Darlene & Alan Nevil Shot by 13-Year-Old Boy and His Girlfriend

• I just heard Alan passed away earlier this evening! Its so sad that a CHILD would kill their own parents for such foolish reasons!!!

• Yet, despite ALL of the conjecturing we just don't KNOW what happened exactly or why, we only have two possible suspects as far as I've seen and if they did it then I wonder why, for two young children I can not imagine it is something so simple as teenage angst, despite my own troubled youth I do not think this amounts to something so simple. Then, I can only with-hold my judgment and prays this man lives through this so we can find out what happened, or, at least hear his side of the story(to be more accurate) and that these two are willing to tell the truth if/when they crack. I can only hope. What a tragedy.

• Okay, this is my cousin were talking about. She grew up with me. She was born and rasied in Ohio. Then recently decided to part with her dad, and live with her mom in texas. She always weird quirks to her. I couldn't imagine she would hurt a soul. Inside story is. 1. She wasn't allowed to date, 2. Then she ran away. 3. Parents got mad, sent her to detention home. 4. Seh got back, and she was still dating him. 5. SHE GOT PREGNANT BYE HIM. 6. Still unknown to her mother that she was. 7.She shoots her mother and stepfather. 8. They fund out in jail, told her father about her being pregnant. PS there keeping it if it's not a miscarriage. Thats all you need to know(:

• Usually the names arent released when the perps are hispanic or black. Just like our local paper that lists victims as hispanic and hispanic perps as white.

• Well, if it is Matricide and attempted Patricide, I wonder what Freud would say about this. Unfortunately, because of the juvenile age of the children, it may be a decade before we are publicly made aware what the motives in this murder were.

• JUVENILE COURTS!!!!!COME ON...

• Well, the authorities will not reveal the names of these two minors. They also won't say if either of them is their own child, as they say that would reveal their identities. But a neighbor was interviewed that said this couple lived there with thei teenage daughter. So I guess we can figure out the relationship from that.

• I blame prescription medication...or illicit drugs.

• I don't think there should be an age limit on being tried as an adult, I think that if you're under 15 it should depend on the crime.

• Well Mark, it's not that you're old fashioned, it's probably just the way you think when you hear about a 12-years-old that has a boyfriend. I mean, I don't think they would have the same kind of relationship as adults. Or at least I hope it's just a plain kiddy relationship...

• I looked at Fox channel 4,Dallas/Garland Tx area. Nothing official but Fox is reporting that a neighbor says that that the girl is the victims daughter.

• At first reading I thought perhaps they would be somehow related to the victims. One of those we can't date so we kill a parent/gaurdian over it. But after reading Marks post I am not so sure.Hmmmmm, anxious to hear more details.

• Well, apparently Alan Nevil survived being shot five times, once in the throat, although he is still in listed as in critical condition in intensive care at Baylor University Medical Center. They were able to catch the kids so quickly because he was able to tell police who shot him and his wife when they arrived on the scene. Considering the Garland Police Department spokesperson keeps stating that they cannot reveal the childrens' relationship with the victims makes it sound like there is something more going on here than meets the eye.

• hey Mark I don't think you sound old fashioned-I did not let my 12 year old "date" but she had a "boyfriend" at school. Sounds like this was more than that though. This is disturbing indeed-let's hope it's not another thrill kill.

• I was thinking this was going to be an accidental shooting and was going to go on a tirade about how if you chose to have a firearm in the same household as a child then keep it under lock and key, but obviously you don't shoot someone five times by accident. If this was another Teenage-Thrill-Kill like Alyssa Bustamante, with no other motive other than "to see what it feels like" then I would hope that Texas would reconsider changing the law to allow children under 15 be tried as Adults in the most extreme of Homicide and Murder cases. Although I have to ask, who lets their 12 year old date? (Or am I just beginning to sound old fashioned?)
