Patrick Foster, Hero Cabbie, Dies After Being Shot 5 Times By Darreyl Garner

​It was 3 a.m. on March 13 when cab driver Patrick Foster was summoned by a passenger in the Chicago suburb of Waukegan. As they drove to Zion, Darreyl Garner tried to rob Foster. But something went very wrong...

Darryel J. Garner shot Patrick Foster five times -- and still managed to get his ass kicked
​Garner ended up shooting Foster five times -- three times in the neck, once in the jaw, and once in the back. Another shot went through the windshield.

That left Garner out of bullets. Despite his wounds, Foster jumped into the back seat and beat Garner unconscious with his thermos. Then he called 911 and his wife.

When police arrived, they found Foster pinning the creep down so he could be arrested. He'd only been on the job two months after being laid off as a truck driver.

Garner would later say that unemployment and depression drove him to robbery. Waaa! He was charged with attempted homicide.

But that charge with now be upgraded to homicide. After spending two months in the hospital, Foster succumbed to his injuries yesterday and passed away.
