Alisa Loump, a 23-year-old belle from Ephrata, Pennsylvania, was immersed in a passionate romance with a man from Indiana she met on the internet. Despite this being the safest place to find lasting, committed love, mother Jennie Loump didn't approve...

So Alisa and her long-distance sweetheart, 18-year-old Antoine Dewayne Walker, decided the only way to deal with maternal disapproval is to kill it. That's just common logic.

On Tuesday, as Jennie slept, Alisa prepared an 8-quart pot of boiling water on the stove, while Walker talked her through it on the phone. Then she went to Jennie's room and poured the pot on Jennie's face.

The screaming prompted Alisa's grandma, who also lives at the home, to call 911.

Officers arrived to find Jennie screaming and crying. Her skin blistered and peeled as she was helicoptered to a hospital, where she was placed in a medically induced coma. She's now in critical condition, and doctor's aren't sure if she'll live. But even is she does, she'll face a life of permanent pain and disfigurement.

Alisa, who'd been dating Antoine for eight months, is charged with attempted homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide, assault and recklessly endangering. Walker, who confessed to the plot, has been arrested in Indiana and will be extradited to Pennsylvania. He's charged with attempted homicide and conspiracy as well.
