We'll be at company meetings pretending -- in vain -- to be important. But we'll be back with our regularly scheduled programming bright and early Tuesday morning. In the meantime, may your days be festive and creep-free.

Oh how I dislike your time off and no new stories (only in a selfish manner)...Guess I'm going to be going through old ones for the next few days. Enjoy your brief vacation!
Posted 02/05/2010 at 03:41:51 PMJenn,
Ditto! Its gonna be a long weekend without any new stories!
Posted 02/06/2010 at 01:01:05 AMThere was an amber alert in Carthage, Missouri.
The story was "two unknown masked men wearing black clothing broke into the residence while the father was sleeping. The 2 suspects assaulted the father during a struggle rendering the father unconsciouus. The house was ransacked and the child was taken." - http:/psm.chotel.com/PSMServlet/jsp/amberAlertList.jsp?state=MO
I heard from my co-worker today that after being questioned the father admitted to killing Eddie Salazar, (8 months old) and told police he'd show them where the body was. He dumped it in either the river or a near by lake.
This was screaming Aevion Lewis to me. I knew when I read the story that the father had done something. =/ I was hoping TCR might write a story on this poor baby, I'd like to know what exactly happened.
Posted 02/07/2010 at 12:47:29 PMHere's another site that might tide you over til Pete gets back. Not as good as this site but still interesting.

Posted 02/08/2010 at 07:30:34 AMMarie, does that make us fans or fanatics? I can't quite figure it out. Lol.
Gina, thanks for that story. Any new updates on it?
Cheryl, thank you for the new possible addiction! I'm always looking for new, fun sites (not that I will ever find a replacement for TCR, I love the stories and the people on here too much to leave).
Posted 02/08/2010 at 10:42:16 AMI am with all u guys I miss pete and his take on things. I have most recently come across this site when I typed in jeffrey plishka a few months back he was arrested a few houses down from me and I use to work at a convienence store where he semi-harrased me. So doing a search on here I found this site and haven't been able to leave it since!!! LMAO btw at the picture pete used to represent a "meeting" LOL
Posted 02/08/2010 at 01:29:00 PMI like the fact that we can spar without being censored. It gets a little heated sometimes but Pete lets us speak our minds. Some of the other sites are patroled by "control freaks."
....and this is the only site that I can post on at work. All the others get blocked. Can't figure that one out.
Hey Jenn: Have you tried out this site yet?
http://womenincrimeink.blogspot.com/
Its female authors, prosecuters and attorney type people. I see some of these women on tv all the time.
Posted 02/08/2010 at 04:00:54 PMDon't know where my post went but I'll try this again.
I like this site because it isn't censored. It gets a little heated some times but Pete lets us speak our minds.
Plus its the only site I can make comments on. Work blocks most of the blog type sections on most of the websites I visit.
Hey Jenn, have you visited this site yet?

Posted 02/08/2010 at 04:03:45 PMJenn,
I'm not sure if we are fans or fanatics! Maybe a little of both?!?! I do like how we can comment freely, though sometimes it does get out of hand! Plus, I like Pete"s way of reporting the stories. Where else will you see a writer using "doucherific" to describe someone?! It isn't as professional and I like that! Its more down to earth and I love that! And seeing grammar mistakes, even though some people are annoyed by that, makes the writer seem just as human as the rest of us!
Posted 02/08/2010 at 05:16:04 PMMarie, I agree, Pete sometimes is the Shakespeare of crime blogging when he makes up words such as "doucherific." It cracks me up. The freedom to post whatever, whenever on this site is definitely what makes it popular. I just hope that people don't start abusing it and making it to where this site requires moderators. That would just spoil all the fun.
Cheryl, thank you for the sites, but do you realize you are feeding an uncontrollable addiction when you give me somewhere else to go! lol.
Eastern, the pics always crack me up too. Sometimes they don't make much sense, but other times they are just hilarious, like that inbred picture. What kills me the most is that people see the pics and always think they are actual pics of the people in the story. I usually can't bring myself to tell them though.
Posted 02/08/2010 at 05:24:28 PMJenn, I know what ya mean about the other sites! I'm afraid to go to them for fear I might become addicted to. And the pictures are funny sometimes and your right, people do get too butt hurt over them sometimes! Like the one with the story about the 15 year old raping that lady on the street. Most of us are smart enough to realize that wasn't the actual lady.
Wonder what new stories we will see tomorrow. I hope the one with the 8-month-old is on here. I would like to hear more about it. Poor baby. People just amaze me sometimes.
On a side note. Did anyone read about Bianca Starr? I read the story and tried to find out what if anything happened with her mom, but I couldn't find anything. Just wanted to know if the mom went to trial and if she did, what was the outcome. Anyone know? Its been almost two years since she died, but I couldn't find anything new.
Posted 02/08/2010 at 06:15:59 PMWELCOME HOME PETE! Glad to have you back to feed our addiction!
Posted 02/09/2010 at 12:21:32 PMThank you, Jaden. And it's fabulous to hear from you as well on this fine Tuesday.
Posted 02/09/2010 at 12:31:36 PMGina, the story you spoke about made the TCR page.
Posted 02/09/2010 at 01:29:05 PMPete, when I hover my mouse over the box thing by your name, it says "author profile page." However, if I click it, I get nothing. Is there something wrong with the link or is there really no author profile page? Just curious and didn't know where else to ask.
Posted 02/09/2010 at 05:36:57 PMNaah, there is no author page profile, Jenn. It's just one of the weird glitches in the software, of which there are many.
Posted 02/10/2010 at 09:38:22 AMYAY!! Pete our (pusher man) for our addiction is back and I have new new's stories to absorb and disect! @Jen yah the picture used to depict a meeting all serious and board meeting set-up.(which I imagine Pete's meeting's look nothing like ) joke. But here in virginia we been pummeled with snow losing tv on and off so I been on this site more than usual. It's sad to say it keeps me feeling sane in a world of the insane!! Thanks TrueCrime Report!
Posted 02/10/2010 at 09:59:04 AMAnd it's good to see you back, Eastern Shore Girlie.
Posted 02/10/2010 at 10:15:42 AMNo, we don't appear to be groupies at all!!! Pete, you must love that you have so many fans (or fanatics).
Posted 02/10/2010 at 10:40:54 AMPETE, they've arrested a POI in Somer Thompson's case:
