Anthony Spidle Gets 5 Years for Beating Girlfriend's Puppy After Breakup

Jen Beamis was in the midst of breaking up with him, so Spidle tried to kill her dog
​He got drunk one night and threw the puppy against a wall, then strangled it and stomped on its head. And he did it all be recording it all on Jen's voicemail.

Gabby the dog survived, but it suffered massive injuries to its brain, eyes and internal organs.

Spidle pleaded guilty to the crime, saying he was pissed that Jen was breaking up with him. But under a new Utah law, beating the shit out of your girlfriend's dog is now a felony.

Spidle's lawyers tried to claim he had an abusive childhood and and suffered from drug and alcohol problems. But the severity of the crime left the judge not particularly interested in his tales of woe.

He was sentenced to five years in the slam.
