Crossroads Christian School Fires Teachers for Being Catholic (And Not Christian Enough)

• well they should have fired their own ass because "christians" dont do things like that !!!

• @Diamondgirl9 yes, Catholics ARE christians. thing is, is that many Protestants do not think so. they think that Catholics are Pagans. and they forget the reason Protestants are called Protestants. because they protested on how the religion was heading. all the add-ons that the clergy was doing. and also the fact that the older christian religion was praising a woman for being the Mother of God. if you look at the Protestant Sects. they tend to be misogynistic in the general overall view about women. much more than the Catholic Sects do.

• @Pete Kotz thing is, the owner of that health club was a biblethumper. he considered women to be property of the man as mentioned in the bible. found out about it while my dad was a member of the health club for medical reasons. but not from him. it was in the Star Trib.

• im sorry but why teach in a christian school if your catholic?? also, why fire her now after 14years...very confusing.... CATHOLICS HAVE VERY STRONG TRADITIONS...ahhhhhh believe in one god people..one. thats one god is a jealous god...

• I work for a non profit United Methodist child development center and we have Islamic ladies working in some of the rooms, they are not required to be Christian, they just have to say the blessing with the children or attend chapel once a week with their class. Reading the comments on the article site cracked me up, the Catholics and the Protestants are going at each other like it was Northern Ireland

• Well, if Crossroads is a private Not-For-Profit that accepts no federal or state funding, then unfortunately they can choose to discriminate based on religion if they so chose. Boo on them, but it's perfectly legal. HOWEVER, if they are for Profit, or if they have accepted even a single dime of federal or state funding, then to discriminate based on religion is not only against the law, but means those fired employees should be expecting a windfall of money considering any lawyer in this nation would be willing to take their lawsuit on contingent. Ergo, Crossroads will most likely be no more.

• Sangelia, I was just playin' about the baby thing! I'm a catholic and go to a baptism almost as much getting my oil changed (every three months? or 3,000 miles?) :).

• That is like the Taliban health club, Sangelia. Scary.

• One of the employees fired worked there for 22 years,another one for 14. Now the fact that they don't attend their church is a problem? What a cruel thing to do-and apparently it is not a money problem. The employees who decided to attend their church and accept full body immersion were re-hired. These people claim to be Christians. Going to church every Sunday does not make you a Christian-just like sitting in a garage doesn't make you a car.

• and MOST Protestant sects do NOT do full body baptisms. just a lil water poured on the head. and no, the kid does not hate the parents for that. most are not able to remember being baptised. especially when they are less than a year old. this group sounds like a health club that was in Brooklyn Park at least over a decade ago. the owner insisted that all had to attend a manditory bible verse group at the place. and any woman that worked there. had to have WRITTEN permission from a adult male that was living at the gal's house. as in dad or husband.

• No decent Catholic worth their salt would go for a full water whatever baptism. We only pour water over the heads of sweet little babies while they scream and first learn how to resent their parents. Lol Dick, "Give me cancer now!"
