Now at 12 she's not only an honor student she's in all advanced classes (jr High) I raise her for the FUTURE not just to get thru the day. You're either maternal or you are not. • I have 5 children and what I am going through right now makes me love my children even the more. How could any mother any one who can possible say that they are human allow something like this to happen to their child. Could you imagine how many times I have gone up to the schools because the teachers wouldn't let one of my kids go to the restroom and they had an accident. • @Layla: I am so sorry for that. I have a couple of friends who have been through the same. It took some time, but they do have children. Some adopted, some spent a lot of time and money on medical treatments. It is a rotten shame that a young child is abused when so many loving people cannot have the child in their home they would so desperately like to love and nurture. An ex-boyfriend of mine is uncle to two little girls adopted only 5 months apart. One is white and the other is black. The entire family is absolutely CRAZY for those two little girls. I don't think I will ever have a child biologically either, but at some point I would love to adopt. If you want to raise a baby, it won't matter if it comes from your body or not. Hang in there, you can have a child to love, you just may have that child enter your life in a different kind of way.

The father is actually my ex boyfriend, and I spoke with him yesterday he's going through all the red tape to get custody of LJ as we speak since this incident has occurred. Just an update, the boy's status has improved as of this morning he is now listed in critical condition. Also, the newspaper has had many people calling and writing them since this store made national news asking how they could help LJ with medical expenses and such, Trident United Way has a number people can call to find out information on volunteering and donating to LJ Wright. Just some other information: The 16 year old Varnes, was Wright's boyfriend. The skull fracture was old and had healed from where Varnes had previously hit the baby, which his statement given to police confirmed. • BTW,Shakira the 18 year old mother has a look on her face that looks like she's saying,"It's my kid, I can do what I want and it's no ones business!" She is about to embark on a world that is going to change that attitude.As long as they have her behind bars the story will circulate and she is going to know what her child felt and more. Even if she bonds out she is going to have to be very careful. Like some of you, I want to know why this 18 year old girl (who is concidered grown)is in school and these teens using her baby as a punching bag were not in school. Contributing to the delinquency of minors is another charge she may have have to face, depending on the state law those boys may get a few months in jail and 3 years probation. She might get 5 maybe 10 years, child taken away(Just guessing). I think the punishment should fit the crime and I think it was attempted murder concidering she came home, sat down and watched before stopping them and then waiting to call an ambulance the next day and then saying ,"he looks like he wants to die." More like she wanted him to die. Lock her up and put her in general population and hang a sign on her stating what she allowed those boys to do to her child.
