Twelve-year-old Amber White is now in the safety of
her family's mobile home in Shreveport, Louisiana since she was found earlier this
week after a three-day abduction. But new details of her ordeal have
emerged. See update after the jump...
Twelve-year-old Amber White, who had been missing since
Sunday when she was last seen at a neighborhood pool in Shreveport, LA, was
found safe earlier today at an undisclosed location in Shreveport, according to
state authorities and the FBI.
White is now with family members at the Shreveport Police
Complex and is talking with investigators.
White went missing Sunday afternoon when her parents went to
pick her up at a neighborhood pool but she was nowhere to be found.
Acting on a tip that two witnesses had seen a girl matching
White's description climb into a blue 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass, police the next
day located the car abandoned.
By late Monday afternoon police had two men in custody.
Henry Lee, 25, was arrested after police traced the
abandoned Cutlass back to him. He's been charged with one count of aggravated
kidnapping of a child. A second man, 19-year-old Brandon Player, has been
charged with one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
UPDATE: Police believe three others may have been involved in Amber's abduction.
Missing since Sunday afternoon, it is now known that Amber
emerged from her kidnapping sometime around midnight Tuesday when one or more
of her captors dropped her off at a convenience store.
According to reports, the girl told her father who came to
get her after she called him, "They [the people who snatched her] decided to
let me go."
Initially, two men were arrested and taken into custody
after authorities traced a vehicle used in the abduction back to them.
Brandon Player, 19, was charged with contributing the
delinquency of a minor. He's been released on bail. Twenty-five-year-old Henry
E. Lee was hit with a kidnapping charge.
Lee's charge, however, has now been upgraded to aggravated
rape.
With Amber now safe, investigators are trying to cobble
together exactly what happened to her. It is believed that over the course of
her abduction, she was taken to various locations. Authorities also believe
there are others still at-large who participated in the kidnapping.
According to reports out of Shreveport, Lee has been
identified as a friend of a friend of the White family.
