I live in a city that is close to Eastman, GA. There are many people living in this general area who are child abusers. The strange thing though is that they are very critical of other people. They love to quote scripture and condemn others who don't live like they do, or who don't believe what they believe. They love to tell other people how to live and are quick to come to each other's defense, giving each other the benefit of the doubt, but they are unwilling to extend it to others. They say one thing but do something entirely different. IMO, the majority of the people living in the state of GA are hypocrites and liars who hide behind their Bibles to justify their positions/opinions on all issues and to cover up evidence of their criminal activities. And no, this is not an attack on Christians. It is an attack on people who use their religion to cover up the ugliness that pervades the state.

At 30 years old, I do frequently find myself sounding more and more like the 'old timers'. BUT it's story after story of the horrors children endure, Yet hundreds if not thousands of loving homes willing to take in children yet the state thinks a child should be with there natural parent sometimes it seems at ALL costs. A long while back(on which thread I cant remember think it was the nancy grace one)Someone commented that people should'nt be able to have kids unless they have passed rigorous test to be sure they CAN be a parent b4 they are allowed to have kids. I know it sounds far fetched BUT in this day in time, idk not so much, I am almost for it.

Magi, I can't urge you enough to report every single person you have reason to suspect of this. The sooner it is on record that someone reported it, the better. What if there are other people making the same claims? Eventually, LE would have to investigate. Only good could come of it. But please explain, do you think it is an organized ring of child abusers? Do you think they are organized and cooperating with each other? It's uncanny that you have such insight/perspective to be able to describe patterns in their behavior i.e. telling others how to live. Please elaborate on that.

also, if you live in a rural area anywhere in the south, the attitudes are the same. everyone is related, and have known each other since their great=great grandparents were friends 100 years ago. it's very difficult to be accepted in the world of a small town unless you were born and raised there.

marie, thanks for the young age thing! i'm twice your age so definitely old enough to be your mother. however, i was not able to have children after a tubal pregnancy, so maybe i just never grew up! that's part of the reason i said people should have to take a test to become parents! here i was, someone that wanted a child, longed for a child, but without artificial means or adoption, would never have a child. it just seemed personally wrong to me to not be able to conceive, yet there are a ton of parents out there that can give birth only to use their children in the most vile of ways. maybe that's part of the attraction to these stories about kids... it still intrigues me that someone with so much love to give has no children to give it to, and someone that is vile, disgusting, abusive, non working, drug abusing, alcoholic, self centered, etc can pop them out like it's nothing!

I am sorry you couldn't have children. And your right. It does seem that people like this are able to breed but the ones that would be better parents or love their children more can't. Its sad. I have a cousin that can't have children. They adopted a little girl and she is a wonderful mom. Her husband, another story! But she is a terrific mother. I'm sure you would have been too. I actually was told I probably couldn't have them and at 15/16, that is very heartbreaking, but I have my daughter who is 4. I try to be the best mom I can be. What I actually meant to put to you was, I agree with what you said to magi. If she knows people are doing stuff like this, or even suspects they are, she should let the proper authorities know. I know now a days a lot of people don't wanna get involved with others lives, but I think that's one thing that is wrong with our country. We don't look after one another like we used to. Now I sound like an "old timer"! But its true. When I was little, if my parents saw someone being abused, they called the cops. Now, I'm scared to death to do it! I called the cops on one family that lives down the street from my sister. They let their little boys (I'm talking the oldest one is maybe 6 and the youngest is maybe 2, and that was 3 years ago) run in the street and ride their scooters in the street and no one is out there with them! I don't know how many times they have almost been hit. So one day I was at her house watching my neices and saw about 5 cars about hit the boys and I called the cops. They went over to the house and then and came and talked to me. They said unless they saw them, there wasn't much they could do. I would have to call social services. The next day when my sister woke up, 2 of her tires had been slashed. Coincident or retaliation? That was 3 years ago and the kids still do it. Even though my sister, me, my mom, and my aunt and cousin who live on the same street have called social services, it still hasn't stopped. One of these days an idiot is gonna fly down that street (like they already do) and not see them in time and hit one of them. Or worse, they could get abducted. We don't live in a big city and I don't think there has ever been an abduction here (knock on wood there never will be one) but it could happen.

But if people just start looking at signs and doing something instead of ignoring it, maybe so many of these stories wouldn't happen. That, and maybe if there were less sickos in this world.

And I'm somewhat in agreement about the small town thing. I moved to one when I was 9 and at first it was hard. But by the time I was 12 or so, we were more accepted and when we moved,the day I turned 16 :(, a lot of the town was upset. It was the first time I had seen complete strangers wave at us. They would also help us out like the people did with melb1970. We then moved to another one just 15 miles from where I live now and it was a totally different story. If you waved, they would give you dirty looks. If you were broke down, they would drive right past you. Its like how you said jadensmokes. If you didn't grow up there or your family wasn't from there, you didn't "belong". Its weird how towns and people can be different!

I work in a residential treatment facility where every girl who enters our facility has been raped, molested sodomized by family, foster families, teachers, friends and occasionally human services workers. However, after seeing the horrible things that happen to the 250,000 children in foster care or state custody, people need to realize that these kids can get help and can get better.

While I would love to shoot all of the people that did these horrible things to these innocent children, I have come to realize that many of the children need to be able to confront their abusers later in life to move past what happened to them.

It sucks, but it really is an important step in giving power back to the victim and taking it away from any future abusers.

If you don't like reading stories like this, do something about it. Stop just talking about it and letting it sit on the back burner. That is what is truly wrong with America. It is never anyone's problem.

It just takes one person to start making a change. Volunteer in this field, donate, work in the field, be a CASA worker or Big Sister/Brother. Make a difference....don't just say that someone should.

But you are a hypocrite. I just finished reading Exodus 21. It was about the treatment of slaves. I read my spouse's (a non believer) bible because I mostly have the New Testaments around. Christian's place more importance to the New Testament not the Old Testament. If some places more emphasis on the old than the new, they ain't a Christian. Jews I believe use the Talmud and that puts things into context like the New Testament does for Christians.

More or less this passage dealt with selling daughter as wives for the most part. This could be what later developed into a bride price . The maidservant part was to say that they are not free after 7 years like menservants are.

I don't know why seven years is the time period. But it reminds me that Jews have this wonderful thing called jubilee, where debts were forgiven after 7 years. I believe it is still codified in our law. When we weren't so Biblically minded, we had debtors prisons and shipped debtors to Australia. Do you want to go back to that time?

I have kids my youngest is a daughter there is not enough money to get me to do something like that to my child that is just sick i hope the little girl is is able to get real parents that will take care of her she will be in my prayers
