• Wow, I was just looking Michelle up to see what happened with the original bust...now I see she got busted again...good thing she had a badge, taser, pepper spray and gun on her belt for 5 years. And being a graduate of UW-Platteville, I can say that the majority of the police officers in that town are dickheads. Most cops are powertripping a-holes to begin with, but they really get off on busting college kids for underage drinking and the like. Michelle should get the book thrown at her (TWICE!!!) to make her an example of, kinda like she probably made an example of many of the college kids she arrested.

• She needs an intervention, jail and rehab while serving her sentence. She will probably just get jail time.

• Yeah, apparently her restrictions weren't enough bc she just got busted on October 4th for having heroin, crack pipes, coke and weed in her car with her brother in greenfield. Shes not a nice person btw, she tasered my friend in downtown platteville after we got out of the bars after a few drinks. She handcuffed him, then tasered him, then she slipped on some ice and charged him with felony battery of an officer even though he was tasered on the ground and handcuffed and she slipped. Shes worthless and I hope she rots in prison, and getting busted again just sealed her fate.

• i think all you people are a-holes who are commenting on this site. People make mistakes. She is actually an amazing officer and person. Yes what she did is wrong but who are you to say she is a moron. really?! do you even know her? she is actually one of the nicest, giving, lovable person you would ever meet. • Great headlines make great stories. But dose anyone care that this a human with real addiction issues. What if she was on Intervention??! Addiction hits doctors, yes the doctor that may be saving your life or the nurse who is caring for you can be an addict. How do I know this becouse I personally know people from ALL walks of life that are addicts. I pray this saves Michelle's life and maybe open other people's lives! • God's cop, you're absolutely correct: under Wisconsin Statute, cops under investigation (even those under federal indictment) are always suspended with pay. I agree with you: it's insane to keep paying a jacked up cop while she awaits trial. I'm originally from Platteville, and I worked with the cops for nearly 20 years. Most of those employed by PPD are really great people. I met Doug McKinley, the current chief, on his first day as a rookie cop. Doug's truly a great guy. I just don't understand how this happened on his watch. The PPD did not arrest Salentine; the FBI arrested her when she arrived for her evening shift. When the feds searched her home, they found not only pot but also 1 kilo of cocaine; in addition, they found a lot of paraphernalia--pipes, scales, and bags. The feds are keeping a very tight lid on everything. It turns out, Salentine's lesbian partner and another woman were also arrested; however, the feds have not released their names. We do know a federal judge released Salentine into the custody of her parents and she didn't have to post bond; however, she does have an ankle monitor and must be at her parent's home between 10 PM and 6 AM. There's a whole host of other restrictions--such as, prior to a Dr issuing a RX for an antibiotic, Salentine must get permission from the feds. Since her arrest, Chief McKinley has met with Salentine's supervising sergeant who reports when Michelle showed up for work, he never knew which Michelle he was working with. I don't know if the department is trying to provide Salentine with a psych scenario or if they're just covering their ass. Obviously, the Chief and all his sworn officers need a crash course in spotting junkies, dealers, and crack heads!
