• humans have been tattoing their bodies for thousands of years. . it is not a new thing. and it was NOT originally part of a drug scene to be tatted. . some folks these days get them for succeding against a deadly enemy like cancer. . in fact there are some groups who give breast cancer survivors free tats. the tats are normally placed at the spot where the breast cancer was.

Street drugs is illegal only because the government gets no tax pay off it.. A prescription addict is just the same as a street addict But because she wasn't a prescribed addict she was considered a junkie.......... Get The &^%* out of here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have tattoos and fair share's of addictions not to forget a few run-ins with the law. Does that mean I'm not considered worthy? Am I now stereotyped as useless? Assumptions and opinions is our only way to freedom of speech but facts and reality are the most important things people forget to practice. No one have's any idea what this girl been thru in life and sadly it ended tragically.. It's hard to see the picture if you have no eyes to see.... Addict or not I blame the family for not hearing her cry's For not giving her the attention she need before she found addiction.. If a mother isn't around to feed her child A bystander is left to substitute the milk she can't provide with whatever she haves... So if her mother paid attention to her child. Then her child would have never ran into the first thing she thought felt was right.(The streets) Obviously she was trying to cover up pain from the past...Maybe abuse, Maybe neglect, For the weak minded Drugs is a way to escape from the real world when you have no one to run too.. Rest in peace Jenna You no longer have to deal with selfish and stupid people..Now your free from all the pain and disappointments......

(tattoo abuse resistance education ...keeping kids off tats since 2010) I have several tattoos myself, they're hardly indicators of depression or a "pain-filled life.". For the record not many are blaming police for this girls disappearance and death, most simply criticize the OBVIOUS unprofessional manner in which they handled this case, and many others like it. It's why such victims (prostitutes, or drug addicts, runaways etc) are often called "invisible women"...or invisible victims...because they're invisible to police, and the greater part of society who overlook them. The only offenders I would personally see as good candidates for "turn the other cheek investigative technique" would be the child abusers/rapists/molesters/ those who harm the elderly/ and other such maladaptive types who do nothing but hurt, rape,maim, torture, and kill without conscience or apparent regard for anyone.

Well, they were all real people, with real families, parents, children and problems. Never mock or disregard those who have problems that you don't have -- you may be the next to suddenly find yourself amongst those you despise.

• while it's true that jenna's extracurricular activities potentially are the cause of her death, that doesn't mean that any wayward people deserve to die and be left in an field. i get it that sensible guy is obviously not in touch with modern times and seeing as how basically everyone that's commented feels his assumption about tattoos and people with them is laughable. i wonder if it's ever occurred to him that people without tattoos also get themselves into deep shit? and even if it were a hardcore fact that the tattooed are destined to lead criminal lives, wouldn't the same apply for boob jobs, fake tanning, hair plugs, waxing, etc....and not to mention that things like plastic surgery, which are far more altering than your standard tattoo, are way more invasive and are a clear sign that you aren't happy with god's creation. that's way more insulting to him than a tattoo i'd think. most cultures have been doing some form of tattooing essentially since the dawn of man and i'd venture to say that most of our tattooed ancestors probably didn't have rap sheets. and obviously if it were a fact that tattooed people were bad, then that means there sure are a lot of tattooed catholic priests out there.

• I had a run in with this jerk the other day. Because i have numerous tattoos and i smoke and i drink socially, automatically i'm a drug user, drunk, unfit mother, biker or worst, i'm an excon! God where do these people really come from? he accused me of being depressed and hurting in pain. Said that was the reason i did the tattoos. As a 50 yr old grandmother of 6 (with 2 grown kids, one who was addicted for years, but has been clean for 11 yrs)who is active in city politics, runs a cat shelter out of my converted garage,enjoys my friends and dancing, and works my butt off, he is threaten by me. I am NOT sorry, i'm not a lonely old lady with no life with a housefull of cats (ha-ha, didn't see that one!) I'm not weak nor am i frail. I am not from my grandmothers generation. I lead a active life. And i'm independent. This guy needs to come into the 2000's. This isn't the 40's, 50's or even the 60's. Drugs are a addiction. And they can control your life. But it' a choice the person has choosen. And the same person must make the final decision as to what they want the rest of their lives to be. This guy is probable a old loney (oops, meant lonely) man. Bet he has a bunch of tats himself. And he reminds me of the soapbox prechers i heard as a youth. they preached all the time on the streets.. But hardly anyone listens. I don't need a preacher to tell me my life suxs. I have tattoos, but I'm also a forensic psychology major, and as I enter the professional field I know I'm going to have to contend with a lot of retarded, backwards thinking cops who probably won't listen to me because of stereotypes leftover from the first half of the 20th century about what "kind" of person someone is. You should never underestimate a family's intuition, if they feel like something truly is out of character for their daughter, even if she's just a throwaway junkie to simple-minded people like "Sensible Guy," then it may well be. Is it too much to ask cops to take that into consideration when investigating the disappearance of a young mother?

Because a have a heart with my children's names in it tattooed on my back, I'm obviously troubled? Whether she was a current addict, or a recovering addict, when someone goes missing it's the job of the police to search for her. To automatically assume that she is on a binge is just plain wrong. She could've been in trouble and a proper search could've saved her life. What if that was the case? What if she had been kidnapped, should no one care to search because it's just some addict? She was a mother, a daughter, a human. She deserved to be searched for.
