The crime was committed in 2004 and he was arrested in 2007 on something else..... and "BAM!!" the cop was flipping through mugshots and saw the tatts.... the cop worked on the liquor store case when the man was killed, and put the two together.
I saw the tatt in detail on another thread, and being that the front of the store (with the name above the storefront) was tattooed along w/ everything else, like blood spewing out of the man shot..... I think the only mistake he made was not tattooing "I DID IT" on his forehead. Then no need to take off your shirt to prove to your homies that you are "down" for life with in the gang.

I saw this on the news this morning..This guy had a tattoo of him shooting a man at a liquor store and depicted a helicopter in the sky... I guess this guy's nickname was chopper and so the detective took a closer look at chopper and his tat
