Whatever all you say, you do not pull a gun on your neighbors, especially over a dog. Richter probably could have avoided the situation by going inside the house and calling animal control. I have seen reports that he tied up the dog. If that was the case, the dog was not a threat at the time. You cannot tie up a dog if they are out of control. On the dog owner’s side, the animal should have been contained and in control either by an electric or fixed fence. As a dog owner myself, I do not let my dogs roam the neighborhood and keep them contained. Too many people have guns or access to. Young children, teens and adults are being killed over stupid stuff!
-
But you're missing the point...this picture looks like Colonel Sanders.
-
you sound like the crazy guy who did this . I knew these people first hand and the dog really had nothing to do with it .It wa a long probliem between these familys starting with a burgarly . this pete Richter was a crazy person who thought he was the law and while he was so busy standing up for his rights he stepped on everyones rights around him. just check out his coments on line . next time do a little research before you post youre comments you never know when a family member of the man who was shoot might be on line reading youre uninformed comments.
-
Who knows. The article mentioned the neighbor "charged" Ricter in '01 and '08 - did those go anywhere? It also says that Richter tied-up the dog in his garage. Well, if my neighbor wasn't home and his animal was loose on my property I'd think it a good thing to secure the animal until he arrived. Seems like a neighborly thing to do. I've heard claims that the neighbor chased Richter with sheers - yet there's no mention of that in this article. Any comments on that Zurowski? Maybe someone needs file FOIA for the 911 call. As for Richtor's statement about "Somebody needs to have the law enforced with justice" - what's wrong with that? Seems the "law" is supposed to be about justice. All too often today the "law" does nothing but injustice - peaceful people engaged in activities that have no victim are caged due to those with badges obeying text on paper rather than thinking for themselves and using their conscience. I've never met Richter nor do I claim he's innocent of wrongdoing. But I do know that it's damn easy to vilify people without having all the facts.
-
LMAO.
-
Someone really should have patented it. Now we have an insult-ownership battle royale a brewin'
-
As well as me - fucktard has been in my vocabulary for many, many years. Not sure what that says about me - but there are a lot of fucktards out there so that explains most of it.
-
Fucktard is MiNe. I've been calling people that for years. No idea where I got it from so I'm gonna say i invented it. Since I invented it then you stole it from ME! Muahahah! :O
-
so you actually witnessed this?
-
This isn't CNN. This is where we make light of everyday crime in an effort to make the world seem not quite as bad as it is. Also, you may want to check out this cool new tv show called 'CSI'. It's all about this newfangled idea that you can get evidence off a dead or injured body that shows what happened to it prior to death. I'm thinking imprints of the butt of a gun in the neighbours forehead may be some clue as to whether somebody pistol whipped the guy. Hmm, just re-read that and have to add: don't take me too seriously. I'm not trying to gun you down (pun not intended, but noticed, and so it's staying! : ). You're very civil in your post and i can only wish i'd be grown up enough one day to be the same ;)
-
Cory, You may want to check your 'facts' about "Pete Richter, 56, stood over his victim and proceeded to pistol-whip the fallen man." Only three possible witnesses to that. Pete, his wife Barbara, and Mark. All reports I have heard say that Mark never regained consciousness or spoke to anybody after making it back onto his property. Not exactly sure why Pete or his wife would admit to "pistol-whip". Is this fact obtained from a police report? An EMT person who was on scene? The Dog? If this 'fact' is true please support it. Otherwise you are about to incite a riot here on Kent Island. Also, calling Pete crazy in every news account just gives the defense attorney more fuel for fire. Pete Richter appeared to be as sane as anybody else. Other adjectives could be used to describe his behaviors, but IMHO, insane is not a good one unless there is evidence that I am unaware of. Tyr to be a more responsible reporter.
-
I know the family and the dog, both are kind and loving. This is a story about a crazy neighbor who harassed everyone and got away with it for years then finally did something unimaginable. now the world has lost a great man, a wife has lost her loving husband, and 2 sons have lost their father. PS, there was no evidence that he was "pistol whipped"
-
Considering how well-connected this guy is, I wouldn't be shocked if he got off. "If" this case makes it to trial? That's telling. You don't even think murder should go to trial?
-
I Repeat. That is not what happened. If the case makes its way to a trial you can then find out the real facts. And he will be found innocent.
-
So you shoot someone in the BACK in "self-defense" and then pistol-whip them as they lie dying on the ground? Try again.
-
That is not what happened. The younger man,who was drunk and mad at the older man, went into the old guys garage and attacked him. It's a simple case of a man protecting himself in his own home. Nice try Cory Zurowski, but just wait until the real proof comes out in court. Come on Corey, what is your real name?
-
The dog didn't seriously hurt anyone. He just barely broke skin,so i figure the 3 strikes is best.
-
Can't blame you there. It would be so hard to do that to a child. But the 3 strikes thing sounds like a good plan.I just hope something even worse does not happen before you get there :)
-
I know, your right I should have but her little girl loves this dog and I didn't want to see him put down. So I figured when she saw that I put mine on a runner, she would do the same, but she didn't. So now I'm going with the 3 strikes your out.
-
I too, think the neighbors needed to better restrain their animal. His anger MIGHT have made more sense if he was losing chickens or sheep to the dog on a regular basis. Okay, that being said? His overreaction was ridiculous. There's LOTS of ways to make a dog not want to go on your property again- most of them non-lethal. If he could catch the dog and tie it up, he could have shot it with rock salt. Or he could have called animal control and filed a complaint. Some Animal control offices charge a hefty fee for the owner to reclaim their strays. Just a stupid, crying shame. Sounds like a pissing contest really. Too guys playing Mr. Macho-badass and both being idiots. Now their families will both lose.
-
WOW ...ok
-
Richter should have shot himself, that would have worked out better for everyone else and then he would be out of his own misery.
-
Well I guess I can't blame you for that
-
It's what I do!
-
Now you're just arguing to argue. You're on a timeout. Bad girl!
-
Fair enough. I happen to think it's funny but whatever
-
I said something about your pic when you first got here, how disturbing it was... but no matter
-
So b/c you don't understand the third person "you," I"M supposed to modify my behavior? idon'tthinkso.
-
I am telling you that if you don't want me to think you're addressing me then dont reply to me. If you do, then do exactly that. Common sense dipshit. Talking to you is like asking a fat girl to exercise. You simply fail at life homo-fag
-
What are you, the TCR police, telling me where I can reply? Just a tad full of ourselves, aren't we? And yes, this time I mean you. Fucktard I stole a long time ago, from one of the non-troll regulars. If you're her w/ a different name, then thanks!
-
yeah, I'm pretty cold-hearted, and also could see where the husband and wife were definitely stirring the shit .... but hearing that 911 tape was horrific.
-
Then do not reply to me if you are not addressing me. Perhaps you should work on your comenting skills suck stick. BTW. Why you gotta steal "fucktard" from me?
-
Oh my god. Can you please just leave me alone? You can point all you want to darlin but I'm not going anywhere. Sure I'm a troll. Does that make you feel better now? I don't care if everyone on here thinks I'm a troll, I mean, it is what it is. Call me whatever you want. And my profile pic. Now you're attacking that? what is wrong with you? It's funny in an "oh no he didnt" way. Not in an offensive way. What's up with you're death stare in your profile pic?
-
I was referring to the guy in the story, fucktard. Might want to work on your reading comprehension skills.
-
Now I will let it be. Just wanted to point you out for future note. I mean whats up with your profile pic, if you aren't trying to draw attention to you and what you post? Well it got my attention. But I am moving on.
-
Found it. Dateline: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31112998/ns/dateline_nbc-crime_reports/
-
Now I said I would kill someone over it? What the fuck are you even talking about? I never said anything like that. Jesus read my posts before you start claiming random crazy shit. Jesus fucking christ you're an idiot.
-
I'm guessing that if you're such a crazy motherfucker that you'll fucking KILL someone over this (especially since it sounds like the shooter lured the neighbor over there for that express purpose), most of your complaints probably are not legitimate. Unfucking believable.
-
Somtimes I get in different moods. This morning I am hung over. Tomorrow perhaps I'll go back to expressing my disgust and discussing clever ways to kill criminals like everyone else. If you disagree with what I say then you do not need to comment on it...simply move on and let me have my words. That is what a comment section is for. I don't agree with everything you say, but I also don't point it out to you. Thanks in advance for dropping it.
-
I agree I didnt think about the months or years apart aspect.
-
Then don't listen to me and move on. If I want followers I'll go to twitter
-
It sounds like these are isolated incidents happening months or years apart. Sometimes dogs break out of fences and restraints. It happens. This guy could easily just call the neighbor, or if he feels threatened kick or shoot the dog, but I don't think anyone feels he handled this one well.
-
Yes it was. He was such a shmuck this guy....Blocking the driveway just "waiting" for the reaction, and then he guns them down.
-
You know how you have to get a Background check when you buy a gun?Well that should include Your Doctors reports as well.Anger,Depressed,Suicidal.........=no gun
-
Yep. The 911 recording was horrific.
-
it has to do with some of the things you say that causes me to question, things I've heard before....
-
Wow you should have called them already for the Biting alone :)
-
Thats exactly what they use to say!!!! There is more to it than "difference of opinion" Something familiar about you in general...
-
Nah I'm not trying to troll. Expressing a different opinion isn't really trolling. I'm just sayin: of course this guy was frustrated. Now, Illusions and Cents: did I say anywhere he was right for doing it? If I had, then that mght be considered trolling (or difference of opinion), but I didn't say any of that. So chill out a bit on the finger pointing why don't ya.
-
I agree its just ignorant.
-
Did I say anywhere he was right for doing it? Why the hell would you call me a troll for pointing out that, of course, this guy got beyond frustrated. Sheesh Are you trying to troll me by pointing the finger?
-
yeah I remember that story... so sad
-
Ok First of all Keep your Animals on your own property my god just because your an Animal lover doesn't mean they are.(I am ) But it still pisses me off when people don't take care of theirs with that being said You would think after all the times this guy has been told to keep his dog away and all the shit he has been through That he would show some common Courtesy and keep the dog from going over there. But in no Way did he deserve to be shot dead.Richter Should have just moved Its BS that he would of had to but its not worth taking a mans life even if said man was a rotten Neighbor.
-
Without checking the link I bet it is the one where the husband and wife say I love you to each other before they die on the phone with 911....The guy that shot them had blocked their driveway with a big stone....
-
No a faint trace of that musty old troll smell.
-
ok it's not just me then
-
OMG. This is horrible. This is exactly like the episode I saw on TruTV. A neighborly dispute over the untidiness and a property line. The man killed the husband and wife over nothing. http://www.ksbw.com/trial-of-john-kenney/index.html They're people with really small penises that do this kind of shit.
-
I know the dog is a sweet dog. Its a rottweiler, but she has never hurt a fly.
-
You seem like a new version of the same ole thing? Have you broken through the new systems kinks?
-
Oh, Honey. Were all crazy.. Some of just hide it better than others. LOL!! And ya know that crazy people are the last to know theyre crazy. :D
-
I think I might have a full teaspoon, but I don't get violent, I just have more fun than the folks who think their non-crazies! lol
-
If he was able to tie the dog up in his garage, the dog must not be too uncontrollable. It is not like the dog was going to BITE him or anything. I am sorry for the victim and family of the victim for having to live next to such a jerk for sooooo long! If the shooter had been bitten and was reacting to that, I could ALMOST understand a severe negative reaction. But, this guy is just a a-hole. Getting bit by a dog is a big deal. the last time I was bit (10 years ago) by a neighbors dog, I went into shock rather quickly and almost couldn't walk home two blocks. It was a small bite, so it was weird how my body reacted. I was bitten as a child by a dog who was chained up. This is the same dog who when wandering the neighborhood was my friend. I enjoyed petting him. Chaining up a dog is dangerous for the animal and can make an otherwise friendly animal unfriendly. Anyway, because of my childhood experience I was VERY afraid of dogs for most of my life. So happy to say that I LOVE DOGS so much and I am not afraid anymore.
-
I think everybody has about a 1/2 teaspoon. :D
-
@ drlover, I literally laughed out loud at that. Funny as hell. I got to admit, it gives me ideas for pre-emptive strikes against my neighbours. (In some cases, it's not pre-emptive, just plain getting back at them.)
-
I looked at that picture, and immediatley craved 33 herbs and spices. But really...all those complaints and nobody did anything about it? What's the point of the law? Guess what happens when you ignore legitimate complaints and push a guy to the brink? He takes matters into his own hands and everyone acts shocked. "My god...how could this happen?" Because you dumb fucks ignored him.
-
I don't let my kids shit in my neighbours' yards and I don't want their gawddamn mongrels shitting in my yard. I agree that killing the guy is way too extreme but if you got dogs or teenagers, keep them on short leashes! I'm amazed - and disgusted! - by the assholes who think it's perfectly fine to let their fucking dogs shit all over the place. I can see why the guy got bent out of shape even if I don't agree with him taking it so far. I can tell you if I catch some brainless fuck letting his dog shit on my lawn, it will not go well.
-
lol@ 1 whole cup of crazy!
-
I had a neighbor once who complained about my brother's dog crapping in her yard. Problem was, I used to catch her son shitting in my yard cuz he was too lazy to go home, and too stupid to ask to use my bathroom! When animal control came to tell me about her complaint, I said "Tell her we will control the dog, as soon as she controls her kid!", the ac officer just laughed and said she would convey my message! Never heard another complaint from her!
-
Yeah for me it is about respecting the folks in your area. It isn't worth dying over, and I doubt whatever the dog did was worth somebodies life in this case or those like it.
-
Yeah, from that alone, it seems the guy had a lot of anger management issues. This wasn't just heat of the moment murder, this was outright rage, hatred, uncontrolled murder.
-
You're right, if your dog is wreaking havoc, you need to get the dog under control. Bad pet owners make it bad for the people that try to do the right thing.
-
Yes, Moet, it was that douchebag. I filed a police report about the incident. Nothing else has happened though. I have really been trying to keep my dog away from anyone that doesn't want him around. The problem is, we have foster dogs all the time, and sometimes the foster dogs take up a lot of my time and that's when my dog starts avoiding coming inside. He's such a selfish add, yet so adorable.
-
Even on farms there can be problems.
-
Well Jenn here there is a leash law..that if you are off your property your dog MUST be maintained by leash. (It is also different here from county to county). But that IF your dog breaks loose and bites someone you are still responsible. I understand where you are coming from. When my pit Shy was alive, she knew how to open our latch on a glass/screen door. Which lead from the house to the great outdoors. In the summer this fool would just let her self out. The thing is she never bit anyone. But at the site of her they called it in...in the country, but it was a town I lived in at the time. She was a stunted growth pit bull female. I rescued she was breed to young and it stunted her growth so she only weighed about 45 pounds maybe 50. But still just the fact she was a pit was enough to make them call, But by the time Animal Control got around she was well in the house without incident. I think that it is more respectful to keep your animal under complete control to the best of your abilities. But dogs can be crafty little things, and sometimes it just doesn't matter. They are like Houdini.(sp). In the end of all that though if your dog bites someone you should be held responsible. If he just barks, no big deal either, if he gives chase nipping at all passers-by (wheter an actual bite occurs) it still can be deemed that you didn't control your dog. But just walking around? Who cares about that? Tearing up trash, and stuff in others yards not good either, some owners need better doggy home training skills. :D
-
The whole pistol-whipping thing after shooting the guy (in the back - coward) just makes me cringe. I mean, wow, what a temper!
-
I remember you telling us about the crazy guy, wasn't he the one you caught deliberately trying to wind your dog up, and then telling you he'd shoot your dog in front of your child?
-
wow... he must have been angry about that dog in his yard ya think?
-
I don't know if you guys remember me talking about the paper delivery guy and his problem with my dog. I have often wondered if that man would come shoot us. He seems like he is crazy enough to. It's sad that people are ticking time bombs and other people have to pay the ultimate price for someone else's lack of self control. There are ways to handle a situation without violence. Someone suggested a fence, I agree, fence your own yard if you are too worried that random animals will roam on your property. And we've had animals, not just dogs, but coyotes, rabbits, even horses roaming on our property. Guess what! None of them came into the fenced area! I understand that people should be responsible for their pets. That's just part of owning a pet. However, not every dog needs to be chained up in a yard. I live in the county and our laws do not require dogs to be on leashes if they remain on our property. My Husky/Shepherd mix rarely leaves our yard, and he is rarely on a leash. We have had no problems with him running free for years until the paper guy came along. I try to keep him indoors when I know the guy is on his route (at about 5 a.m.) because I don't want any more trouble, but if animal control and my neighbors haven't had a problem, I don't see the point in keeping him chained when he is outside. And this is my dog that is faster than a speeding bullet and leaps tall fences in a single bound, so keeping him in a fence is not even an option.
-
I had a similar problem. Didn't take 15-years but the idiot tested my resolve and I did my job. In the end, the Pinal County removed the dogs. Or so I understand. No one should let their dog roam free unless it's on a farm. The conclusion to this debacle -- one man looses his life the other should go to jail for life. And in the end, who picks up the pieces
-
Maybe the soothing sounds he puts out with his gee-tar, will calm the inmates that are about to beat him with their "glocks"!!
-
Big of him to call 911. Hope he didn't strain his finger doing that.
-
He took another mans life, over a dog in his yard? Ridiculous. Its no shock to me, that he was "law enforcement".! I'm sure that he will find a Good Hell Bound Attorney to prove that he has about a 1 whole cup of crazy. And he sentence will be LIGHT. Dirty Rat Bastard.
-
I've been having a problem with my neighbor over our dogs, hers bite people on my property, mine eats her chickens. I went out and got a runner for mine, she still lets hers run free. He bites one more person on my property and the dog officer will be called. Hopefully she doesn't shoot be if it comes to be.
-
Holy shit... hope it was worth it, pal. We all know how well-loved (potential) law-enforcers and lawmakers are treated behind bars.
-
With most of the cases I think that the murders are seldom about what they appear to be on the surface. I joke about how these stories end with someone dying over a poptart, a hockey stick, a sneaker, a jacket...etc. But at the root of it is always way more than just whatever proclaimation this asshole makes. I doubt it was a dog that made this guy shoot another unarmed man in the back. I think it is something he wanted to do from jump, than just set his mind to it...Yet guys like this believe in their own Asparagus piss so much, they really believe they are justified. I gaurantee he thinks he is justified in what he did.
-
What a piece of shit. He deserves the death penalty as this was obviously premeditated. If he didn't like that neighbor wait until he meets his new neighbors. And why not, I don't know, build a fence if you are that upset about a wandering dog?!??!?!?
-
This is second degree murder isn't it?
-
bet folks are glad they didn't vote for him now
-
This guy is a complete chicken-shit asshole. I hope they crucify this bastard.
-
He must have thought if he became sheriff he'd be able to outlaw dogs or some crazy-ass shit. Nut-job!
-
What in the hell? Seems this guy had alot of that self entitlement," I am gonna get away with this and piss on your grave!" attitude.. To be so blatant and bold I really think he thought he would walk away on this somehow. What an asshole!!
-
honestly i was happy when i found out he didnt kill the dog. when I saw "dog dispute" in the title i thought someone killed the guys dog, and he shot him in revenge. People do stupid things, and yes his death was unfortunate, but animals are just pure innocence in a furry package.
-
so he shoots him in the back and then pistol whips him..... what a fucking coward ass move
-
Fry his dumb ass... what an asshole...
