• They should send him back to China. In China, if you are convicted of a crime on foreign soil, you would likely have another trial back in China. The Chinese would certainly try him since he killed another Chinese national. If convicted, he would be executed in China. 

• @John I am in China, and the Chinese courts would have just put a bullet in his head no matter what he pleaded.

• Crap. We should have cut his Fn head off. We don't need whacko's from China or anywhere else here, we have enough of our own.

• @ Christina - This could have happened at West Point although not likely. They could have picked up a chair & smacked him if they didn't want to get close. I blame certain people. Violence never solved anything some people say. It can, but it should be used judiciously and sparingly.

• It's not a matter of evil at all in this case. There was malice fueling his action, he is seriously imbalanced man who obviously suffered from severe neurological problems. It is difficult to define evil in useful terms, but the impulsive and passionless public decapitation of a friend is an act of insanity, not evil. Upon objective analysis, the world contains many less villains than previously assumed, and far more victims.

• I understand what your saying John. I don't think he was an evil person in the terms of the way he lived his life, but I do think evil took over him when his strive for the perfect ideal life came to an end. Maybe he was the type of guy who couldn't meet the traditional expectations he set or his family set for him. I knew of a girl in college like that and it ended in horror as well.

• He attacked her in a cafe at lunch time, and a couple guys maybe, couldn't restrain him before he CUT HER HEAD OFF??.. wtf?.. I understand he had a knife, but he doesn't appear very big.. All the people in the cafe just stood around while he was killing her, THEN DECAPITATED HER!... To not even TRY to hit him over the head to stop him is almost as horrific as the actual crime.. SHAMELESS ASS COWARDS.

• @ Kelly & cw - I am not saying this is an evil act. I am not saying that he doesn't deserve the death penalty or life imprisonment. If he had someone pull him aside and say hey buddy there is more than 1one fish in the sea. His actions around his roommates remind me of a dog I had. The dog never got enough food in while in its' litter. So it developed a strategy of covering food in the dog dish with it's paw to prevent other litter mates from eating it. Even after it was grown and did not have to fight it would always over eat & over drink. I think this guy group up in a a rat race like most of do. His was a little more stressful. He felt that if he didn't have the best education & the best wife (trophy wife) he was a failure. He was wound too tightly. He committed an evil act for which he deserves capital punishment. I do not think that he woke up every morning thing how he could grift, steal, molest or anything else. I do not think he is inherently evil. If he would have had one good friend or mentor he could have been talked out of his problem before it led to this. But that is a could have been.

• This bizarre crime without explanation occurred at VA Tech, where the VA Tech shooter claimed many lives in 2008. • Hey John-Here is the definition of "inherent" : existing in someone or something as a permanent and inseparable element, quality, or attribute: an inherent distrust. I'm thinking this nut sack qualifies. But hey, it's not what you or I think about him that matters all that much. He'll get his share of jealous bullshit when he's incarcerated. He'll have many heads to cradle.

• Well, I think it's pretty evil to stab some girl and cut off her head just because she wouldn't go on a date with you.

• It is leverage. If the DA always sought the death penalty whether a criminal pleaded out or not, then all criminals would fight in court. Many have public defenders so it is not costing them anything. If I were a D.A., my decision would be based on "public resources", the wishes of the family and the message I wanted to send to potential lawbreakers. Back in China he would last less than 3 months. I don't think that this guy is inherently evil

• Wow. Can you imagine how devastated the fiance must be? Oh, that's so horrible. So horrible.

• Why would pleading guilty spare him the death penalty? I would think it should speed it up. Who made that stupid ass rule up?

• He wanted a good job & a family. He was wound way too tightly. He had no faith that things would turn out alright. Why can't we send him back to China? A Chinese (foreign national) murder a Chinese (foreign national). Why can't our law enforcement cooperate with theirs. He could be tried by Chinese courts & sent back there. We are left with the bill, 1 million plus.
