Weird Teacher Watch: Spanish Teacher Lindsay Garcia-Yazdi Arrested for Sex With Student

• I was friends with her in high school...we actully had our language to write notes in...im shocked...I just cant believe this is happening to her..

• Wake up people!! I know her as well. Just because she is saying she did not do it does not mean anything!! I saw a status update on her facebook way back that read, "just got told I was the most beautiful women by a student". She was flattered. At that moment I knew something was not right. Months later this came out. No one knows for sure she did not do it, no one was with her every second!! They had to have some concrete evidence to arrest the women, HELLO!!! Would you be so quick to say NO she did not do it, if it was your son that was claiming they had sex with her?

• This woman is an innocent teacher with a family. Shame on you for speculating on guilt before a trial. She is a lovely woman, I know this for a fact. It is so sad that these allegations become public before there is any proof.

• Instead of calling her ugly, look at her regular pictures. Don't judge a mug shot of her based on the worst 50+ hours of her life. You critical people who have no idea what you're talking about. • Jax BEACH...not just plain ol' Jacksonville...haha. The rest of that place is scary. Same with Cocoa Beach...you go into Cocoa, expect to get anally probed by someone. Gainesville, which I somehow forgot to mention, SUUUUUCKS!!!! Nothing is there except for UF. It's a fucking ghost town. Ft. Lauderdale is a shit hole. In the year and a half that I lived there, I got my car stolen and a total of about 10 police officers were shot and killed within a 5 mile radius of where I lived; one being at my local Walgreens. Sarasota was pretty tame for the most part, except when something super crazy happened. We had the Sheila Bellush case, which drew national attention in 1997 when I was in 6th grade. The daughter who found her went to my school. Then my high school was all over the national news when Al Gore mentioned this twat Kailey Ellis in the first Presidential Debate for the 2000 election. Then Carlie Brucia was kidnapped and killed about 3 miles from our house in 2004, which was really devastating to everyone who lived there. But to end 2004, some amazingly awesome man decided to try to run over Katherine Harris while she was campaigning with supporters on the side of 301. Had she not jumped out of the way at the last second, she would have been roadkill. Then I left.

• Well I bought a house in West Palm Beach about a year and a half ago, so I'll probably end up back there for one reason or another one of these days

• God, my typos are out of control tonight! But you get the gist. I don't think I could handle it up north, panhandle, or central, but coastal I can live with. Ironically, it's because of the influx of metropolitan northerners, Europeans, Carribean, and Latin American folk. I like that mix.

• I'm honestly surprised to hear that about Jax. That is getting a little too close to the deep south for my comfort. At least in Lauderdale, you seem to have more civilization. Everything between there and GA starts to scare me a bit. The West coast is just OK, a far cry from the panhandle. I think Orlando is like bit gross scar on he state, and a lot of the Everglades areas weird me out. Strange fold out there. Any place rural in FL basically seems to be weird lawless territory to some extent. i'm being careful to qualify my statements, but there is a lot about FL that doesn't sit well with me.

• Actually, Cocoa Beach is the only acceptable place in Florida, and maybe Jax Beach...but that's where it ends. Lucky for me, my remaining family in Florida all live in the Cocoa Beach area, so that's the only place I'll ever have to go again...haha. And Oregon has Mt. Hood! LOTS of snowboarding! I've only been up there a couple of times now after living here for a few years, but I have friends who get season passes and go up there two or three times a week. It's only about an hour-and-a-half from Portland.

• Sillycoyotes, Yeah, I try not to take on any debate over that subject online because #1 I'd normally get accused of being either sexist or homophobic, #2 I could go on and on about the subject, so most cases I'll just agree to disagree. Most people with military experience would agree. Have you served? mcr, You're saying you didn't like living in Cocoa Beach? I can understand not liking Ft. Lauderdale but I don't think it's so bad up there. Can't say I've ever been to Oregon though, wouldn't mind checkin it out one day, they have places to snowboard there right?

• Ryan, I agree with your stance on military matters and I'm a woman. Military life on a ship or a combat unit where no privacy is afforded, isn't the same as working in an office or most any other type of job. When people claim, "oh it's a matter of equality between the sexes or gay rights," they just don't get what it's like living in a situation where you live, sleep, shower, etc. within 18 inches of another human being 24/7 for very extended periods of time.

• Yes we do have the strongest military in the world, and like I said I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with women serving in the military, but for reasons I'm not going to get into on here, problems arise from women serving on a ship or if they were to be stationed on a sub. Again, I'm making these statements from facts and experience. Although I know people are going to have their opinions otherwise.

• Well, I definitely don't want to join the military, but I respectfully disagree. We still have the strongest military in the world even with women thrown in there. Granted, I don't really know much about the military experience, but I no longer live in Florida, but I grew up mostly in Sarasota with a few years in Cocoa Beach and a year and a half in Ft. Lauderdale. I hate it there. Haven't been back since I moved to Oregon.

• My current 12 years in the Marine Corps has given me quite the inside perspective regarding the gay issue as well as the females on ships/subs issue. Honestly, it's not about equal rights, it's about the military being a well oiled machine. This is REALLY one of those you have to experience it to know about it. If you could see how everything works, and certain issues that have been well, issues, then I would bet my life you would have a different point of view. I am all for equal rights for men and women etc. but there are a few places where having women there makes things more complicated (for lack of a better word) ie. the front lines on the actual battlefield, and on ships and submarines. And the issue with the gays, well I'm not even going to get into all of that, it's a slippery slope, and I'm sure I'll offend all sorts of folks on here and it'll just cause another back and forth argument. I'll just say you REALLY have to have spent some time in the military (by time I mean more than 3 years) and have some experience to understand the issue. No I'm not from Connecticut, I was born in Jersey, and moved to Florida when I was 10 so I'm from Florida.
