Though Christopher Tomsett calls Sacramento, California home, it was authorities in Canada who first caught on to the Douglass Middle School teacher's creepier pastimes.
In March, an undercover Canadian officer hit the jackpot when he discovered the user of a peer-to-peer file sharing network distributing more than 11,000 files -- most of which were illegal in over 100 countries.
The computer's IP address was shared with the FBI, who discovered that the 43-year-old Californian wasn't simply sharing his wealth of child pornography with other pervs, but was also trolling the Internet in search of "smooth bottom boy" victims to help make his fantasies come true.
This month, police also discovered a Craigslist user account belonging to Tomsett, which he allegedly used to solicit sex from children -- or at least childlike men.
While most of the ads were extremely explicit in nature, the majority of them listed Tomsett as a slender male in his 30s, 5'11, around 185 to 190 pounds looking for "a smooth young boy to play with."
In one ad he wrote: "You must be young (the younger the better) and smooth -- hairy is a turn-off for me. All races cool. Into...nude wrestling, maybe kink, but mostly into aggressive play with a young guy. Can host or travel. Send stats and age as a minimum for any chance of a response. Don't ask for a pic if you don't send one yourself. If you're not young, no response. Sounds picky but I'm tired of 45 year-olds telling me they're a boy."
In another, he more specifically states: "looking for a smaller smooth submissive boy -- the younger the better. Into almost anything you can think of, from laying nake in bed all day...and kink. Dad/son, coach/jock, or paperboy scenes possible, but in the end I just want a boy who wants a dad to take charge and have fun. Send age/stats and what you're looking for. Prefer under 21 unless you're young looking and smooth."
Apparently, those are the tamer of the messages. And when one undercover responded to the ad, Tomsett happily obliged him with even more explicit sexual preferences -- mostly of the illegal variety.
Needless to say, Tomsett was arrested on May 13. He now faces one count of receipt and distribution of child pornography as well as another count of possession of child pornography.
We're also pretty sure he won't be returning to his teaching position -- which he's held for the past six years -- anytime soon.
