Jason Evers: A 3-Year-Old Killed in a Kidnapping Case & the Mystery Man Who Stole His ID

• Well Bro why don't you tell us the details behind the case.  Just what part did Jason Ever's own family play in all of this... including the kidnapping and ransom?  I'm all ears. Have you shared this information with your brother's attorney, the police and the prosecutor?  A dear friend of mine witnessed your brother walk out of the YMCA property with Jason riding on his shoulders.  Her testimony in court helped put your bro behind bars. What did you witness? Yes I know that Jason Ever's family were not members of the Y and that Jason and and his six year old sister Amy should not have been on the property, but that does not in any way excuse your brother for murdering an innocent three year old child.

• Well I'm the Brother of Adrian Williams... and everyone who is on this sight giving there 2 cents about a case they no nothing about need to shut the hell up.  Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion  but to sit there and say someone should die or rot in prision when you don't know the details behind the case is recklass and ignorant... Because what you all don't know is how much the "victom" Jason Ever's  own family played a part in all of this.... including the kidnapping and ransom...  and these are details you WILL NOT find in the newspaper...

• I don't think any person who takes a life should be released from prison early for "good behavior," or any other reason for that matter.  If you take a person's life, then why should that person be given a free life? Let him rot there.

• It's funny reading back just a little over a mouth ago everyone's theory's. The kid just didn't want to go back to his own Country. J's theory is the funniest. • I'v known a few people over the years who have gotten new identities this way. Most for a new license. Birth certificates are not attached to death certificates so one needs to research archived newspapers and find someone who died as a baby who is around your year of birth. Then get the birth certificate (not that hard) with that you can get other simple ID's and then it's safe to walk into a DMV and apply for a Drivers License. The people I new got it for that reason. They still kept their real identities. This guy just happened to find Jason's obituary and went for it. It was random.

• The Canadians are always so happy because they have free medical and dental, something we should have.

• I honestly never heard of Johnny Gosch until this article. So last night i goggled it. The way i read it, Johnny normally didn't do papers alone. And father got a phone call (before 6am?) and didn't go? I dont know what is fact and what is what Johnny's mother believes. I prefer to read the facts not the possiblities. and honestly, the facts as listed don't make no sense! All these witnesses and police didn't do anything with them? Maybe i'm thinking as a mother but i can see alot of cover ups in this case. And if, it is all true and Johnny is alive then could it be a possiblity that Jason Evers was a part of whatever happened to Johnny? We all as a society know the data of missing children. And as a parent, if i had a missing child, i would hold out for a return of my child if there has been no remains ever found. But Johnny's mother seems to have gone around the bend on this. If everything she is claiming is true, then wouldn't she be quiet and do whatever she could to protect her son? And then again, is it possible that Jason Evers was killed by accident by this same outfit and then to protect himself Johnny stole the id so he could live and not be found out? To many questions lead to more questions. Would be interested in knowing what has happened since 1996 with this mystery man. Can not seem to find any info on the internet about this. Boy, the CIA, FBI, local police, Pictures the mother claims is her son as a youngest, Local business man, Johnny's own father. I'm so confused. If i didn't know better, i would swear this is a book i'm reading and someone stole it and posted this as a actualy true story.

• Not to be too much of the conspiracy theorist, but this sort of sounds like the m.o. of child trafficking organized criminal enterprise. It gets so deep if you read about Paul Bonnacci's type of stories. When you consider that he was awarded what like, a half million dollar settlement by the accused? I believe he told of kids being killed and their identities used by others. There's a lot of speculation in that Johnny Gosch case, and other comments have been made by people around that that make this sound like sex trafficking. Fact is, kids disappear and are subjected to it and never see the light of day. So, whether it's them disappearing and reappearing this way, or their kidnappers adding to their enterprises identity theft, who knows.

• John - I said the same thing to some co-workers when I was reading this story. Apparently, so long as they haven't paid any social security taxes in, there's really nothing the gov. does to flag a SSN for the person being deceased (according to the two previous government employees I brought it up with)... Because the whole point of the SSN is taxation, anyway. After doing some research on it yesterday, I found that until 1986, people under the age of 14 didn't have a SSN. Because of its original purpose, they typically weren't bringing in significant income to tax. (it wasn't until 1990 that children at one year of age had to have a SSN to be claimed as a dependent). Seeing as how Jason Evers was only three when he disappeared in 1982, it's POSSIBLE that the Mystery Man used his information to apply for an entirely new SSN. The death certificate doesn't even go to the courts unless there's an estate/will to settle.. Seems like a pretty counter-productive system...

• If they can never ID him, then they can't know if he is here illegally. They should never release him. • I am confused. - Social Security #s are stored in a database table? Right? - Specifically the database has tables & & fields. Right? - So how come an additional field can't be added where you can check deceased? Or do they have one already & they don't query it? - Run background check & find you are looking at a ghost. • I think the mystery man is too young to have been involved in the death of Jason Evers. My guess is (and I'm NOT trying to start a debate here, just saying!) he is an illegal alien. I guess that because if he were a criminal, his fingerprints would probably be on file. I'm not making a political statement, so I hope no one gets worked up.

• The boy pretending and the real boy are apparently within a year in age.. any chance poser Jason Evers, is the real Jason Evers? That would be an awfully strange twist. Still don't know why he wouldn't be talking though. Maybe the bones were of a different child, and he kidnapped the kid originally planning to raise him as his own and get the ransom too? Hmmm

• What I would like to know is if when the real Jason's body was retrieved how was it ID'ed?? That was the early 80's DNA was barely thought of. And from what I heard the body that was in the grave was nothing but bones. That was a statement made by the sister in an article. So I CAN NOT wait to hear the outcome of this story.

• This breaks my heart even though this little boy passed so long ago. What a monster. I hope he doesn't get paroled. Please keep us updated. And I wonder who that guy is. What do police do when they can't identity a criminal?
