Mary Colletta was deathly afraid of her husband, Christopher Colletta. She filed for a restraining order on July 2, claiming he was an alcoholic who often abused her. He'd headbutted her, shoved her down, and blocked her car to keep her from leaving...

Christopher Colletta had been arrested the day before he murdered his wife, but he was released despite repeatedly violating a restraining order
He'd also ran the ubiquitous insecure, controlling weakling thing: threatening to harm her if she ever tried to leave.

But Mary got the restraining order anyway and filed for divorce. She also installed a new security system in her Hillsboro, Missouri home.

Yet that wouldn't keep hubby away. He constantly called her and seemed to be following her. Then he attacked her again on August 2. Police arrested Christopher, but as you'd expect from an almost worthless restraining order, he was released within hours.

It would take only a day for him to make good on his threats. On Tuesday, Mary was leaving her job at a suburban St. Louis hospital. She'd parked her car on the top floor of the parking garage. At 6 p.m., the mother of two was found stabbed to death by a fellow employee.

Christopher would later turn himself in and admit to the stabbing. He's now charged with first-degree murder.
