Our pair of geniuses apparently aren't big on that professional necessity known as "stealth." They slammed their car doors as they arrived, then rang the door bell. That woke up the unnamed deputy who was sleeping. So he grabbed his gun and called 911.
The mopes then kicked in the door, only to be confronted by an armed cop. So they tried to flee out the back door. But as you can likely assume from their photos, these guys haven't entered any triathlons lately. The deputy managed to nab them both in the backyard without so much as shoot their asses.
The deputy says he's never seen either moron before, so police doubt this was in retaliation to a previous bust. The thinking goes that they're just two drunken morons who didn't do their due diligence before making their burglary selection.
Strom is now charged with attempted burglary and driving while hammered, while Horning is facing attempted burglary. Both are expected to be censored by the Missouri Board of Burglars & Thieves for professional conduct unbecoming. (Special thanks to reader Jude for the tip.)
