• Controlling - not controling - damn it, I tried to correct it before I sent it. I hate bad grammar and spelling.

• Ok. I'll admit it. I am a control freak. Yup, that is me. I have to control everything around me or it drives me nuts. I think it stems from having a controlling Dad. The fun things you learn from your parents. Sure, I am a control freak but when it comes to my sons I am a pushover. Sure, I do not let them stick screwdrivers in sockets and no, they are not allowed to beat each other or other kids up. But I do not scream, hit, pinch, no mental abuse....none of it -- I use my control "freakiness" for good - my kitchen is clean when I go to bed and my sons shirts match their pants. That is the extent to which I will let mine show it's ugly head. Other folks don't have or chose not to control themselves. I know first hand what mental abuse is all about and have chosen not to do that to my kids. We aren't all that bad, honestly. Sounds to me like the tool in the story has so many issues that being controling is the tip of the ice burg.

• I'm sorry that you feel personally attacked Sangelia but I didn't say a single thing about sugar and sweetness in anyones life let alone yours, so I don't really know where that response is coming from. And as far as thinking that I am stating it is ok for a control freak to abuse people where the hell is that coming from? All I said is they are not one in the same, not "hey it's ok for them to abuse people if it's just mental or emotional abuse" just as you have unfortunately had bad experiences with control freaks in your life (which I have as well I just choose not to discuss it) I have met people who need to control almost all aspects of their lives but when it comes to family it's adorable to watch them cave to the wish of their kids and the whim of their wife. Again what I am saying is that not every single person who is a control freak is an abusive person whether we are talking about physical emotional or verbal abuse. And for the record I agree any type of abuse is dispicable and should never under any circumstances be tolerated.

• @mishi i spoke from personal experience. both my dad and my ex were experts at mental abuse. though i do have several memories of being at the end of the physical form. as in being choked at least twice till i blacked out. and that was when i was a kid. not even into puberty. burnt with a cigarette. though my dad claimed at the time it was a accident. both my dad and my ex were very much control freaks. even though it has been more than a decade since the last of them. I still have issues in how I see myself as a person. I do have help in my current man. who is wonderful and is a angel in alot of ways. he hates those who think it is ok to be a control freak that needs to abuse others to get their way. so do not think that some of us here have had sugar and sweetness for lives. when some of us have gone thru simular experiences.

• I fully understand that all abuse is not physical I was simply pointing out that the way it was stated in your first post is that the two go hand in hand, I know plenty of "control freaks" who are not abusive irritating maybe but not abusive.

• @mishi, true there is a huge difference between an abuser and a control freak, but most abusers are control freaks. (However not all of control freaks are abusers) Being controlled to a certain extent is a form of abuse, not all abuse is physical.

• So, it doesn't seem like the contract will hold up with police! He's such an idiot. It doesn't take a genius to know a woman who would sign that was under duress. Kudos to his father! We cannot blame this on bad up bringing. Unlike Smith, his father does have a back bone and morality. I love that its a $100,000 bond, and that its obvious his parents wouldnt put up that type of money if they put him in there. I haven't got to say this in a while, I sure hope his cell mate butt rapes him. =)

• Sangelia: there is a very big difference between a control freak and an abusive son of a bitch, please try not to make it seem as they are one in the same. One may find it easier to live a life structured by someone else but I'm pretty sure not all of them are willing to take a fist to the face because it gets Mr. Punchy off.

• so the jerk thought that he could make abuse legal by having her signed a contract. someone should point out to him that even thru a contract. abuse is illegal and the same with a forced contract is illegal. as for pregnancy. both my grandmothers got married at 19. one had a ..honeymoon.. baby. even my mom got married at 19. @Belinda how is she a idiot? for not seeing what kind of a male he is? when you are under a control freak's thumb. it is hard to get out from under it. especially for those who grew up under one. not saying that he dad might have been a control freak. but if one grew up having a dad for one. you tend to look for one as a partner. and the type of male he was. there was the implied threat to her family if she did not comply
