Just after midnight, police in Albuquerque found a barefoot, 6-year-old autistic boy walking the streets alone in the rain. Officers stopped to help the boy, but he couldn't tell them where he lived. So police started asking neighbors if they knew the lad...

They finally found one who pointed to the home of his mother, 24-year-old Orlinda Plummer.

The cops went to the house to find a drunk man passed out on the couch. The man admitted being the boy's grandfather, but said the kid wasn't his responsibility. How classy.

That's when a neighbor pointed out Plummer, who was walking away from the home. When questioned, she said she was leaving because she didn't want to get involved. She denied being the kid's mother, even though she had his name tattooed on her neck.

But being a moron, she couldn't hold her story. She soon admitted she'd been drinking and claimed to be the boy's stepmother. When that didn't work, she showed police a birth certificate indicating she was the boy's biological mom.

The boy has been placed in state custody, and mom has been charged with child abuse.
