• I could just as well call you a Mr. The precise meanings within language are fairly subjective in daily use, and so it's really a question of personal interpretation. If you feel that everyone with a Y chromosome should be called "mister", then it is your prerogative to call them that. But really, I fail to see why your claim to "miss" (forgive any false assumptions) is anymore concrete. It's mostly just semantics... What is really unlikeable about the things you say is your attitude itself. These are small, petty issues. Your choice to lace all of your words with contempt and disgust is plenty indicative of the real feelings and reasons behind your comments. Luckily enough, not everyone is against having a morsel of compassion. Keep in mind that a general lack of compassion is why women in history (and in modern developing countries) suffered and suffer such unfortunate treatment... As a little aside, I'm not sure if it makes you uncomfortable, but you very certainly would not always know that the "she" in front of you was in fact born a "he".

Being a real woman DOES entitle me to speak as a real woman. I'm sure the hell not going to let some guy, with or without lipstick, tell me what I as a woman can discuss as a woman. Growing up as a male, for example, means being faced with extreme pressure to perform and to be masculine, whether you feel masculine or not. Look up the suicide statistics by gender, for example. Men are several times more likely to commit suicide than women. All I mean to say by that is that either sex faces many struggles (of course, those struggles are not universally experienced by all members of the sex either, it depends on the context of the individual). At any rate, you can call me or anyone else whatever you want, if you're so inclined to cause issue where there is none. I know that I personally do not ask for nor require your permission or validation to pursue my own happiness.

• The only real objection I have to gay marriage is the unforeseen and unintended consequences of establishment of marriage between two parties not able to naturally procreate. This is territory that could either set off a bunch of IEDs or make nothing but whistling sounds. I dunno', I'm still undecided about it. We registered as domestic partners to protect either of us in the event of either of our deaths. We would be able to get SS at retirement of either of us ect. Which is ok. We just weren't ready for marriage at the time. (still aint!!) anyways, a few years later, a new law was introduced that companies could, if they choose, allow domestic partners to get "family" medical insurance as long as they were registered in their towns. So, as i had started to have health issues i really needed the insurance. So this was a help for us. then a few years back (i think 5-10 yrs ago can't remember exactly when) The same sex marriages started picketing and demanding and such. becuase they couldn't register as domestice partners due to same sex, they couldn't get the medical benefits and the "perks" (that's them saying perks) So Mass decided, for whatever reasoning, to allow the same sex marriages! hence medical and perks for them now. Well, what Boston didn't TELL everyone else, was all domestic partnerships were no longer valid and all were dissolved. something about they couldn't have people not married getting benefits that "married people" are entitled to. Bunch of crap. I lost my medical insurance and rights to SS in case of death of my partner of 25 yrs. ect ect blah blah blah. So unless we get married (not happening) we have no rights. So we spoke to a lawyer and drew up papers regarding the house, and personal propertie and such. Somethng like a will, but which can't be contested like a will. We still will not recieve SS upon either death, but that's it. Also, as registered partners, i actually had the option, if we divided, to sue for Palimony. Don't have that right any longer. I can still try, and with the years we have, might actually get it depending on why the split. But i'm not guarnteed it. Sorry. Didn't realize this long.

• For those who do not know: SEX and GENDER are two different things. Sex implied male (XY) and female (XX). But Gender implies man/woman or girl/boy. Someone can be born a male (XY chromosome) and live as a woman and vice-versa. Regardless as to what you think they look like, it is appropriate and polite to refer to the said person as whatever gender they appear to be living as.
