Pill-heads are desperate creatures. But Michael Davis knew his next fix was only as far away as a fellow educator's purse. His larcenous creepiness puts Davis on the perp walk in this week's Weird Teacher Watch...

The 34-year old Palm Bay, Florida 5th grade teacher snuck prescriptions medicines like Percocet and Darvocet, as well as cash totaling not more than $300 from as many as five fellow teachers' purses for the last two years. It's hard to say whether it was more a crime of opportunity or extraordinary stupidity.

The administration of Discover Elementary was alerted to Davis' behavior by the victims, and initiated an investigation. They won't say when it began or how long they spent, but apparently his co-workers weren't willing to endure another year of taking their purses everywhere they went. Davis resigned his $40,000 a year job on Thursday.

However two of his fellow teachers weren't as forgiving as the school's "out of sight, out of mind" policies. They took the matter to the police and pressed charges. Brevard County Sheriff's deputies arrested Davis on Friday, ruining his day off.

Davis apparently made a written confession to the school district that will become evidence for felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and theft. Next time he wants some good narcotics he's going to have to have his teeth removed like the rest of us.
