He was already a convicted felon when he put a gun in a car dealers face, was under suspicion in several other investigations, and the hacked up the body of a girl he knew.
"On the facebook site, you all call us all sorts of names while defending someone that chopped up a body. It is not the same as a butcher from Kroger.
"I want you to imagine someone chopping up Derek's body. Bit by bit. Commenting on how much his thigh weighs. Cutting off his arm, his head, cutting his torso in two pieces because it won't fit into one garbage bag. Putting various pieces in bags. Then putting them in the trunk of a car. Stopping by Home Depot to pick up some lye on the way to the Jersey shore.
"They bury the pieces of his body in different places. You wait for 6 years not knowing where his body is. You watch your mother and father die a little more every day while they live in absolute torment not being able to put his body to rest.
"How mad did you just get? How sick did the thought of that just make you? How about you quit telling us what a peach of a guy he is. We aren't buying it.
"You can talk about us being rednecks, say things about trailers, but we live in nice safe houses, have neighborhoods that kids are safe to play outside, and nobody chops up girls, or boys, bodies. Until your brother came to town."
