Loni Amber Turner, a 22-year-old beauty school student, met Erin Ross online. They started dating, but Loni broke it off in April. Ross was persistent, however; he wanted her back. They still slept together on occasion, but Loni eventually grew tired of Ross and shoved him away...

Erin Ross followed the degenerate's credo: If he couldn't have Loni, no one else would
So being a degenerate, he decided to stalk her. He'd watch her apartment and show up at her beauty school. He was sending her text messages and videos.

On August 21, she went to South Daytona Beach Police, saying he wouldn't leave her alone. Two days later, she went before Judge William A. Parsons to ask for an injunction against Ross barring him from coming near her. "I am really afraid to come out of the apartment," she wrote in her request.

But Parsons seemed more interested in being Billy Rulebook than protecting a young woman. The judge ruled that she wasn't in danger, despite her obvious fear and clear signs of stalking. He scheduled a hearing for September 3 so she could return with more evidence. Ross was also served a summons ordering him to appear that day. Neither would make it.

On Sunday, Turner was leaving for her job at a nursing home, where she was scheduled to show at 6 a.m. But she never arrived. She was reported missing, and police began searching for both her and Ross.

What they didn't know is that Ross had already checked into a Port Orange, Florida motel the night before. South Daytona police issued a statement saying that "Mr. Ross had also told Ms. Turner that if he could not have her, he would kill her and then take his own life."

Loni's phone was last used at 7:42 a.m. Sunday morning. It was turned off after that. At around 10 p.m. that night, other guests at the motel heard gunshots, but no one bothered to report them.

Hotel staff wouldn't discover their bodies until 10 a.m. the next morning. Both had been shot to death in what appears to be a murder suicide.

Police say they found signs of a struggle. It seems Loni spent her last breaths fighting for her life.
