Weird Teacher Watch: William Rhoads Films & Sexually Abuses Several Children

You never truly know what evil may lurk behind the polite smiling countenance of strangers and acquaintances until it's too late. On the surface, William Rhoads seems an upstanding citizen, but for the last eight years he's molested pre-teen and younger boys, filming his exploits, earning a starring role in this week's Weird Teacher Watch...
The 70-year old Phoenixville, Pennsylvania man was well-known in the Chester County area. For thirty years he coached baseball in the Kimberton Youth Athletic League and was the president for a time. A married father of several full-grown children, Rhoads was a retired mechanical engineer, and had spent 15 years teaching physics at Villa Maria Academy, a Roman Catholic all-girl academy. (Apparently no temptation there.)
Police began investigating Rhoads after the mother of a four-year old told them her son had described a sexual assault. It was followed by an allegation by an 11-year old boy. This boy told the police that Rhoads had filmed his abuse, explaining that he enjoyed watching the videos afterwards (*shudder*). The boy said Rhoads told him that there were two other boys he'd abused, one 15 and another 10. (It sounds like he wanted to be caught.)
When interviewed by the cops, the (now) 15-year old told them he'd been abused from 2003 to 2005 until he told Rhoads he didn't want to participate anymore, though the creepy perv still tried to get him to engage in sexually activity again. When they busted into his house last month, they recovered 60 videos of his activity with the victims. He's still in custody under a $5 million bond.
"Unfortunately we can't charge him with the theft of four childhoods," Chester Country District Attorney Patrick Carmody said. Indeed there's no punishment that would do justice to this horrific crime.
