Robert Tillman is a combat vet who spent 21 years in the Army. In the annals of victims, he does not rank among the easiest prey. He was at a Kansas City car wash on Sunday, preparing to cleanse his motorized transportation. That's when Dominic Anderson showed up...

Robert Tillman busted out the old "Hey, Look Behind You" Trick to disable an armed robber
The 20-year-old dope figured he'd take down Tillman with a little Sunday morning robbery action. So he approached Tillman with a gun, telling him to empty his pockets.

Tillman could only produce a dollar bill, which no doubt pissed off our bad guy. In terms of benefit analysis, a $1 score is rarely worth the risk of a felony robbery pinch. So the flustered Anderson demanded the keys to Tillman's car.

"Sir, I'm not going to give you my keys," Tillman told the assailant. Then he decided to invoke a trick that hasn't proved successful since 1958. "I said, 'Hey, watch out, young man, somebody's behind you!'" Tillman told KMBC-TV. When Anderson turned to look, Tillman charged him.

Tillman flipped him to the ground and they wrestled for the gun. The gun fell and discharged, but neither was hit. Yet Anderson is the kind of guy who needs a gun to be strong, which means he's slightly less tough than a guy named Skippy who bullies the servants at a yacht club.

Tillman got him in a choke hold. At this point Anderson presumably whimpered, but it cannot be confirmed. Another customer ran to Tillman's aid and called 911.

Anderson's been charged with armed criminal action. Tillman, meanwhile, has been found guilty of excessive masculinity and heroism.

It has been said, and so it is written. Robert Tillman, Occupation: Man.
