• How about this dog walker...mind your business. Instead of letting this man receive his ticket which probably would of set him back only $75, you had to go and be nosey and get your ass beat. I can tell he's a yuppie too because of the breed of dogs he owns. Any self respecting man would own a real dog. People, let the police do their job. Do not interfere and do not take pictures of the officers.

• I forgot to add, once you announce you are a witness to something, the police are supposed to ask you for your name and address. You are legally obligated to provide that info to them. Since the video doesn't show the traffic stop, it doesn't show if the driver in fact got the man's name and address.

• Oh, there is more video after the newscast portion! However, there is still no audio and it is not a complete recording because it does not show the original traffic stop. This bonehead wasn't arrested for interfering with the traffic stop of the other person. He was arrested for attempting to take a picture of the cop or a video of the cop he was arguing with. It appears to me that he is being told to move along, that yes, they heard his opinion of the traffic stop, whatever, now go on about your business. He then kinda' acts like he's going to leave, with attitude, and then, a crummy idea occurs to him. He pulls out his cellphone and acts like he wants to take a picture of the motorcycle cop. The cop doesn't want his picture taken and so he puts up the papers to block the shot. Which makes me want to ask if anyone knows if Colorado has a law or ordinance prohibiting the recording of police on duty? If so, then the cop was within the law to stop the recording and arrest the guy. If not, then I'm wondering what else was said. So now the cops are trying to arrest the man and the guy fights them. Which is where he made a bad situation worse. It is entirely possible that had he apologized, promised to not attempt to record the cops, and merely asked for their names (on their shirts), they would have uncuffed him and let him go. But no. He resists arrest. I don't care if you're totally sure you don't deserve to be arrested, fighting the police during the arrest makes it worse for you, regardless. Don't be stupid. And then, Mr Has the Right to Remain Silent But Not the Capability kept running his mouth and then tried AGAIN to pull out his phone out of his pocket. The motorcycle cop wasn't going to let the guy try that again, and that is when he tried to grab the phone. The guy again fought the cop. Of course, the cop won. The shorter cop did make sure the dogs were not allowed to run loose once the guy stopped fighting them and was cuffed. Had the guy thought of his dogs first, and not resisted, he never would have lost hold of their leashes. I feel sorry for the little doggies. They clearly wanted to protect their human but they could see that the cops were much too big and not afraid of them. The guy was given plenty of chances to just walk away. But no, he just had to take a portrait of the cop.

• They didn't beat him, they gave him an order and he didn't follow it. So they tried to detain him, and he resisted, so the used more force than they would have if he cooperated.

• I am not shocked. Police abuse their power on a daily basis. My uncle is a state trooper, and I hope that he would never abuse his badge and act so savegely. Sue thos s.ob.'s! what a disgusting country this is turning into seriously. *about to vomit*

• Alexa,Saint, The unedited video appears at the end and if anything makes the tough guy look even more of an idiot, releasing two excited dogs to run into the traffic and what carnage that could have caused.Hook the leads to the railings? no way I've got ass to kick. It also shows the struggle has ended and the guy is cuffed on the pavement when he decides to go back and Kneel on his skull.Probably thinks everyones is as thick as his own.

• "Internal affairs" is a joke. Police choose a career that gives them authority of average citizens, so they need to be held to higher standards. They do not deserve second chances. Bad cops do indeed cost taxpayers lots of money, which is precisely why they need to be dealt with as harshly as possible. The only time a cop ever even comes close to facing any sort of disciplinary action is if it is captured on video, and even then they usually get away with it. Authoritarian holster sniffers such as Dismas should visit www.injusticeeverywhere.com every once in a while when they start to think cops deserve the benefit of the doubt. By the way--What's up with the S&M boots the more aggressive pig in this video is wearing?

• @WHAT...if it was my kid...it would take more than two out of shape cops to do that. IF they have a HISTORY of similar assaults then yes, fire them...if this is an isolated incident,(which it may be, and the video dosen't show the conversation or what precipitated the attack.) they MAY be reformable, but I think either way they should be fined, demoted, and split up, perhaps given probationary partners to monitor their behaviors for a year...something. ALEXA...you make very valid points, both from a moral perspective, and an economic perspective. That's why I mentioned that an evaluation of their history would help in determining the possibility of repeat incidents. I think its possible there may be more to the story than whats told. The man could have threatened them, spit on them, any number of things that were not indicated on the video. IF NOT, and they simply went off for no reason and started beating him down, I would still stand by my original post IF it was their first offense. Criminals and monsters are given several chances...Cops should be given one to, and shown the benefit of the doubt while given the opportunity to prove themselves by Reforming and being better Civil Servant.

Been a bad month and i hope that it's finally coming to a end!!!! And double Standard.... I agree. These 2 'cops' should be arrested for assult and battery against this bystander! We, as a public, are told to not stand by and watch injustice being done to any one person. Then we are told that if we attempt to aide someone, we can be sued, or arrested for butting in. Which is it? Seems it's a catch 22. I would hope that most people would help in a situation where someone is being harmed. But seeing this video just makes me sick. You see how many cars pasted while this was going on? Looks like not one person stopped or called someone or anything. All they saw were the cops arresting someone. To me that's just being blind. If i had witnessed this sitution, i honestly can say i would have stopped further up or slowed down or turned around and took down all information i could see. Because i can clearly see that this person wasn't doing anything wrong but running his mouth. And when is running your mouth against the law? personal story people (sorry) coming back from a car race late one night. My S/O had 3 young grandchildren sleeping in his car and i had daughter, her husband and youngest in my car. The road was dark (no lights anywhere) and hardly any traffic (we wait so we don't get involved in traffic jams). Anyways, S/O was in front of me and i noticed that a car was merging onto the road (major highway) so S/O started slowing down. Well idiot slowed down as well. so we were deciding to move over or not. As s/o decided to move over (as well as I) a state cop came flying up behind me so fast and almost took my drivers side off! Well, s/o didn't see him either (he had no lights on-bubbles or head) So as s/o started to move over, he hit his blinker just as cop screamed by him, so he had to jerk tothe right, which almost caused him to hit idiot (who suddeningly figured to speed up) So i slammed on his brakes. I slowed down as well. all of a sudden, the cop was there again (not sure where he was hiding) and bubbled my s/o. They pulled over and i stopped as well a little further back. Cop got out of car and stormed back to me. didn't say anything to him, and he jerked open my door and told me that i had 5 seconds to get on the road or he was arresting me for butting in on police business. I tried to explained that it was my s/o and grandbabies up there. He said he didnt care and i could met them someplace on the pike! So i took off. my daughter was freaking out. We got nearer to the pike entrance and i pulled over. Waited. An hour later, i got a call from s/o telling me he was on pike (didn't see him go by) and is waiting for us. We finally got there. He said the cop jerked him out of car in front of kids (who were crying and scared) (s/o is large man) handcuffed him and pulled him to front of car. s/o isn't violent man, or quick temper. But seeing the kids so upset made him mouthy. He told cop exactly what happened. cop said that wasn't true. said he had watched s/o changing lanes with no signal and that he was speeding. Then demanded him take breath test (no one had anything to drink but soda). s/o asked him to remove cuffs because kids were upset. he said no. he then walked to passenger side of car, told granddaughter (who was 10) that grandpa was a bad man and might be arrested and the kids would go to foster care. She freaked out more. so the cop told her to shut up or she would be going away! bad bad cop! Anyways, he cited s/o for: changing lanes with no signal; doing 93 miles an hour, driving slightly inpaired, kids not having seal belts (here that's $500 fine per person in car),and attempt of assult on an officer with a dangerous weapon (car) We went to court on this. Granddaughter got up and told judge everything that happened. Judge wasn't happy. he dismissed all charges. removed surcharge on license and insurance. And he filed report of misabuse of power against cop. As we were leaving courthouse, cop caught up with us in parking lot. Told s/o 'he wasn't finished with him'. This cop was an asshole. Seems the idiot who started all this was drunk driving and caused a bad accident further ahead. which was why the cop didn't arrest s/o. And ticketed him only. And none of the charges were valid. This only gave my babies the idea that cops are bad people. Try explaining bad cops to kids who we try and make them know that if they see a cop and there is trouble that's who they suppose to go to. Not an easy feat.

• Angry Grandma, bravo. Nicely done. =) I noticed an edit of the video clip. I'd like to see an entire video clip, unedited, and I'd like to hear the police officer's side of the story. What we're hearing is just the man's side and of course his attorney is going to make him out to be completely innocent, kind, sweet, gentle, pure of heart and soul. I know, I know, how dare I want to know all the facts when this edited video is clearly evidence of police gone mad with power. Fire away cop haters, fire away. Local tv stations are notorious for depicting cops in as poor a light as possible. It drives up their ratings. And it certainly wouldn't be the first time. If the regular citizen like you and me are entitled to be considered innocent until proven guilty, even with video, then so are the cops. I want to know the rest of the story. I doubt we will ever hear their side of the story here, or anywhere. When cities are sued, that means you and I have to pay through our tax dollars. That means you and I have to have our taxes raised. That means you and I have to pay out on ten nuisance suits for every valid suit. That means we're losing money.

• ok. I actually watched this video start to finish. I can't believe what they did to him. I hope he sues the pants off both of them. And also sues the city for the manhandling he got. Not to mention the danger the cops put his dogs in. what if one had been hit by a car? Sure looked as if the little one was slowly making it's way out into the street. Cops like this are a dime a dozen. And unless the general public, who pays their salaries, doesn't put a stop to them, we all will be in danger of 'cop power' and anyone of us could end up like this by stander. SUE THEM!!!!

• The police here are fluff balls compared to those in say Iraq, or Russia, or Mexico, etc. Yeah, they beat his ass, it sucks. They were totally in the wrong, that is for sure. Ironically, it is probably the best thing to ever happen to him, he will be a rich SOB in no time.

• I have nothing but respect for most cops, my dad is a cop, but when I see a video like this and the numerous other videos that show cops acting like assholes when they think no one's watching it makes me lose some respect and harbor negative thoughts.

• Cops being cops... is anyone actually suprised? The only thing of note here is there was a camera rolling. How many "resisting arrest" charges are really police assualts? How many incidents like this before the public and the courts stop weighing the word of a cop over that of a citizen? /there are only two kinds of cops- dirty cops and cops that look the other way for dirty cops.

• @SAINT_DISMAS As a cop you can't go around beating people down. What was so serious that this man deserved a beat down. These cops have just shown that they will use force for no reason. They are unfit to wear a badge. Just think if that was one of your kids. Would you suggest a 1 month suspension without pay, or getting demoted? No you will want them fired. People wonder why alot of people don't like police. Stuff like this happens all the time and isn't reported or headlined. Police think they are above the law, GUESS WHAT THEY AREN'T..

• I think both officers should be demoted to directing traffic, or given 1 month suspensions with no pay, and also have to pay the mans hospital bills. Maybe even go to a police shrink, or mandatory lectures on the use of excessive force. UNLESS one or both officers in question have a recorded history of similar things occurring while on duty. Then they should be let go if they can't shape up.

• It's ironic they kicked his ass because they didn't want him to take a photo,and the whole incident was videotaped for the world to see. These 2 morons just got served some poetic justice.
