When I read a lot of posts that are similar it helps me understand the trend in thinking, which seems to be most teen boys would LOVE to be with an older experienced woman, and should shut their mouths when it's offered.

• How many times have you ever heard of a young boy growing up shattered after a scandalous affair with his teacher. I'm pretty sure it is never. That is because it is a huge self-esteem boost and actually would help the child throughout later in life. I wholly support female teachers flirting with male students, at least until someone can provide proof that it has some form of ill-effect. Also before anyone cries "but it's rape", shut up. Rape happens when the person feels abused, either now or when they mature later. If neither happen, it was only for a positive benefit.

• I do think these women are just as sick as the NAMBLA freaks, but GDamn man where were these teachers when I was a sex-starved 18yr old senior in highschool??? I remember only having one moderately attractive teacher, and she was only 4 years older than I was as a 18 yr old senior. She was married and we flirted a lot, but I never would have expected anything more to happen...and it never did. I fantasized a lot about it, but then again who didn't at 18?I guess we just grew up in different times, or maybe my school system just hired old trolls instead of buxom blonde 24 yr olds....

• @ Noneya. I don't buy the control theory, at least not totally. I use to think it was only about sex crimes (specifically rape)were only about sex and discounted feminist theory. That is until I heard a story about a Denver man, years ago, who raped woman. He was married. Since then I believe that some rapes are about control and that is it. Some rapes are about sex and they don't care who they hurt to get it. Who says a thing has to have only a single cause?

• These incidents have very little if anything to do with sex. It's all about control. How hard is it for a beautiful older woman to control a teen boy with raging hormones... Not very. These women are manipulative and control freaks. Much harder to control a middle-aged man than some kid. It sounds cool on the outside, especially for men, but these women are predators just like men who do the same thing. Of course with the double standards alive and well in this country the women never get even remotely close to the prison sentences a man would if he did the same thing.

• It's just sad that these teachers seem to think it's OK to get with Children...I don't understand, It used to be the safest place for your children to be....but then again....this has probably been going on for years! It's just sad!

• Odd, but I was thinking almost word for word, the post made by Bryan. Where were teachers like this when I was in high school? Although I am old enough now to see the bigger picture, I have to admit, at the time, I would have thought it was pretty damn awesome. I still don't condone this type of behavior, but the damage to a young male teen by actions of this sort, are most likely negligible, seeing that it was somewhat consensual. I am also surprised that so many people are shocked, and disgusted at alot of male responses to this story that spin this as positive rather than negative. Because it was a female teacher and a male teen, this type of thing takes on a less serious note with men that don't think with a fundamental religious mind. If this story was about a male teacher and a teen girl, it would be a completely different ballpark. Huge difference.

• Adolescent boys are easy prey, especially when the teachers are as attractive as this one. Can't these women find guys elsewhere? Or is it the excitement of doing what you're not supposed to that makes them do this kind of stuff?

• I am not understanding this new fad for 20 something teachers and mid-life crisis teachers seeking this attention from teenage boys ffs? Were'nt they ever teenage girls themselves and do they NOT realize teenage boys will never make good in the relationship department?? • What's creepy about this story is that Pamela Smart was that teacher in the Derry School system (town right next door to Londonderry), who had an affair with a boy in school where they plotted her husband's murder. This seems like it could have taken a similar turn...
