UPDATE: According to her former roommate, Trudie Hall was getting paid to marry foreigners so they could obtain U.S. citizenship. She may have wed up to three men at once without divorcing any of them. But there's been no link between her scam and her disappearance. See update after the jump...

23-year-old Trudie Hall had recently graduated from college in Florida and was about to launch a career in business. She'd returned to Nantucket, Massachusetts, where she grew up, and called her mother last Tuesday to say she was going to the movies.

Her mother, Vivienne Walker, says the two constantly kept in touch by phone and text. But by Wednesday, Trudie wasn't responding to either. That evening mom called police to say her daughter, who's pregnant, was missing, according to the Cape Cod Times.

Trudie neither smoked nor drank, and had no history of disappearing on her own, says mom. But by Friday, police had found the rental car she'd been driving. There was blood on the interior.

Trudie Hall appears to have been married to two men at the same time. She was supposed to meet with a divorce lawyer the day after she disappeared.
Despite exhaustive searches of the nearby woods -- complete with canine units and helicopters -- detectives have found no sign of Trudie. Though mom and daughter are close, Vivienne says she doesn't know who the father of her unborn grandchildren is.

Police are saying almost nothing about the case, and are still treating it as a missing persons affair. But one person interviewed by detectives say the cops already believe Trudie's dead, and that she may have been involved in a dispute, possibly with a boyfriend.

Vivienne asserts that Trudie's friends know something about her disappearance, but have been unwilling to tell police. Yet she hasn't elaborated on why she believes this, and these could just be the words of a pained mother merely grasping anything.

UPDATE: Trudie Hall appears to have been simultaneously married to two men and was pregnant by a third.

At least that's what cops have been able to piece together. She married Doucet McDowe in  April of 2009. Six months later, she married Ram Rimal. What's strange is that her mother Vivienne Walker, who claimed to talk to her daughter every day, didn't know either person. And according to the Cape Cod Times, there's no record of Trudie divorcing either man prior to her disappearance.

Even odder is that she seems to have gotten pregnant by a third man, Quoizel Wilson, who also happens to be married to another woman. The former Marine was once a manager for the Nantucket transit authority before he pleaded guilty in 2009 to stealing $8,000 in fares. Police have already searched Wilson's home for evidence, but are not saying if they've found anything incriminating.

And just to make the entire story even weirder, Trudie disappeared a day before she was supposed to meet with a lawyer to discuss a divorce. We're not sure who she actually planned to divorce, and there's a good chance we'll never know. Her rented SUV was found with blood splatter and spent bullet casings. Police suspect she's been murdered.

Trudie reportedly made $20,000 marrying a man from Nepal so he could obtain U.S. citizenship
UPDATE II: A former roommate says Trudie was marrying foreigners so they could become U.S. citizens.

Records in Massachusetts show she was married to two men at the same time. But her former roommate says there was a third as well, and that Trudie was paid handsomely for her readiness at insta-matrimony.

The roommate, who was interviewed by The Inquirer and Mirror, says Trudie married Nepalese immigrant Ram Rimal in exchange for $20,000. And that was six months after she married Doucet McDowe. The roommate further believes that Trudie married a third man, but doesn't know his name. And to top it all off, she supposedly took money from yet another man, but never went through with the wedding.

All this would explain why her mother never met any of her husbands. But there still doesn't seem to be a link between Trudie's disappearance and her immigration scam. The investigation -- at least for now -- seems more centered on Quoizel Wilson, a married man reputedly to be the father of her unborn child at the time she disappeared.
