Four years ago, Clinton Danner of Rockford, Minnesota found Jesus. He'd done time for burglary, drugs and fraud. But when he met his 17-year-old wife in church, he'd repented, says her dad. Now it's never wise to trust a con, especially when he's 28 and wants to marry a 17-year-old...
But dad is the religious sort, it seems, and trusted his daughter when she said Danner was a nice guy.
That changed immediately after she got pregnant. Danner began pimping his young wife out for sex with other men via Craigslist ads. After their baby was born, he would threaten to take the kid away if she didn't keep up with her sexual duties.
It went on until last year, when the woman finally told her dad that Danner had been pimping her out.
(Memo to father: This is when aficionados of what's known as "Old School" parenting usually intervene. Most choose a parenting method called "vicious beating." By punching, kicking, and berating the offending husband, thus causing permanent scarring and/or internal injuries, said husband will soon remember it's in his best interest to act like a real husband.
But be careful not to use a weapon! In the Midwest, you have 10-1 odds that cops will fix your subsequent case as long as you maintain traditional standards! No back to our regularly scheduled programming...)
Dad brought his daughter to his home in suburban Minneapolis. But it wasn't long before the woman returned to Danner.
Apparently emboldened after not getting his ass kicked, Danner began pimping her out cross-country, sending her to D.C., New York, Illinois and Georgia. They'd live out of a van with their now 3-year-old daughter. Danner controlled all the money so she couldn't escape.
But last weekend, she was sent to Chicago by herself. Instead of turning tricks, she called a hotline that helps sex workers. Police arrested Danner when he drove to Chicago to confront her over her lack of earning. -- Special thanks to reader Lindsey for the tip.

I know this girl was no doubt young minded and naive BUT. It just sucks that this guy was EVER allowed to date this pig in the first place. I know that HOPEFULLY these parents tried a little harder than is stated here to keep them apart. AND it may not have worked keeping them apart anyway but I hope they at some point they TRIED!

Posted 03/18/2010 at 11:31:25 AMYea iLLusions I still can't wrap my head around it. EVEN IF the guy was a born again saint, HE'S @#%$#&$ 28 YEARS OLD! She is a minor at 17, and what parent thinks that it's ok for a guy 11 years older than your teenage daughter to date her because he "seemed like a nice guy?" or "she convinced him of it"????? Since when does parenting involve allowing a naive teenager to coerce you into accepting their new boyfriend, when their very relationship is considered illegal for good reason? Sorry I know most of my sentences above could use some editing, but I'm just on a little roll here.
Sounds too like the girl is more involved than she saying. It said she was able to leave Danner and move in with her dad, and I assume bring her newborn. Seems like she had everything she was begging for back. BUT then she runs away back TO him??? I think we may be seeing another case of Daddy's too strict, and treats me like a teenager, so I'll go live with my perv baby daddy. If she was being pimped out against her will she should have stayed with her dad, she'd have been safe.
It's gonna piss some folks off to say this, but believe it or not, SOME women enjoy being used as sex objects by multiple men. There is a whole group of folks dedicated to that sorta thing. Men allow other men to have sex with their wives all the time, sometimes for the benefit of the husband, sometimes for the wife. NOW I AM NOT SAYING THAT THIS IS THE CASE HERE...But I wouldn't be suprised if it came out that she was only reporting him this time because of a spat between the two. Vindictive yes, but not out of the question. Again I point to her previous actions as motive for my conclusion. How does him "controlling all the money" prevent her from escape? Couldn't she just walk up to a cop, or call 911, or someone and report the illegal shit going on? :/
Either way the husband is a loser douche-bag perv with a serious problem that leaves him feeling unworthy of women his own age.
I doubt we'll ever know the truth 100% as it will remain he said/she said unless the rare opportunity occurs where some stupid ex-customer would knowingly admit to having sex with a pregnant 17 year old girl...

Posted 03/18/2010 at 02:04:01 PMI think a major reason was economic. He wanted easy money & he didn't care. He is sick. For all his professing, He had no faith that things would get better. So he made them worse.
When it comes to mindcontrol freaks, they know every string to pull.
And no few of you folks are gonna hate me for saying this, but church doesn't teach folks how to think critically. More often than not they teach young ladies to obey their husbands.

However, when I went to church they had a nice little clause in there that basically said so long as they lead you in the path of righteousness. I am not sure if all churches teach that. I know that even in that church I was still chastised if I questioned my husband at the time even when I felt strongly against what I was being told.
I would hope that someone with some common sense would have overlooked this teaching and remembered the other teaching of honor thy father and thy mother. I am sure her father said this lifestyle was not proper and that should have been that.
Unfortunately, he had his hooks in her and it took time for her to stand up to him. How sad. I would not imagined that kind of life. And the poor baby! Just imagine the life it would have had!
Posted 03/18/2010 at 04:34:17 PMYou do have to wonder what kind of parents allow a child to date or marry a grown man. A friend of mine and her husband got a divorce. She was 23. He went on to marry someone older and when that did not work out, he moved to Arkansas and married a 14 year old girl.
Evidently in some states you can marry a child. He was in his late 30's at the time. It happens.

What in the hell was her parents thinking when they allowed that?! I don't care if the guy has a squeaky clean record, is a Gerald Butler look-a-like, and a doctor/laywer, there is something very odd about a grown "man" wanting to be with someone who is still technically a child. Its just gross!
Moongrim and wondering, I also often wonder where some people go to church. In all the churches I have been to, I have never been taught to obey my husband or to blindly follow his lead and not ask questions. Never been to one of those although I know they exsist. Where I go, that's not ever even mentioned! I don't know. Maybe I just have a really good preacher, but I never hear anything like that. If anything, he tells the men to treat their wives like they want to be treated. The preacher is around 30 or so and has only been here for about a year, but still, not even any of the older ladies act like that. Just doesn't happen where I go. Can't really understand why some people are like that.

That is a 4 year difference, which is not 11 years. BUT did they have their eye on them, when they were juniors in highschool. What do you think?

Did Danner have her child, if not then I dont see why she went back there... naive or not, she was smart enough to get the hell out of the situation when she went to Chicago, and if she was alone in Chicago that means he had her kid then. I just dont understand and Im only 4 years older than this girl; so its not because I cant relate to her age. Was it love that brought her back? Maybe she didnt realize that if you love someone you don't pimp them out.
Message to the father- at 17 you still have a choice in who your children date, ofcourse they can still do it anyway but I think if a man is 11 years older than your teenage daughter you put your foot down whether it means threatening his perverted ass or grounding the girl. If they are a convict, then you put your foot down reguardless of the age.

But I find it difficult to believe she did this for 3 years and never complained because she was afraid of losing her baby. Not. There's more to this story that hasn't been related.

I know he is working on getting the story out after his case is settle. He will post some of it up on clintondanner.com. He will let it out.
