College is where you meet the people that will shape your future. So the 20-year old Benjamin Levanduski probably saw 29-year-old Bradley Dodd as the guy who could teach him the secrets of Boone's Farm and Dunkin's donuts dumping times. After finishing the year at Evergreen State College in Washington (nearly $17K in out-of-state tuition), Levanduski chose to economize by riding the rails home to New Jersey.
The train came to a stop in Grand Junction, Colorado, where Levanduski and his new friend decided to have some fun, homeless bum style. They discovered the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens, where they went on a several thousand dollar vandalism spree in the Garden's castle, which is generally used for children's birthday parties.
The dynamic duo kicked in the castle door like Lethal Weapon's Murtaugh and Riggs running roughshod through Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven. They smeared the castle's art supplies across the floor, walls and drapes, then left a smelly calling card outside the castle walls. They were arrested when police spotted them the next morning waving lit signal flares they'd stolen from the train, leading authorities directly to their rambling wreck.
Levanduski pleaded guilty and was given four years probation, forced to do 75 hours community service, and split restitution with Dodd, who also pleaded guilty and will be sentenced in October.

Parents always think it's cute when their kids imitate them, and 19-year old Rachel Stieringer obviously got a kick out of it when her 11-month year old son tried to bogart the bong. Perhaps Stieringer was stoned, because she thought it so funny that she posted it on her Facebook, where the picture eventually found its way to authorities in Keystone Heights, Florida.
Drug testing vindicated Stieringer's claims she'd never gotten her child high. Clearly his little hands are too small to hold the lighter. Though judging from the way he's sticking his finger in the bowl, this future Spicoli's figured out where the good stuff goes.
Stieringer was charged with one count of possession of drug paraphanalia, and has already enrolled in parenting and drug counseling classes. Meanwhile her son's investigating if diaper-rash is grounds enough for a medical marijuana card.

Ronald "Boobie" McIntyre's seen too many action films. But he's more boob than stunt man, as evidenced when he leapt three flights from the window of a Chicago apartment building in an attempt to avoid $5,979.66 of court-ordered child support.
The 35 year-old McIntyre's no stranger to law enforcement. He's been arrested 14 times, accumulating more than 80 criminal convictions (aside from this warrant), including 21 assaults, 39 instances of obstructing justice, and 20 incidents of invasion of privacy.
When Cook County Sheriff's Deputies knocked on the door of the North Chicago woman's house that McIntyre was visiting, he went to the window and jumped onto what looked like grass three floors below. It was, in fact, artificial turf covering concrete. (Ouch!) The woman invited the cops in, but they searched the apartment and couldn't find McIntyre.
However, the woman's child apparently had an inkling what a douchebag McIntyre was, because he pointed toward the window. The cops looked out and saw McIntyre below, with two broken legs and other internal injuries, attempting to drag himself away. Suffice to say, he didn't get far. He's free, but rather immobilized, while he awaits his court date.

Jose Sanchez got out of jail in January of last year, after serving 12 years for sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13. The 58-year old Muskegon, Michigan man had presumably learned to stay away from children.
Instead he sought out companionship that while similarly easy to overpower, wouldn't be as likely to blab to the police. After all, a dog is a man's best friend, and sometimes a man has needs. We doubt this is what ACDC had in mind when they sang, "Givin' the Dog a Bone," though Sanchez decided to demonstrate that there's more than one way to do it doggy style.
Overcome with guilt, Sanchez confessed the incident to his parole officer who -- after he finished retching -- reported it to the police. The traumatized pit bull was placed in protective custody, and can no longer bear to watch Turner & Hooch. Sanchez could face more than a decade back in prison. Some people just aren't cut out for life on the outside.

Douglas Perlitz wasn't interested in sexual tourism -- he wanted to do it one better by opening his own personal sex resort for young black boys, covering his degeneracy under the cloak of benevolence.
The 40-year-old Perlitz founded Project Pierre Toussaint in 1997, opening up two residences in Cap-Haitien for homeless Haitian boys and a third for U.S. volunteers. More than $2 million in donations was collected by Perlitz's charity, The Haitian Fund, between 1997 and 2008, before the abuse allegations became public and the charity closed. Prosecutors have suggested that Perlitz, who had exclusive control of the money, may have engaged in accounting irregularities.
But that's the least of his offenses. Perlitz is alleged to have sexually abused at least 8 and as many 29 underage boys from 1999 to 2008. Perlitz would ensure their concession by threatening to withhold food or even expel the boys should they spurn his advances. Volunteers and staff were apparently suspicious about Perlitz's behavior (such as taking boys back to his residence), but were scared to come forward because of Perlitz's threats and the difficult economic conditions in Haiti (where unemployment nears 85%).
The school developed a strong humanitarian reputation for how it helped orphaned boys with food, shelter and education, but it developed another reputation as well. Graffiti on the tall concrete walls around the school told what happened to boys that went home with Perlitz. Each time the staff would paint over it, the graffiti would return. Eventually an investigative reporter in Haiti heard the rumors and dug into the story. It was followed by a United Nations investigation and then the U.S. Justice Department got involved.
In September of 2009, Perlitz was arrested and his laptop was found to contain graphic sexual images featuring black children. He's been held in jail since. Though Perlitz is suspected to have bribed some of the school's students to assure their silence, last week he pleaded guilty to engaging in illicit sexual conduct with 8 boys, which could carry a sentence of up to 30 years in prison.
One suspects Perlitz will be the recipient of poetic justice while incarcerated, as he'll learn what it's like to curry favor of those who hold your life in their hands. But even then it won't equal the depravity of what Perlitz did to those young orphans who've already known so much pain and misfortune, only to be abused by those who would set themselves up as their savior.
