She was also forced to write an 800-word essay on how to be respectful.
But police somehow heard about the unusual punishment, and have now charged Caryn with felony count of causing mental harm to a child and a misdemeanor count of child neglect. Also charged was Caryn's boyfriend, Randy Ganther, who knew about the punishment but didn't intervene.
So what do you think, dear reader? There's no mention that Caryn was abusive to her daughter. And when your daughter is a habitual runaway, you're bound to reach for anything you can to keep her out of harm's way. If that means locking her in a laundry room, so be it. As Caryn points out, going to the bathroom in a bucket is no different than how you do it while camping.
Besides, they're from Wisconsin, for chrissakes. If sleeping on the floor is hardship, they should change their name to "California."
