Andre Davis is not the kind of guy you'd want for a son-in-law. He's been arrested more than 50 times for such chickenshit crimes as violating protection orders, assault and harassment. But the New York courts keep releasing him to stalk again...

When he was released from prison on June 9, he expected to come home to his wife Erica Reed and their 8-year-old daughter. But during his time in the slam, Reed discovered he'd been having affairs, so she put his stuff in the garage and told him he wasn't welcome anymore.

Davis, naturally, didn't like his wife's change in plans. He stopped by Erica's house every day, claiming he was there to see his daughter. A week after he was released, her knocked her to the ground and punched her in the face. Davis was arrested for assault and harassment, but was released within hours -- despite violating parole.

Erica got a protection order, but Davis violated it the first day, calling her 60 times and threatening to kill her. He also took to hanging out near her Queens home and hiding in the bushes at her work.

A week later, he tracked her down to her mother's house. He stole her cell phone and fled, but was arrested again. He was charged with criminal contempt, possession of stolen property and harassment. But once again, he was released on $5,000 bond.

All told, it would take two arrests, two releases, and 17 days before parole officials finally asked for a warrant for his arrest. But now he's still at-large, and no one knows where he is.

Erica and her husband's ex-girlfriends say they won't sleep until he's back in jail. But even if he is arrested again, there's no guarantee that a judge won't shuffle him onto the street moments after he's caught.
