Over time, they were able to extort $10,000 from people inhabiting the unnamed dating site. But the jig went sour last October when they tried to con a Florida man.
The man met Zunk on the site, they got friendly, and Zunk suggested they swap nude photos of each other. So the man sent two pictures. That's when Zunk called back, claiming the man had sent his bare naked majesty to Zunk's 11-year-old daughter's cell. Zunk then claimed his wife was upset, and he needed money to change his phone number and cover court costs.
Zunk would continue to pressure the man. He left repeated messages, demanding more money and threatening to call the man's job to let his boss know that he was a perv. By the time it was all over, the man had sent Zunk and Blaze $2,400.
But the man apparently grew tired of the pestering, so he went to the FBI. The couple was finally arraigned in federal court this week on extortion charges. Agents believe they also extorted dating site members from Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri.
