• An old neighbor, can we assume you reported this to the police? Also, not to nitpick at you, but this is a personal pet peeve, I have noticed a LOT of people do is use "I seen" as the past tense of "see." It's "I SAW," such a simple thing, it seems like there's little excuse to get that wrong, whether you dropped out of high school, got a GED, or whatever. Again, I'm not trying to pick on you. I hear adults even at my job using "I seen," but it's just time to stop!

• i seen her about a week ago at the mcdonalds mt washington. which i work at. she was in the drive-through driving a dark grey/ metallic blue car. and a man was in the passenger seat.

• I know Brittney personally. She had her issues. She had cleaned her life up. She was at her Grandmother's house and saw the guy driving past. She walked to the front of the house, by herself, to confront him. This is how he got her. There were people around just not right on top of her. As for Vernon, he has a history with another girl, he spent 10 years in jail for a similar act. She had been seen multiple times since battered and bruised with this a@@ not letting her get more than a few feet away. Even if she was irrisponsible enough to try and contront him by herself at this point he is still holding her against her will. As for the body that was found, it is believed that the person was dead before Brittney went missing. I personally hope for all involved that Brittney is returned, safe and sound, to her family that love and are missing her right now.

• @ Louisvilleknown If she was with a friend why were there no witnesses when she disappered? True, I might not know all the facts behind what happened, but the one fact remains, in the above story it says that her family knew of the shit for brains asswipe and that the daughter was planning on testifying against him. They also knew something of his background. This in itself would be more than grounds enough to want to protect their daughter until after the court date. Apparantly they did not care enough for their daughters safety to follow thru.

• Well lets set the story straight, she was at her grandmothers house and she was not "off alone somewhere." She was swimming with a friend the last time she was seen. So do not down the family saying they left her by herself. I can say that if you read the America's most wanted and the Louisville KY news channel stories you maybe able to get your facts straight. As for the age of consent being raised to 21, well if it was raised to 21, then kids would be making mistakes well into their late twenties. Raising the age of consent is only further delaying maturity, not fixing the problem.

• angelica, 21 may not be the age that consent should be set at, but it also depends on each individual. I know people that are well over 18 or 21 that make bad choices. Don't take it so personal...how old are you? :}

• Marks theory is correct, as a former Meth user myself, I can almost 100% assure she relapsed and is back in her Co dependent relationship ship, addicts often relapse, it's part of the addiction, it doesn't mean she is a lost cause, from what I've read the reason this crack head dude is a sex offender is because of his involvment with her. If I am correct and she relapsed with this POS Guy, then as an addict, she needs to take responsibility for her addiction, I USED METH AT THE AGE OF 15 BECAUSE I WANTED TO, I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY ADDICTION, I do not blame anyone else for my problems, and being in rehab she should have been taught to do the same thing. One question though: this this Guy rape her or was their consentual sex between a dealer and a junkie wanting to get high for free??

• What a horrible situation for a parent to be in knowing that in the best case scenario, your daughter's rehab didn't take and she willingly chose to go back to a life of drugs with the guy she said she was going to testify against, or the worst case scenario is that she was kidnapped by him to prevent her testimony and will most likely never be seen alive again. I can't imagine how that must feel. However, does this guy have a Sex Offender history other than getting caught having had sex with a minor, being Britney herself? Is a serial Sexual Offender, or just obsessed with Britney? Anyone know or have any links that tell that part of the story more? Personally, from the sounds of it, she probably went willingly and is picking up her co-dependent drug-fueled relationship with this guy.

• How do we know for certain that she didn't assist in the hanging? We can only hope she didn't. And one can only assume that he got her hooked all over again with the meth. That stuff is nasty! Makes people do all sorts of scary stuff. I really, really hope she makes it out of this terrible situation alive!

• I agree with everyone, this will more then likely have a bad ending, I pray that it doesn't, but it more then likely will end very sadly. But I agree with ProblemSolver, why wasn't her family or her parents helping her be safe? Why didn't they make sure someone was with her at all times? I can see how they might have thought that everything was going to be ok since she had kicked the meth problem and they thought she was doing good and could handle herself, but come one! She was supposed to testify in court against him and they knew he was out and about and had a history of stalking among other crimes. It's like when I was getting a restraining order against my ex, after I had kicked him out of my apartment he literally camped out in his car right in front of my apartment. I couldn't leave my apartment and the one time that I tried to leave he confronted me and when I refused to talk to him he started to call me a whore (among other names) and began hitting me. I called the apartment security and they contacted police and put a search out for him. Even though I had told my parents I didn't want them to get involved (I was too embarassed about the situation), they still came to my apartment and made me leave and stay at their house. The entire week I couldn't even step into the front yard without someone being with me. And that entire week my ex and his friends were driving around my parent's house and my work place. Needless to say I got my restrainging order, but I didn't really need it since the next day I saw him driving by my apartment in his friend's car; I called the police and he got arrested. I guess my point is, is that her family knew that this guy was out and about and no matter what the case her family should have watched her more, especially since the she had been kidnapped by this guy before. Also, why weren't police helping with this? Why didn't they have someone watching her or why wasn't this guy locked in jail until the case?

• The fact he has a history of stalking isn't comforting either, perhaps he stalked her too beforehand and didn't just happen upon her by chance. I hate to agree this is likely another bad ending scenario, but it looks that way...still I reserve room for a faint ghost of hope thet find her her safe and alive. He didn't necessarily kidnap her from how it reads, less threatening means of con could have been used like the promise of drugs, or perhaps expressions of apology and remorse. (i'm sorry baby, you know i love you, i've been clean for months and going to NA meetings...blah...) Then after he had her under his control again his real face came out. (not enough is known at the moment, and young teens often tell their parents what they want to hear, so her statement of how she hated him, and planned to testify is still as questionable as forced abduction.) It's always confusing when so little is known, and the behavior of meth-heads is unpredictable. One thing that strikes me as ODD is why he would keep her alive for 11 days after abducting her if he simply wanted to silence her from testifying? Why not just kill her and throw her body in some remote location? That makes me think theres probably more of a Fatal Attraction/Obsession thing going on with the man and he's trying to isolate her from others and control the object of his warped affection.

• Having known a few addicted individuals here and there, it could be her family thought she was okay and could handle herself. I imagine this shit sack would have threatened her to get her to comply with his request (get in the car) or some such. Just a guess...

• One other thing that everyone is overlooking, Why was she out and about by herself? If she was going to testify against him why would she put herself in this situation of going somewhere alone? She and her family (PARENTS) knew of him and should have been looking out for their daughter better. God forbid if something like this were to happen to either of my kids. I will take out a second mortgage on my house to hire the best possible lawyer to make DAMN sure the asshole gets off. Then once his ass is on the streets again it's open season!

• sad story. Seems that this POS is controling her with more drugs. So now there is going to be a possible murder charged as well? Sad story all around. this POS sounds as if he may go completely over the edge. I hope they find her very soon. If not, who knows whats going to happen to her. if he's got her junked up on meth, wouldn't take much to junk her higher and kill her. or worst, claim she killed the homeowner in a meth fog! • The obvious question here is why a man with such a violent history was not in jail? I saw this on Issues last night,and people who claimed to see them said,Britney had been beaten. She had her eyes blackened and her face was swollen. This is going to be a fcked up ending.
