• At this point I'm really glad that my dad gave me a freshly sharpened knife for my self-defense. It is small enough that I can keep it in my purse, but also long enough when unfolded to make a scary enough weapon to deter would-be attackers. I am also a farm girl that used to frequently wrestle with my brothers, so I am not afraid of physical self-defense. My dad also showed me which areas of the human body are really sensitive to certain kinds of attacks, like biting the top of the shoulder where it connects to the neck, etc. So I am confident that I would be able to, in MOST situations, defend myself. Thankfully, I'm also a fast runner.

• Statistics have shown that most rapes are committed by someone the victim already knows. Thankfully, this sexual predator wasn't successful and was quickly arrested. Another example why all women should carry at least pepper spray for self defense against an attack.

• Yes alexa, I am a criminal hater. I believe that anyone that abuses a child/animal should be tortured by said child's parents by the method of the parents choosing. In the case of an animal, a lynch mob is ok too. No time limit of course, the torture should take a LOOOONNNNGGGG time. Yes, I know it's not politically correct and I'm sure I'm being judged as a hater and need to be more compassionate blah, blah blah... But some of these people REALLY need to be wiped out of the gene pool, as they never seem to venture from the shallow end. And BTW, I'm a "she" and not a "he"... Reid is my maiden name lol. • @Reid, hi! Welcome and you sure can, the more the merrier. I'm fixin' to tell you how I come up with the names that I do for the richly deserving. Years ago I read an article about a movie star who in his younger days, starving artist days, made some porn flicks. Later as his star was ascending, the porn flick owners were threatening to re-release them, prominently featuring his likeness and name on the packaging. Well, he was so outraged by this craven and gross act of greed at his expense, and the potential harm to his children, when he was interviewed, he called them every noxious name he could invent and still not use a single profanity or vulgarity. I was so impressed, I decided I just had to do the same and it's fun. I think of the most disgusting insect or contagion and pair it up with a bodily fluid of some nature and then compound accordingly. LOL!

• Don't mess with a three year old protecting his mother or you *WILL* be sorry! I remember when I was three I woken up to the sound of my mother crying and screaming in the middle of the night. I jumped out of bed and rushed into my parents' room to find my father on top of my mother. Without hesitation I kicked my father in the balls and screamed as loud as I could "Leave my mommy alone!". After my mother recovered from laughing hysterically and my father recovered from his near-fatal blow, I got my first talk about the Birds and the Bees. Needless to say, however, my parents went out on "dates" an awful lot after that, my father never dared make my mother cry knowing that I would serve him another heftily placed foot in the crotch to defend her, and my father never did sire any children after that either. ;) So, don't underestimate the brevity (or the force) of a three year old boy defending his mom.

• Preetty sad world we are living in when a 3 yr old has to grow up so fast and be a hero to his mommy. Not to many 3 yr old that i know would have even though to grab the broom and hit him. Most would have ran for mommy crying. I hope that this child will forget this mess and going on living a normal life and grow up to be a marine who goes on to be a bad ass cop! We could sure use quite a few of them around now a days. and i'm not talking the idiot cops who think their badge and blue uniform is a power trip! I mean a real cop!
