• The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it? Out of allllll the comments on this thread, and the other one, supporting Kristen and the family, Kristen's sister seizes on the one asshole who's got ugly shit to say. God bless the LEOs who have had to try and help this family for five years. God bless them. @ Good Judge ... if you were more familiar w/ this site, you woud understand what the caption is about. A commenter sometimes posts something that an editor uses to start a new thread, like this. Nobody at TCR is espousing that position, or making that comment. It is simply being highlighted, and put up for further discussion. In this instance, it's a comment from someone w/ a strong opinion. It's from someone who obviously doesn't support the idea of dancing for a living, and who points out that there are inherent dangers in doing so. What the commenter does not do, however, is "trash" Kristen. It's starting to sound to me like a bunch of the family members are projecting their own guilty conscious' onto complete strangers.

• And to Pete Kotz...the title of your blog really does need to be changed. It lowers your credence as a corrsepondent/writer. Like, "women wearing too short skirts asking for rape." It just maligns your own integrity as a true-crime writer, insults family & friends of all female victims, creates animosity as opposed to healthy-debate, and shows a missed 101 journalism class. You can do better.

• It is NEVER the woman's fault in these terrible, horrible, freaked-out situations (rape,murder,robbery). People need to do the right thing and bring this killer to court-room justice. Until that is done, no woman is safe. The man has killed and could kill again. Any where at any time a killer may act. It does not matter if one is a dancer, 7-11 clerk, nurse in a hospital, college student, Arizona politician, teacher, mother, wife, sister or friend. ALL responsibility lies at the feet of the murderer. It is the LAW and it is common sense. Until Dan Moore is behind bars for the rest of his sorry-arse life, a killer walks free. He alone is solely responsible and must be held accountable, in a court of law. Time will do that...just a matter of time. Condolences to all family, friends and co-workers.

• Also, if you'll notice, the date this thread started was March of last year. It is not recent. And if you read other stories on this site, you'll see that it's fairly common for one of the editors to do a follow up thread, based on something a particular commenter said. Please believe there is no conspiracy here. Nobody wants to benefit from Kristen's death. With all that you have to contend with, please don't waste your emotions and energy borrowing trouble where there is none. Most of us are on your side.

• Monica ... this is a second thread about Kristen, it's not the main thread where the majority of comments are posted. You can find the other one a couple of ways -- I go to the "search" box and type her name. Thanks for letting us know that you weren't able to post the other stuff to Kristen's web site. I have no doubt that David wrote what he said he wrote and tried to post it here. Please, don't let a couple of self-righteous assholes who don't know what assholes they are prevent you and David from coming here and talking or venting to the rest of us if you want or need to. Maybe you guys can try and ignore the trolls and whatever the problem is w/ the web site, take some deep breaths, and focus on the compassion and sympathy that so many are feeling for you.

• David sent me all the posts he wrote that were not allowed to be posted by this writer. I tried to post David's comments on our website for Kristen but was not able to copy and paste or save as a photo because it is a bitmap file. Verizon doesn't allow pictures from bitmap. Regardless of that, this website and story is turning into a circus and it's a sad miserable day when a young woman's senseless, brutal murder is argued about by people who want to say it was her fault...we don't say that when a person working the graveyard shift at 7-11 is robbed and killed...although they worked that shift knowing it was possible they could be robbed. I was an advocate for this website and believed the writer of this column was sincere but the more comments people put on this story the longer it stays at the top and the more his name is out there. I know how these things work as I've participated in them for other families who were trying to keep their loved one's story at the top. All of a sudden the title to this website has been changed to a reader says: KRISTEN PUT HERSELF IN DANGER WITH STRIPPER JOB!!! THAT'S A REALLY STAND UP THING TO DO PETE. YOU NEED TO REMOVE THIS STORY FROM THE INTERNET.... I won't promote this site any longer. Each time we comment the story stays at the top and I wont' be a part of racking up points on a website that serves no other purpose then to drag my daughter's memory thru the trash and make her the blame for her murder!!

• It's people like "A Friend" and other ignorant tards that are ruining this world. A working girl was murdered, and they don't care because her profession isn't "normal." Even after she's dead you label her a whore. You have no respect for the dead. You only say such things because it goes against a book that was written well over 2000 years ago. If the news articles omitted her profession, you wouldn't feel the way you do.

• To: "A Friend" Your comments are ridiculous. You obviously are spouting off about something you know nothing about. I encourage you to pursue some education into the amount of effort and time it takes to be a stripper. I have several friends who have been strippers. They're very intelligent girls, and also happen to be pretty. They use both to get ahead in life and thats their choice, not yours. My point is this. NO profession should have a reasonable risk of death, or abduction that we as a society are okay with. If you feel that the profession itself is sleazy, slutty, despicable, whatever.. petition to get it outlawed. You'll see just how quickly society disagrees with you. But regardless of your personal feelings as to what someone does, that does not make that person any less human and our need to protect them any less. For instance, what if your argument is used against you.. the police officers that protect us from criminals, they're constantly up against these vile, despicable types.. what if they die? is that okay because they chose that profession? Or the firefighter who dies in a fire. Or the soldier, who bleeds out on the battlefield. These professions run inherent risk, more risk than I would say a stripper runs, yet I bet your heart goes out to every single one of them that suffer as a result of tragedy that befell them. As my heart does. So, you can dislike a profession. You can dislike a person. We must still provide all people equal protection under the law.

• Haha.. Marie, you guys wanted equal opportunity, you got it. It goes both ways ;) And I don't care if it was Halloween, there's something fishy about a guy who knows how to dress up like a woman better than women. On our way back to the States from my first deployment, we had a port visit in Singapore, and we have port briefs before they let us out on liberty. Cross dressing is such a big thing around there that in our port brief we were taught to do Adam's Apple checks for those of us hanging out with "women" (Apparently this is less invasive/offensive than a nut-check) - Anyway, one of the guys on board had a few too many to drink and forgot his brief. We had pictures to prove it to him after he sobered up. *grin* I mean.. we wanted to stop him, but he was having such a great time! Who were we to ruin his night?

• Jinx, fortunately I only have a cell phone so I don't get bothered with telemarketers! But if I did, I would probably want to smack them with their own phones! And, I'm not so sure Dennis Rodman was straight! I might argue on that one! But, he did rock out those heels! Damn men! Why can't they just leave women things to women?!?! I had a friend once who dressed up as a girl for halloween one year. He came into where I worked and I didn't even know who he was! I was in shock! He wasn't exactly the hottest guy, but he made one hot a$$ chick! Me, him, and another friend went to a "club" we had and most of the guys hit on him instead me and out other friend, who was also a girl. We were pissed! One guy I knew in high school was a big homophob and he wanted to take "victoria" home that night! I told people I knew what happened and it got back to him. Yea, completely pissed off is a nice way of puttin it! I see him sometimes and I bust up laughing and he knows why too! I really get irked when men look better than me!

I have seen some gay men and drag queens who can walk in them better than some women can! But, I think I will pass on going to Manhole! Even though I'm halfway across the country from San Diego, if I ever went there, I think that wouldn't be on top of my list of places to visit! And yea, I know people don't always see eye to eye. But when people make comments like that, it irks me. I'm not saying I'm for stripping or would even do it. I have been asked to, but I know I lack the skill to do it! Just not something I would actually think about doing above anything else. But, if the economy keeps going like it is, who knows! I might need to! But to say something like what A. Friend said would be like saying a cop deserves to get shot or a fireman deserves to burn to death or a teacher deserves to be killed by one of their students or someone who works at a convience store deserves to be robbed and shot. Any profession has its risks and rewards. You could go jogging and get raped and/or killed. Stepping out your front door is dangerous anymore! You just never know who is lurking around the corner or who has a sick fascination with you.

• Well there's a place called Hillcrest (pronounced with a lisp) here in San Diego where plenty of men can strut their stuff in heels. They tend to hang out at club Manhole. Anyway, this site does a great job at bringing to light that there are some sick fucks running around in the world, it also makes it clear that there are some very closed minded/stubborn/hardheaded individuals that believe they're right, even when all angles of logic and reason are thrown in thier faces. I try not to get too worked up over these people, If everyone agreed we wouldn't have much to discuss here ;) "A friend" - I'm not gonna say that I don't like you.. I will say that on a scale of 1 - 10 that... Well I don't like you. I'm sure you're a good person though. Or something.

• I have argued with A. Friend and the other ignorant person, debbie downer (speaks volumes to her posts, doesn't it?!?!) about this on the actual story. They don't seem to care. Debbie downer said she will not apologize for thinking whore when she thinks of strippers. Or thinking that they get what's coming to them. Try to tell them it happens to other people in different professions, they just say they know that but had she not have been a stripper, this might not have happened to her. Yea, not every woman (and how many men can even walk in them?!) could do that! I can't wear anything other than flip flops or tennis shoes. So when I see a woman in heels, I'm jealous. When I see one dancing in them? It just blows my mind!!!!! It doesn't matter what lifestyle she chose to live. It was her choice, no one elses. And to sit here and degrade her even more after her death is just sick. A. Friend, grow some sympathy if you can. People like you really disgust me.

• I hardly think that the profession, or job that one does, has any bearing on if they become a victim of a hideous crime. This is something that develops in the warped mind of a predatory, sadistic, rabid, needs to be put down dog. Regardless to how anyone may feel, this is someone's loved one. There are plenty of women who are very self confident and secure with themselves who aren't supermodels. • @ Jinx I think ur absolutley right as far as those woman posting things that all but glorify (in some cases do glorify) stalking and murder. I as a woman think NOTHING, proffesion or otherwise warrants murder. (except of course) self-defense) Also I find some of those post come from angry men who either have been shunned or used by a stripper. Or simply HATE women. Its crazy that any woman would justify saying these things about a fellow woman's out and out homicide, talk about insecurity. • Dear Jinx, I am an overweight woman (not american tho) and I have absolutely nothing against strippers :) On the contrary - I don't agree with the article at all - I doubt many woman could do those tricks GOOD strippers do there.... And indeed - dealing with groping and drunk clients all the time - it takes A LOT of skills to maintain their happyness and not have to humiliate yourself below the grass level. Maybe "I hate strippers" should go and try how they manage to do some "Pole-dance" and then we'll talk again how easy and pointless it is. And excuse me - but working as a stripper is mych safer way than living off LOANS! (You do have to pay them back you know!)

• Yeah, I can imagine, any job that makes you wear a "face" all day can get exhausting. To not be able to have your own mood show, regardless of how much your personal life is weighing on you, or risk losing a source of income in a time where income is especially hard to come by, WOULD suck. I can imagine it would be 10-fold for someone who has to deal with some pretty disgusting people throughout the night. I know I'm going to get flamed for saying what I think is pretty obvious, but I find that the typical "I hate strippers and everything they stand for" person is the overweight, lonely woman who despises someone for getting more attention on a regular basis. Women with self confidence have no problem going with their men to a strip club.. Or maybe I've just been lucky. Flame on, flamers.

I work at a front desk and let me tell you it requires no brains, effort or anythng else, even the ugliest of people can do my job. When i come home i'm exhausted from having to be "on" all day. The smiles, the cheery hellos and "how can i help you" can take a lot of energy out of you 8 hours a day. So i can only imagine how exhausting it is to be constantly flirting with men you have no interest in, dancing all night, dealing with drunk people, husbands wives who are jealous and being constantly referred to as a Slut or Whore by every female in AMERICA! Everyone just needs to let it go.
