Is it just me, or are practically all violent crimes drug related? No one is murdering anyone for alcohol or tobacco. Just add a few more victims to the many more who have lost their lives because of our failed war on drugs.

Where there's demand, there is supply. As long as people continue to consume drugs, there will be drug dealers and drug related crime, committed by both the dealers and the addicts who will try to feed their habits.

You can't deal with the supply unless you deal with the demand and nobody has a clue how to do that. People just don't care, all they care about is getting their fix and having fun all the while helping in the breakdown of civilised society.

Hard drugs are a scourge on society.

And i agree with the above poster, SWAT team needs to improve their aim, they should have shot his balls right off, at best he'll die a painful, horrible death all the while knowing he has no balls, at worst, he'll be in prison but at least he won't be able to propagate his genes and he'll be ball-less.

People have to have job satisfaction or they have to have a job they can stand o long as it make enough money to sight see, fund their hobbies or whatever. Otherwise they are just a rat in a cage. In which case I don't blame them for the drugs.

Those cops need to do a little more practice at the range. A few inches higher, and we could have closed this case for good, and moved on.

Now this dilrod is going to waste taxpayers dollars in a case that will have no ending, and absolutely no benefit to the people, aside from him being "off the streets" for awhile. The taxpayers are even going to foot the bill for his medical recovery.

When he goes to prison, he'll find out just how worthless he really is. Most people like that think they're unstoppable. They typically walk around acting as though their the baddest on the block. I hate to break it to you, but there's always someone out there who is bigger and badder, so he may want to get his head out of his ass before going to prison. Gangsta or not, right now he could very well be Bubba's bitch.

It's too bad the cops didn't raise their guns a bit higher. He should have been shot in the head, not the lower body.

Just to clear up a few things that are reported incorrectly. First of all Phillips was shot by two Tulsa Police Detectives, no SWAT team was involved. The reason the shots were low was due to the fact Phillips was standing in front of a large window. The two detectives shot low to prevent any possible injury to innocent citizens. Actually the low shots were pretty effective, half of Phillips penis was removed along with both testicles. I am a retired 30 year member of TPD. I am proud to say the guys involved did a wonderful job getting this evil person off the streets.

Mike, good job to your officers in shooting this guy's balls off. Seems pretty clear he had it coming. Did you happen to also read the part of Xad's post about the "Drug War" being unwinnable due to irrepressible demand? Do you have a response to the argument that if drugs were decriminalized, heavily regulated and highly taxed, it would greatly reduce violent crime caused by having a black market in drugs?
