When You Kill a Kid Just to See What it Feels Like, You Don't Deserve to Live
![]() |
"If you kill an innocent 9-year-old girl to "see what it feels like", if you rescind that poor girl's right to life, than I'm sorry but you forfeit YOUR OWN right to life.
"Don't waste money/resources on keeping Alyssa Bustamante alive for life in prison. Just eliminate her quickly and efficiently. She'll be one less scum to society.
"Everyone is arguing about reforming her and re-integrating her into society. That may be appropriate for somone incriminated for petty threft or minor drug use. But you have to understand that these efforts take time, money, and resources. Does Alyssa Bustamante really deserve these resources, which mind you, are in VERY short supply?
"I don't know about you but if I have x amount of resources to expend on reforming someone, I'm going to place my bets on the fastest horse, that is, the person with the best prognosis and highest probability of sustained reform and re-integration. Alyssa Bustamante isn't WORTH these efforts. Plain and simple."

In my opinion, I think that if someone is going to kill someone, they can rot in jail. I've seen many comments about 'her forfeiting her life.' Yes, I believe that she did. But let someone who is already a murderer in prison do it. Don't put a label of 'executioner' on someone else. I believe that when someone has killed and then are executed, you have to execute the person who executed the murderer. It's only fair, seeing as how they also took a life. And YES(!!), I know that she 'forfeit' her own life. This is just MY own opinion.
-
There sure seems to be alot of compassion for this killing bitch Alyssa, I just hope everyone that shows compassion for her, shows the same for Elizabeth's parents. They are the true victims along with their daughter.. I'm sorry but as a mother myself, if it were to happen to my child, I wouldn't only want to see the killer dead, I would want to be the one to administer the death penalty..
-
Everyone pleading for clemency on her behalf, fine. Put up or shut up. Become her legal guardian. Let her live with you.
-
It's cute that you think U.S. prisons rehabilitate people. Such objective journalism. I find it funny that if something happens to a 15 year old, that 15 year old is a poor child that's ignorant to the world yet when that 15 year old snuffs someone, you want blood. You're just a vile as this 15 year old. Oh the resources are in short supply because we have ridiculous minimum sentences for meager drug abuse. How logical. If you're going to bitch about wasted resources, I'd start with the war on drugs.
-
It takes quite a bit to scare me, but watching her in the video where she's being questioned gave me the creeps. I personally believe, and some of you may say it's wrong, that "mercy for the guilty is cruelty to the innocent." This girl did not show any hint of remorse at what she did. Like Mark said, we always have lived with monsters, and that fact that she did not feel anything at what she did says to me that she is a monster that is beyond rehabilitation. The Dude is right. By taking anothers right to life, you have forfeited your own. Just my 2 cents...
-
Maybe so, Jason. But just imagine what it's like to physically kill a 9-year-old girl. To anyone normal, this is perhaps the most repulsive act you could ever be forced to do. So whatever you want to label it, she's a very sick fuck. I just can't see where you'd ever want to let her out of prison.
-
The "sociopath" tag gets thrown around way too much by people who don't know WTF they are talking about. Let's leave it up to the professionals, okay? I doubt this girl is a sociopath, but I can guarantee you she has some other form of severe mental disability. I think she's just plain fruitcake crazy.
-
Let's leave the Jesus talk and bible verses out of it for a minute. And religion. Can you HONESTLY say that if someone killed your baby, your child, your brother, sister, etc. to "see what it would feel like," that you'd still believe that murderer should be allowed a chance of redemption and to be shown mercy? I seriously doubt it. If you think that you'd be praying for that person and hoping they'd snap out of it and lead a normal life, you're full of shit. You'd be hoping they would die and maybe experience an ounce of the pain that your loved one did when they were dying at the hands of a monster. To think that 2 wrongs don't make a right in that kind of situation is an idealistic, holier than thou approach that most people don't have the capacity for in a situation like this.
-
I agree with the author. The only reason I don't support the death penalty is because I know it's only given to the peasants. The rich and famous never get executed.
-
I personal;y have mixed feelings about the death penalty but this horrible individual should never see freedom or the light of day ever again. She's 15 which means she knows the difference from right and wrong, there is no excuse in the world that justifies her walking the street freely.
-
Could not agree with you more. That little cunt deserves nothing. i promise you I have had a life harder than hers. i am the ONLY one in my family with out and addiction, the only time I get a sober conversation with my mother is when she has been in jail long enough to come down, I grew up in motels, cars, and homeless shelters and started raising my siblings and cousins at the age of 9. 3 of my sisters still to this day think I am their mother and I've had my share of sexual abuse at the age of 8, 11 and 16. Not to bore anyone or complain, just saying they can not use her shitty parents and depression as a damn excuse. She is a useless thing to this world and we would all sleep better knowing she was out of it.

@Maureen, you did not make me uncomfortable in a way that would make me feel too self-conscious, though I cannot help but feel a greater sense of responsibility to be ever more aware of the impact of my words and beliefs. Again, I thank you and I wish for you a lovely evening. Goodnight and again, you and your kinds words are very appreciated. Slainte! (An Irish toast to your good health--I'm part Irish) and sweet dreams to you. *swig*

alexa kim: You are welcome! I hope I did not make you feel uncomfortable? Honestly, you should seriously persue becoming a "journalist". Really, I find your writing and grammar/punctuation OUTSTANDING! You express yourself VERY well and mature! I don't want to embarrass you but, wanted to point out my observation. I also really enjoy ALL your posts and always agree with your thought process. Have a great night and keep posting your intelligent, thoughtful opinions!
-
*blush* Thank you Maureen, I'm so glad. I am always happy to know when I have perhaps voiced someone's own feelings or opinion on a subject or if I have expressed myself in a way that improves the discourse in some small way. =) Prost! *swig* I'm having a pain free evenink, so, so should youse!
-
Dude and Putz: Totally AGREE! alexa kim: EXCELLENT post! You write VERY well and have excellent grammar. I always enjoy your posts!

@Leah- The 2-year-old boy in England was James Bulger. I will never forget his name because of how horrible the story was. A baby murdered, and his killers get to walk free with new idientities, al paid for by the government. Britian should bring back the gallows at Tyburn, you can't fix a sociopath. It ie exactly the same thing as putting down an antisocial animal.

This girl is a bad seed. She is another person without a conscience and warped sense of thinking. I read her parents were both long time losers which means she probably didn't stand a chance anyway. Add some meds to the mix of fucked up thinking and here you go. Red flags were missed or ignored and what a shame that is. Maybe her Grandparents were so overwhelmed with caring for the kids of their kid, they didn't notice or weren't aware of her weird make-up or trying to shock her little brothers on an electric fence. Probably clueless to her life on the net and what her profiles said. She was a cutter and attempted suicide before. She told people about wanting to kill someone. These are all RED FLAGS. Weird that she was an excellent student and never missed a day of school. There is no excuse for what she did....she even planned it by digging a grave. Nothing will help her in this lifetime. She's too far gone.

Since the Dawn of Humankind we have understood that some of us are Monsters. Early on we distinguished the Monsters from the Misguided by whether one actually had remorse or not. In is understood that in the right circumstances, under the right conditions, each and every one of us is capable of committing horrible atrocities, even murder for example. Some of us might only do it in the Heat of Passion (which is why this is an arguable defense), others might do such in Wartime, while others may only do it to defend themselves or a loved one. However, the vast majority of us would still feel remorse when there is blood on our hands. Those that do not feel remorse we deem "Sociopathic", and they are the Monsters that kill without justification, without feeling, and without regret. When a child murders someone, generally they are going to feel bad about it, even if they don't have a justifiable reason for doing such. We try them as juveniles with the understanding that they can be reformed. However, when a child murders someone for no justifiable reason and feels no remorse, then there can be no hope of reformation, no hope of redemption. Sociopaths are pathological, but not in a way that can be treated or cured. They are irreparably broken. They possess no feelings. They should not be extended sympathy as they are biologically incapable of feeling sympathy for others. Although it would be up to the Clinical Psychologists who are assessing Alyssa Bustamante to determine whether she is Sociopathic, it would certainly appear that she is from what we know about her from the Media. If she is indeed Sociopathic then she needs to be treated in the same way we treat other Sociopaths...tried as an Adult and if found guilty, sentenced to the full extent of the Law.
-
ok i completely believe in an eye for an eye! as for the person who is blaming it on the anti depressants..thats bs!! I was on anti depressants for 5 years and i never wanted to kill someone to see how it felt. Whatever crime you do to another hunman you should have done to you. Thats my personal opinion. There would be less crime if it was that way!!! I PROMISE!

By the by, the death penalty .org site referenced above is a notoriously left wing site. If you are a hard-core lefty, then the site suits you. If you are anywhere else on the political spectrum headed to the right of hard left, then the site is not going to be objective or accurate enough. I strongly recommend that anyone seeking statistics and cold hard facts about the death penalty, that you look far and wide, and never rely on any one site for all your talking points.
-
@Leah, my information about it taking more money the execute an inmate was in reference to The Dude. He seems to be so concerned about how much money and resources she's costing Missouri and I wanted to point out that she'd be costing them much more if they were to just execute her.. Like I said in my post above, I don't want her out either. I mean, it was horrible..
-
Jesus had a capacity for compassion for the criminal because if he was the son of God, then he would have the power to see into the criminal's heart. We're just flabby humans with no such super power. We are at a distinct disadvantage. So since all we can go on is what someone says and does, and how they acted before, during and after the crime, then we must go with what makes sense. When a human displays zero compassion for another, such as in this case, particularly when the victim is a helpless child, then I am certain that extending compassion to the killer will be a waste. That ol' casting pearls before swine or something like it.
-
i really dont think she can b rehabilitated, for gods sake!!she killed a lil girl just to see what it felt like..what kind of "person"does this!i say put her in adult prison until shes ninety....idk about killing her,but do put her in prison unil shes ninety.....
-
We don't waste our time trying to rehabilitate mad dogs by putting them in a kennel for a while do we? She is a danger to society, and would be a danger to prison society. These "mutated maggots" must be eliminated from all society.
-
And for all those quoting the bible here, I believe that Jesus makes a strong case for compassion in the New Testament.
-
Don't blame antidepressants for murderous rage. The murderous rage, just like suicidal tendencies, was there all along. No medication can MAKE you kill. At most, it relieves debilitating depression enough to give those who would otherwise not have the energy, enough of a "jump start" to do what they had in mind. In fact, serotonin reuptake inhibitors supress impulsive behaviors. It is likely that individuals who commit murder while on these medications would likely have done far worse on impulse. I agree with the woman who works in the health insurance field. Drugs are not, and should not be, the answer to everything. But casting a negative light upon a whole class of drugs is wrong. Remember that more often, these drugs are prescribed to those who are already prone to suicide.
-
She meant to kill the 9 yr. old,she planned the murder her self. She destroyed a youg childs life, get real
-
I agree with the dude completely. A sick individual like this one does not deserve rehabilitation. I say give Elizabeth Oltens mother a gun, put Alyssa Bustamante in front of her, and let the mother know what it feels like to exact revenge. FUCK Alyssa Bustamante and fuck those that think she is worthy of anything other than to be put to death in the worst way possible.
-
Hey Nima-guess for some parents it's all about being "inconvenienced" by a less than perfect child. It's sickening really.
-
@Angry Grandma, I agree with you 100% about most of those kids being on medications for no real reason. I work in mental health Insurance and I have had parents ask for psychiatrists because their one-year-old "cries too much" or their ten-year-old is too noisey. The problem is, if you put your child on Ritalin etc, and they become zombies, then the medication is WRONG. But the problem is that the parents want the kids to be zombies, so instead of taking the child back to have the medication adjusted to the individal child the parents will leave it as is, or ask to have higher doses because the child still isn't quiet enough. Anti-depressants etc. can make you suicidal, in high doses. We have had to drop Drs from our panel because children have commitied suicide under their care, the doctors should know better than to subscribe that much medication, but the parents need to shoulder some of the blame, Med Managment visits are only 15 mins long, and in most cases, it is the parent who describes the symptoms and effects of the medication to the doctor, and it is their opnion as to whether they think it is workng for their child. who knows your kid better than you do? I'm not excusing what this kid did, she's a monster no doubt. But I did want to give a little insight in the mental medication from this part of the system.
-
When she's released as "rehabed" & kills again - then you'll change your story.
-
Thanks cw. Stubbornly, those like InfamousCrimes above, continue to miss the point. *sigh*
-
Please don't quote the Bible. It doesn't help your argument one bit. Anti-depressants have been proven to cause homicidal and suicidal tendencies. Once someone is off those drugs they can be a completely different person. The death penalty is state sanctioned murder absolutely.
-
alexa-you said it so well
-
I completely agree with this guy's argument. To the person who says "she's a child, there's still hope for her": is she a child anymore? I don't think so. And what kind of hope is there for someone who kills a younger, innocent child "to see what it would feel like?" There's no hope when the motive is that simple. That's an evil person. Once you have murdered someone, (especially a 9 year old kid) looking at them without compassion as they beg for their life, amd taking it from them, you're not a human anymore. That's an intangible level of evil that is beyond the capacity of humans. If you can look into the eyes of a 9 year old while stabbing them: you are no longer a human fit to walk this earth with the others.
-
I believe 100% in death penalty. No matter the age of the person (loosely used term) who actually commits the sin. and the Bible does say 'an eye for an eye' Why does this piece of garbage think she should be giving any compassion? She STOLE a young child's life. She is a MURDERER. She NEVER gave this child any compassion. She is a criminal and a monster. Why should we, taxpayers, have to support her ass in prison for the rest of her life (or 30 yrs)? This POS knew what she was doing. And i'm not going to believe 'the drugs made me do it' That's bull shit! So because she is a young girl, we (adults) have to offer compassion to her because she has 'mental illness' and the drugs they gave her made her do this? I don't think so and if anyone else does, well i would say go have your head checked. Same thing with the Columbine killers. Both were creeps and killers in the making way before they decided to murder anyone at school. Look at their rap sheets! Especial Harris. He was muffed up before he even met Dylan. And then Dylan towkowed to whatever Harris wanted to do. These garbage piles also knew what they were doing. they had it planned out weeks/months in advance. and even picked the April 19th date as a tribute to Hitler's birthday. Maybe if parents didnt blame a kid's bad behavor on all these different (excuses ?) illnesses - ADHA, Autism, bipolar, and actually put the blame where it should go-- laziness, stupidness, being a idiot, and maybe the parents? I am NOT saying that some kids are ill. Because there are some out there who are. Honestly ill. Of all the kids out there with all these 'mental illnesses' i would say only 40% (if not lower) actually have a real illness. Instead, parents see the bad in their kid and off to the doctors they go. Then the labels come out. And the drugs. And the excuses. Maybe if some of these parents actually spent time with their kids and got multiple opinions on their possible illness, these kids wouldn't be on these mind numbing drugs that are pushed on them because parents don't want to do the job God gave them. Be PARENTS. But no, it's much easier to push drugs down their throats and then when something really bad happens, it's always the drugs fault. I will not give compassion to Allysa or anyother kid who chooses to harm another human being. She had no right what so ever, morally or legally, to proclaim any innocence due to drugs she was taking. She is a killer. Plain and simple. Let her take up her cause with St Peter when she tries to get into heaven. I'm sure he is waiting with a baseball bat and a posse of angels. So when she tries to enter he can slam her to where she truly belongs. She is a worthless cause and i wouldn't want my tax money going to prolong her pitaful life.
-
I am pro-death penalty and for reasons that have nothing to do with scaring others into not committing murder, or with saving money, or with seeking revenge. It has to do with removing a danger, a persistent and demonstrated danger, from the body of our society and for dispensing justice. As another commenter has said at other posts, it is not unlike putting down a rabid dog. You feel sorry for the dog, but for his sake and yours, he must be killed before he kills you. This girl, apparently, as per reports and articles I've read, which are all of two, is remorseless. Literally. Children who kill for the thrill are essentially malformed humans incapable of surviving among other humans. I think Alyssa is very likely such a morally deformed thing that she cannot be trusted around others, ever. When such a creature openly displays her lethality to us, we are utter fools to ignore the announcement and pretend she must, she simply must, be just like any other 15 year old. Clearly, she's not. Denial is not just a river in Egypt. Executing a cold blooded killer is not murder. All killing is not the same, and to those who cannot tell the difference, you will never appreciate the difference so long as you wish to see the world as black and white, no grays allowed. While Dude is quite blunt and high contrast in his commentary, the essential truth is likely that he is right.
-
This girl is totally messed up and committed this horrible crime. Anyone remember the English killer Mary Bell? She killed 2 boys when she was 11 years old "solely for the pleasure and excitement of killing." The jury ruled that Mary had "diminished responsibility" and was not guily of murder (she got manslaughter). She received life in detention but was released at the age of 23. In 1998, she was paid 50,000 pounds for collaborating on a book about her life. In 2003, she got a court order granting her anonymity for life. In 2009, she became a grandmother. I hope Alyssa Bustamante does not get the same chance as Mary Bell did solely because of her age when she committed this crime.
-
Donb't blame Alyssa -- blame those anti-depressanrt drugs she was on. The killers from Columbine were on similar drugs. If anyone needs a reality check, it is your The Dude, how dare you demand one murder in place of another. How does that make anything right? Yoi are disgusting and a candidate for sociopathy.
-
Can't do that. She's a child. There's still hope for her.
-
agreed
-
Go back to the firing squad. 5 bullets $20 bucks. Done!!! I agree that they have forfieted their right to life after needlessly taking another. Just another example of the pussification of america. Kill someone and get 3 hots and a cot for the rest of your life without having to pay a dime. Even the Bible says an Eye for an Eye.
-
While you may think you have it all figured out, I don't really think you know all that much of what you're talking about. Putting one inmate to death costs much, much more than a life sentence without parole. http://www.deathpenalty.org/article.php?id=42 There have been juvenile killers who have been successfully rehabilitated. This may not be the case for this girl seeing as her mental health is definitely questionable. I don't want her getting out anytime soon but I think it's ridiculous to write something up without looking up any facts. She needs to be helped appropriately..
-
@The Dude, I'm with that!! I've said it before too, people would think twice if killing somebody meant giving up their own rights as a human being. Child molesters, killers, rapists....if they are going to act like Humans they don't deserve to have HUMAN RIGHTS. They should be eliminated, I couldn't agree with you more!!!!
-
Just eliminate her quickly and efficiently. She'll be one less scum to society. So by that logic every killer should be executed. This isn't Soviet Russia. As disgusting and sick as the murder was it doesn't mean that she should be put to death. Even if the state the crime was committed in has the death penalty, they will not put this girl to death. Also, you took my posting name.. I'll have to switch mine up.
