• Alexa, I think that's a fundamental difference between myself and a lot of other people who are concerned about these types of crimes in our society. If I felt confident in our judicial system's complete objectivity, I actually wouldn't mind seeing child rapists, rapists, and murderers executed, but I have zero desire to see or know of them being slowly killed. I just want them to disappear efficiently, it's not a vengence thing at all for me. It's all way barbaric to contemplate, and I think it lowers us to the level of the criminal to get so excited about the thought of their torture. If that's what you call "fun" i.e. the parade I'm supposedly raining on, I'm just on a totally different page than that. To me, just the fact that you can make a statement like "all we have left to relieve the agony...is to fantasize what we would like to do to them" raises a flag and speaks volumes to me about how this perspective almost seems equal parts vengence and sadism on the part of the person espousing that we should be able to do anything to them other than remove them from society. It's like, I basically feel like it's an excuse to vent already existing sadistic urges. I feel it's almost a sublimation of urges, that you're actually in a sense identifying with the sadism of the people you're fantasizing about torturing but don't even realize you're doing it.

• I cannot imagine a mother 'training' her 12 year old daughter for this lifestyle. Violent sex with men? At such a young age! My God! Agreed that mother should've received more time.

• This is nauseating. If two people deserved to be put to death, it's the mother and Barkau. Fortunately, Missouri does have the death penalty. Unfortunately, this case does not qualify. I agree with the suggestion at the original post of this story: the mother's crotch should be blow-torched, allowed to heal, and then blow-torched again. For the rest of her natural life. Barkau should suffer the exact same, while forced to suck the canker covered penises of the fattest, greasiest and smelliest convicts in his new neighborhood. For all time to come.

• yes it does seem unbelievable that a woman would allow this to happen to her child-but we have to consider how selfish the world has become-for some it's all about "what's in it for me?" or "how can I get off the hook for what I've done?" it's regodamndiculous
