Here's a classy episode in parenting out of Philadelphia: It seems that 47-year-old John Benson and 31-year-old Sheakia Stubbs decided to rob the Platinum and Ice jewelry store. And since this would be a family outing, they took their 4-year-old son along as a learning experience...

Police say doucherific parents (mom's pictured above) entered the store with the boy on Saturday afternoon. They grabbed a tray of rings worth $100,000 and bolted.

The 4-year-old boy identified his mom and dad as the suspects; they were later captured at a motel.

Employees gave chase and caught them nearby. That's when Benson pulled a knife and started swinging at the store owner, letting go of his son's hand in the process. The couple then ran away, leaving the boy behind.

The store owner received a dozen stitches from a slash to the neck, but the boy wasn't hurt. He did, however, help police identify mom and dad. They were arrested at a motel that night.

Not surprisingly, they never bothered to ask how their son was doing.

They're both charged with robbery, child endangerment and attempted murder.
