In this installment of Douchebags of the Week, cult leader "Queen Antoinette" learns that starving babies to death can be bad for their health. But first let's wave politely to this week's Douchebag parting contestants...

5) Steven Mandala

The latest formula for Wall Street prosperity involves keeping your ass off of Wall Street. Just ask Steven Mandala, the 29-year-old former stockbroker who pocketed $780,000 from Merrill Lynch for three months of employment during which he almost never showed up.

Prosecutors claim that Mandala was hired by the investment firm in April 2009 after lying about being a hugely successful partner in another firm. To shore up his odds, Mandala furnished loads of phony paperwork that made him out to be an investment genius.

Not only did Merrill Lynch bite hard, it showered him with a $780,000 upfront loan -- a common enticement for luring the type of top-flight talent who actually come to work after you've hired them.

But rather than repay the money, Mandala allegedly dumped it into his parents' checking account and bought himself a $245,000 Ferrari.

He is also accused of swiping the identity of his ex-fiance's father in order to run up enormous credit card bills. He was whacked by Merrill Lynch after securing only $20,000 worth of clients in his first three months.

Mandala has pleaded not guilty to charges including grand larceny, money laundering, and identity theft. And so far, he's still got his Ferrari.

4) Jeremiah Scott

Daddy issues would seem to be on the horizon for the children of Jeremiah Scott.

The 23-year-old from Indian Hills, California, was arrested on February 26 when his two daughters, ages 4 months and 18 months, were found beaten, bound, and gagged in a bedroom of their home. The two were hospitalized with wounds on their head and face, though their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Scott was not in the house at the time the girls were found, but he was apprehended in the neighborhood without incident a short time later.

His scheduled arraignment on March 3 was canceled when he was confined to a "safety cell" designed for inmates who are considered a danger to themselves or others. Scott's rescheduled arraignment the following day was also canceled when he was hospitalized with an undisclosed condition.

The court plans to try hauling his ass in a third time this week. He will eventually face seven felony counts, six of which pertain to the alleged torture of his kids.

3) Jesse James Warwick

In all fairness, starting out life with the names "Jesse" and "James" back-to-back on your birth certificate entitle you to a short stack of Get Out of Dipshit Behavior Free cards. Sadly, these are not redeemable when children force you to have sex.

That's the claim of Jesse James Warwick of Rogersville, Tennessee, who was arrested by sheriff's deputies for allegedly engaging in sex acts with a 12-year-old girl.

On January 29, the tweener temptress told her mother about the alleged incidents, in which she performed oral sex on Warwick and he did the same to her.

According to children's services officials, Warwick claims the girl blackmailed him into sex that he wanted no part of. He then conceded that he once rubbed the girl's naked butt without being coerced.

Warwick is charged with aggravated sexual battery.

2) Jeffrey Malmberg

Give Jeffrey Malmberg credit for this: He aired all his dirty laundry before the wedding day.

Forty-year-old Malmberg of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was slated to marry 21-year-old Consuela Martinez on March 20. But on February 22, Malmberg disappeared with Martinez's two-year-old daughter, Jozlynn. He resurfaced two days later without the girl and a whole lot of questions to answer.

Police say he admitted to "accidentally" killing Jozlynn by kneeling on her chest until she stopped breathing. He then placed her body in a trash bag and deposited it in a commercial dumpster.

By the time investigators learned that Malmberg had discarded the girl's remains, the dumpster had been emptied and its contents sent to an incineration facility. Dozens of police and a cadaver dog searched the trash pile but could find no evidence of the girl, whom they believe may have been incinerated by now.

"I'm not a monster," Malmberg told WOOD-TV from his jail cell shortly after being charged with second-degree murder. "I loved her. She was my princess."

Malmberg also faces charges of tampering with evidence -- for disposing of Jozlynn's body -- and theft of $2,800 from Martinez.

The two had lived together with Jozlynn and a seven-month-old boy they had together. Martinez was not charged in the death of Jozlynn, but may lose custody of her son this month as a result of unrelated accusations of neglect.

Back in his cell, Malmberg has taken a more tender turn: He hung up a newspaper clipping with photos of Jozlynn and her mother, which he kisses every night.

He asked reporters to go easy on Martinez: "She lost her daughter one day, then her fiance, and now she's lost her son."

1) Queen Antoinette

Queen Antoinette presided over a church called 1 Mind Ministries, though the mind in question seemed not to be hers.

The Baltimore cult leader was convicted this month of ordering the execution of a 16-month-old boy by starvation because he did not say "Amen" before eating. The boy, Javon Thompson, was killed in late 2006 or early 2007.

Antoinette, whose real name is Toni Sloan, was found guilty of first-degree murder and child abuse that led to the boy's death. Two of her followers, daughter Trevia Williams and Marcus Cobbs, also were convicted. Each of them could earn up to 60 years behind bars at their May sentencing.

The boy's mother, Ria Ramkissoon, said the boy was capable of saying "Amen." She also believed Antoinette's claim that starvation would free him of an evil spirit.

When that didn't turn out so well, Antoinette ordered Ramkissoon to pray for her dead son's resurrection. Ramkissoon obliged, staying with Javon's body for weeks, dancing and singing in hopes of rousting him from death.

Ramkissoon pleaded guilty in 2009 to child abuse resulting in death. That verdict was marked by the caveat that her conviction would be overturned if the boy were ever resurrected, Jesus-style. No luck with that so far.
