused the problems, (the bullies) they focused on the innocent child.

• A very sad outcome of bullying happened at an elementary school in The Colony, TX - just north of Dallas recently. A nine year old boy was relentlessly verbally bullied by some kids, the Mom reported it to the school. The school said they could not do anything because no assault had taken place. They continued bullying him and threatening him to the point where he felt unsafe and brought a knife to school. He was temporarily kicked out of school while the bullies got suspended. The kid returned to the school to the same bullies acting up again. He went to the principals office, snuck into the nurses bathroom and hung himself. That school is just as responsible as those kids. BS that they couldn't do anything. They should have zero tolerance on that. I have two small children and you better believe that I would be at that parent's doorstep everyday until they got the balls enough to "handle" their kids and set them straight. But look how young these kids are? My son and daughter WILL learn how to 1) defend themselves and 2) have compassion for others. Apparently other bullying incidents were being swept under the rug at this school and probably countless others. I'd rather be arrested for "making a scene" then to have my child plot something heinous or worse yet hurt themselves.

• She may not have gotten the results she wanted but by talking with the media she is forcing them to defends their actions. I understand how she feels. My daughter and her friend were constantly bullied by 2 older girls. However, when I talked with the school they said they would handle it. Not 24 hours later she cam home crying from yet more bullying. I had the honor of being able to meet with both these girls parents and I have to say neither one wanted to take responsibility and step up to discipline their children. I have taught my daughter "do unto others as you would have done unto you". Not only did I have to sit and listen to these two "mothers" yell at me and my husband in our house but they had the nerve to call a deputy to our house. For me that was it. I let it be known to both the school and the parents that if this continued not only would I file charges against the mothers for neglect (these girls are 7 and 8 years old and are home alone for up to 6 hours every night) but I would also be talking with the media and with the state education board about the safety and well-being of our children in public schools. I can't say that in this particular situation I would have hit anyone but I understand the frustration this mother has toward not only the school but this bully's family for allowing him to think that this behavior was acceptable.

• I know a little about this case & person. She is not to be pitied. 1st off she does not really have a relationship with the boy who was beat up. She also doesn't tell you that her not so innocent son paraded her nephew in that school so to show the bullies "Hey this is my cousin, if you mess with him, you mess with me." This issues has not being going on for months but only in the last several weeks. Her oh so sweet son was also banned from parking on the school campus because he was driving aggressively towards other students. How did over protective Mom react? Well she marched down to the school & threatened them if they didn't allow her son to park in the school parking lot. Also let's ask Miss Branham why the police were called out after she was kicked out of a basketball game. Why was she cussing at cheerleaders? This mom is not one to cheer on. There are better Moms out there that are not trying to enable their children but protect them. Also, let's ask the son what racial slurs he started yelling out at the police & bystanders while they were arresting his Mom. She is not innocent.

• I see a lot of people mentioning "imagine if this happened in your workplace?" I actually have been "bullied" at work. They were subtle about it and I didn't feel like I could really complain without looking completely insane. I don't feel like going into details because I'm tired of it and it's in the past, but google something called "workplace mobbing." These little adolescent ass-hats just grow into their adult versions.

• oh man can I identify with this mom! my son has been bullied by the same boy in his grade for 4 years. and just a few weeks ago the bully offered up.. if you want to live to see your next birthday you will shut up. Now mind you I made a stink to my school about this, and investigation was done. But because my son stood up for himself it was not longer considered bullying, just mere two kids 'picking on' each other. What have our schools come to. In todays day and age we now have to worry about kindergartners and first graders bringing guns and knives to the schools while the principals hole up in their offices and look the other way. • Clearly, there is more to this story than has been revealed here, but, taking the story at face value, of *course* the administration should have intervened with the bully prior to now. That said, since there is no "Dad" in the picture to help his son here, I'm glad the Ms Branham intervened..it is important to the kid that he knows *someone* cares that he is living in terror every day. The better solution? Teaching the kid how to fight back, in WHATEVER WAY WORKS, and standing up to the bully. I was bullied after moving to a new neighborhood, and as my Dad was a pacifist, I did not fight back. I walked away (volutarily) and took the abuse. I continued to do that UNTIL the bully decided to move on from me and pick on my little brothers and sisters. At which point I broke his nose. I learned a lot from that experience: Bullies can never be appeased, can never be reasoned with, and will never stop. Bullies must be stopped. I also learned that bullies do *not* return to try again once they are stopped, because they are cowards at their core. This little boy could learn that same lesson if someone would teach him how to fight. It's not difficult.....and it's something that a boy or man needs to know, whether he has to do it again or not in life...he needs to know it.

• GO Tracy! I was bullied all through school, whenever i stuck up for myself and hit the f***ers back I was always the one who got in trouble for it ffs, even tho i had repeatly reported it. My parents came down to the school and made the biggest fuss EVER that i got in trouble for defending myself, the teachers kept a close eye out after that! Bullying is horrible and leaves a permanent scar inside. Parents should have the right to defend their kids when serious bullying isn't taken care of by stupid as teachers in the first instance, it should never be allowed to get to a stage where a kid has to report it a second time.

• When my son was in the elementary school, we went through the same nightmare. He was chubby and was relentlessly tormented and bullied. The administrators of the school constantly turned a deaf ear to me. The day it finally ended was the day I walked it and told the principal that if she did not but an end to this, the city school system would have the biggest law suit they'd ever faced. She looked at me like I was crazy and I looked her in the eye and told her that my son being called, "fatty" was no different than her being called a (and I apologize for this word before hand,)"nigger". My son was being tormented because of his extra weight. Same thing with the color of her skin. It was like a light bulb lit up in her head and it ended that very day. She and I became very close for the remainder of my son's stay at that school. Upon graduation into middle school, he blossomed and thrived without any further torture.

• I like the ideal as assault. Never thought of it that way. I wish the youtube video can be found. The charges against the mother would be dropped and the bullies parents would be in trouble for not properly socializing their kid. That video should be part of a lawsuit. Why? The bullies parents are teaching their kids the law of the jungle. So long their kid isn't on the receiving end, they believe that it toughens their kids up for sport and life & will make them more successful. Take their money and They will think different. Use the law 1st. If that doesn't work and you can get away with it beat down the parents. The bully will either get wupped by hi own parents and stop or will see that every time he beats someone his parent get beat. The latter won't always work, but it will more often than not.

• Yes true, some schools have a zero tolerarnce policy on bullying, but that doesn't mean they enforce it. One of the schools I went to had this policy and it was merely for show. It did nothing to stop the bullying I was subjected to. A lot of the kids that weren't in the "popular" group were bullied and the prinicpal did nothing about it. It got so bad for me that I was afraid to go to school, I couldn't eat, I could barely sleep. My mom went and talked to the principal and he literally told her it wasn't his problem. She came home enraged and told me whatever I wanted to do, it was my decision. It was my senior year and one of my teachers was the mom of a former bully who had graduated the year before. I had hurt my ankle at work and couldn't go upstairs to her class and she was supossed to send my assignments downstairs to me. She didn't and I had flunked that class by the middle of september, but when my mom brought that to the principals attention at her meetings with him, he simply replied "again, not my problem". It was one of the last credts I needed to graduate. So I decided to drop out and get my diploma through the college. I regret it sometimes, but I am happy I finally found some peace. I also take pleasure in knowing that some of the kids that bullied me are a big bunch of alcoholic losers! I agree with this mom 99%. The thing I don't agree with is putting her hands on the bulliy's mom. While I can COMPLETELY understand her frustration, she should know violence isn't the answer. But how many stories of these are we gonna have to hear before something is actually done? Phoebe killed herself over the relentless bullying about a month ago. When does it stop? I agree the mom should sue the school and not be charged. If my daughter is ever bullied I feel sorry for the school district. I will not stand for that. I may not act exactly like this mom, but they better believe I will be in their face until it is stopped!

• Parents across the U.S. need to get more involved in their childrens schools. Attend PTA and School Board meetings and don't ask.. DEMAND a Zero Tolerance Bullying Policy. I understand this mom was upset and rightfully so but there are better, legal ways to force the much needed changes in the ways our school systems are ran. If you push for a policy to be instated that will protect your child and other children and the schools resist, contact a good lawyer. Sometimes a lawsuit will open the schools administrators minds to a whole new way of thinking. Times have changed, kids are more vicious and violent than ever. Parents NEED to get involved with the schools their kids attend now more than ever.

• Way to go mom. If some kid had been messing with my son, he wouldn't have made it that far. After the first week his ass would be grass. I don't care how young he is, if he thinks being bigger or stronger somehow entitles him to treating people like an asshole, I'll show him how it works firsthand. • I used to get bullied when I was about 10. My mom put me in self-defense classes after I told her 'cause, like this kids school faculty, were a bunch of chicken shit pussies. I waited till I got a little better and stronger, and I just waited for him to do something until one day, he was talking shit and he finally started shoving me. I popped him 3 times, twice in the mouth and the last one was in the nose (he went down like a sack of shit after that). Well, I got suspended cause I split his lip in 2 places pretty badly, but man, he never made eye contact with me. Even though I got suspended, I never felt happier in my life. Moral of the story, put the kid in some self-defense classes, and tell him to wait to make another move. Then clock him one. Kick him while he's down too, these kids need to learn the hard way.

• Way to go mom!!! If anything like this was to happen at my kids school I would do the same thing. I remember when I was in elementary school we had moved to a new town right before my third grade year and when school started the very first day we had this huge group of bullies that would call us names and do stupid shit but I decided to stand up for me and my brothers and I got in a fight with this 5th grader and won so they left me alone but continued to mess with my little brothers. It was so bad that they would follow them home from school and pick on them real bad. My mom went to the school on several occasions to talk to the principle and the kids parent and nothing never happen until one day they followed my little step- brother halfway home and 10 boys all in a higher grade jumped him really bad. My mother went to the school to talk to the principle AGAIN and he had the nerve to tell my mother that since it happen off school property there was nothing they could do. My mom got so mad she smacked the principle and they tried to lock her up. But my mother had so many incident reports and had papers for every time she had to come to the school because of this that nothing happen to her but the principle was terminated due to the fact that he just ignored it when the bullies should have been suspended all the time the messed with them before in the school.

• I wouldn't say I was bullied as a kid, but I had my little rival who pretty much decided the day I started 3rd grade at my new private school in a new city (hard enough as it is for a kid) that she and I were enemies. Then my mom decided to put me back in public school for the last year of elementary school. I was standing on the boardwalk to the portables waiting for the bell to ring and talking to my friends when I got a tap on my shoulder. It was a group of three girls who decided to pick a fight with me. I turned my back to them and I got my hair pulled, and when I turned around, I got sucker punched. My mom pressed charges and this girl ended up getting put in foster care because her parents wouldn't cooperate and bring her to her court dates, saying that I must have deserved it in some way. I had literally never seen those girls in my life before that moment. I'm glad I had a mom who was willing to fight for me, too. I hope the charges are dropped against this woman. I imagine they will be.

And most parents know what its like to be frustrated the way schools handle these cases. • Majii -- While I would LOVE to see this go to court, there really aren't any grounds on which to sue the school. Now, if the child died as a result of the bullying or was seriously injured, then they'd have a case, and they'd probably win.

• I just called the school and left a message. I encourage others to call, too. Don't get carried away and make threats, but give them a piece of your mind. This has to stop! More and more kids are going home and killing themselves over shit like this. The school needs to step up and take responsibility.

• Having taught school for 33 years before retiring, I can say that bullying does go on a lot in schools. Sometimes it takes a subtle form like silently mouthing sordid and ugly things to another student in the same classroom unbeknownst to the teacher, and other times it can be a carefully passed note from the bully to the victim. Blatant forms of bullying include loudly mocking the victim in the cafeteria or hallway. A common form of bullying involves several friends who target the victim and "jump" him/her, either in the school, in the student parking lot, or at another location before or after school. Sometimes it only takes a student being labeled as "thinking he/she is better than we are" for the bullying to begin. Oftentimes the victim has had little/no contact with the aggressor(s.) If a boy or girl that the bully is interested in dating is more attracted to someone else, the someone else becomes the victim of the bully who then uses intimidation as a warning to stay away from the object of his/her desire. Schools should protect students from bullies, but I must say that who the bully is makes a huge difference in the way the school reacts to the bullying. It's a fact of life that if the bully has parents who are prominent members of the community or who are close friends to someone who is employed at the school, school administrators and personnel tend to ignore/deny the behavior. It's not right, but it happens more often than the public knows. My school had a zero tolerance policy for harassment and bullying, and I strictly enforced it in my classroom. My students didn't always like that I did it this way, but it kept the bullying out of my classroom. I always put myself in the position of my students' parents, and asked myself how I would like it if it were my child being bullied, and the teacher ignored it. I'd have been steaming mad just as Ms. Branham was in this situation, and if I could empathize with the parent, doing the right thing to prevent the behavior was a no-brainer. The officials and teachers at this school failed to properly protect Ms. Branham's son from the boy who was bullying him, and in my opinion, they should be sued for their failure to act on what they knew was going on in their school.

I immediately ran out and made them stop but when I came back (expecting graditude) the teacher yelled at me for running out of the classroom and me and my father had to come the next day and apologize to her and the principal.. Nothing happened to the two boys who are now in prison for opening a man's skull with a beer bottle.. bastards

• They should start treating bullying crimes like hate crimes, try the kids as adults and lock 'em up for life.

• Had the school been on their game, they would have nipped this before it got this far. If I were this woman, I would sue the school, and I would plead NOT GUILTY by reason of temporary insanity, because she must have gone crazy after the school continued to allow her child to be tormented, harassed, and abused! Why would she have to stand for that!? Now the school issues no statement, trying to figure out how to cover their a$$, since in essence this is their fault through their inability, and refusal to act or take steps to stop the abuse doled out by the bully. Had it been me, the bully's mother would have gotten a real beat down in front of her bully kid by me personally, while the bully kid watched. I would have promised the bully his mom would be my target anythim my child was his.

• She trusted the school administrators and the school system. Unlike some other people she was probably thinking on more than herself and her closest. The reason she didn't want to get the police involved, could be because it would destroy the bullies life. She wanted the bullying to stop. The school adm. was probably busy watching their own asses, since ignoring the bullying makes it go away - "is sarcastic". I do completely agree with her and her actions. She was very frustrated, I don't think it can be much worse for a mother than having her children tormented and not being able to do anything about it. Well other than having her children molested, killed or something. But I think you people are smart enough to know what I mean.

• I too am 100% behind this mom - one thing that I would love to ask these harborers of little assholes (most principals, that is) is how they would feel if they walked down the hall and had a co-worker tease them, spit at them, throw them against the lockers...everything that they expect students to just put up with. I myself cannot imagine coming to work and getting barraged with bullying behavior, but, we seem to expect it out of our children when they are confronted daily by shitty kids. If I came to work and a co-worker hit me in a bullying way, well, then it's considered a crime. Assault, actually. And there is no way that I or an employer would put up with that. But, these kids do not have the same recourse. I am with the poster who said that the police need to be brought in during these cases. Charge the little bastards with assault, stalking, menacing, the same thing that we would charge adults who act that way.

• Why can't parents march down to their local police department and file a claim that if substantiated may eventually lead to assault or battery charges. I'm not saying this should be done in the one or two spat instances. No one wants to give a young child a record over petty stuff but for these children who are relentlessly bullied, physically assaulted and have school adminstrators who turn a blind eye refusing to take a stand why not? Maybe someone can shed some light and education me on why police intervention doesn't appear to be a viable course of action for the children and families involved in severe bullying incidents. Also, I completely understand the mother's anger and applaud her for actively looking out for her son however, she should have kept her hands to herself.

• We live in a passive society - actually using violence is considered unacceptably aggressive, but you can talk as much trash as you want and not get in trouble. I want to add the "One shot in the mouth" rider to the First Amendment. You can say whatever you want, but if you are being obnoxious about it, someone gets to pop you one in yap.

• I am behind Tracy Branham 100%! Should she have gone to the cops rather than attacking the mother, yes, but at least she not only got the schools attention but she got the attention of the bully's mother, the community and the police. She repeatedly watched this kid torment her family members and she finally stood up for them, since no one else was doing so. I stand behind her for standing behind her children, as a mother should!

• The principle should have immediately corrected the bully cussing at Branham. He is a student and has to abide by school rules, she is not.

• Tracy Branham is 100% right for being as pissed and frustrated as she is. She probably should have stopped short of getting physical, but she's absolutely justified in raising hell about the situation her son is in. Bullying in any school should not be tolerated, but to have had her son take action and report it repeatedly and for Tracy herself to have met with administrators and have nothing done about it is simply wrong. School officials should be held accountable for their inability to administrate a safe and inclusive environment. The bullying kid should have been put on notice, then suspended and ultimately expelled if the behavior continued. Go Tracy, go. Give 'em hell!
