"I also went to DLI, recently. What most of you don't realize is that shot like this happens most every day.
"Gangs come from different towns to harass DLI students all the time. Guess what their initiation right is? To find marines and hurt them.
"Before I arrived there, a young male marine was stabbed multiple times by gang members. His chest is a maze of scar tissue because they wanted to HURT a military member, for FUN. TO PROVE THEY BELONGED, TO PROVE THEY WERE TOUGH. And we aren't allowed to "protect" ourselves.tell me how this is right. We are expected to take the high road.
