But he also claims her parents disapproved. So he took off, and the woman returned to Ireland, where she gave birth to Penny Lawrence 28 years ago.
Penny's mom would die when she was just four. So she went to live with her grandparents. But they died when she was 18.
By the time she reached 27, she became curious about finding her real father. So last year, she tracked Ryan down in Houston. They began talking by phone. Soon, Penny flew to Texas for a visit, and that's where our story gets downright creepy.
Both say they were hit by instant attraction when they met. They began to date. Now Penny is pregnant with their child.
We think we can speak for most dads by saying that anyone who has sexual thoughts about their daughter is surely a degenerate. But the couple is couching their romance is psychology, saying their both afflicted by Genetic Sexual Attraction, a shrink term used to describe relatives who fall in love when they first meet as adults.
They know their relationship is illegal, and they worry that the cops may come a calling. But they also say their unborn baby is healthy after three months, and claim they're victims, not incestuous freaks.
"We are not committing incest, but are victims of GSA," Penny told Irish Central. "We've never experienced a father-daughter relationship, so we're just like any other strangers who meet in adulthood."
Here in the manly heartland of America, we're not really buying that bullshit. But we'd like to know what you think, dearest reader. (Special thanks to reader Lavender for the tip.)

I don't think cops care very much about the incest part. I think they are mostly worried about the child because it is proven that birth defects (psychological and physical) are caused by incest. I don't agree with this because they are selfish bring the child into the world knowing it might go through psychological/emotional pain.
My judgemental side says they are so fucking sick! My wise mind says they are 2 grow adults and eventhough deep inside THEY KNOW its wrong, it is their lives, their relationship, and its their business and thats just talking about them 2, only them... HOWEVER; forming a family?? having someone innocent brought to this world with the risk of physical disabilities, psychological disabilities,, for sure, psychological confusion and emotional pain? thats is just idiotic.. they wanna keep doing each other? go ahead, but no other human has to pay for their "GSA" (i don't buy that bs though)

thats totally wrong and disgusting, she went looking for her dad, did she also plan to have sex with him when she found him? seriously wrong that poor baby.. And to the comment its noones business they have made it everyones knowledge and business it is their own doing. If you know someone is your daughter or father, wheather you know them well or not you know not to have sex with them

That pretty much sums it up. Just knowing you are related to someone ought to be enough to deter this from happening. I am curious as to who made the first move and how it happened though. And why the other couldn't resist.

Ummm...but they ARE FATHER and DAUGHTER!!!...They are NOT JUST LIKE ANY OTHER STRANGERS!!! They have/had PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of being related..so they ARE COMMITTING INCEST! They ARE INCESTUOUS FREAKS!!! ..They SHOULD be ARRESTED, and the baby SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM CUSTODY..LESS, THAT CHILD SUFFER FROM THE HAND OF INCEST AS WELL!!!!!!

Now, first off, to clear this up, I am not condoning anything they did. I do not agree with it, and the baby will suffer majorly, and should not have been born, or conceived this way, but, they are adults, and it really isn't anyone's business.
They never had that father, daughter bond, only thing that links them are their similar genetics.
Do you really think you can turn off how you feel about someone just because their dna structure is similar?
I can see their case and I think its wrong for authorites to interfere in the relationship.
Only concern I have is how the baby would turn out. Im no scientist, but you do hear stories, so I guess all eyes will be on this new born?
if you met someone a family member that you have been looking for, you dont think to have sex with them, sure you hope to love them but not in that way :/
If they stay together and raise their child and the child is healthy, people should mind their own business. It is not for men to judge each other ; God will judge all.

So you would have no problem, if say, your daughter hooked up with your ex and had a baby... it is always easy to judge or not judge if you are not put in that situation.
If incest is so wrong, then what makes homosexuality different? My Christian friend posted this question to me when we were discussing same-sex marriages, him against it and me for it. If we truly believed in the freedom to love, then why shouldn't incest be allowed?

I feel sorry for them... but the knowlege alone would be like pouring a large bucket of ICE WATER on those emotions.... real quick. Really really sick. I feel sorry for them because it's obvious they don't see it the way the rest of us do, and are being treated like freaks because of it. I guess that's not fair to do that...but they really need to change their feelings. That's beyond disgusting.
i hope the child is not a girl...he might as well fall in love with his grandchild...or child....or whatever!!

someone please explain how incest is actually wrong (from a logical point of view, not from a "bible says so" or you've been taught that by society). and then if you still think its wrong, please go kill yourself because the world has enough ignorant idiots and we dont need more.
Sooooo.... all those men/women out there making their daughters/sons have sex with them is ok by you? Because that is not only incest it is also child sexual abuse. Granted these two are in fact adults, but still, if one of your parents, sisters, brothers wanted to have sex with you, you would have no problem and would sleep with them? That in itself, makes me question your own judgement calls about whether ignorant idiots should kill themselves.
I am in no way religious but if you need to be told why incest is wrong then you are the idiot my friend. In this case it is a father and daughter union..they are far too closely related, this can cause many genetic disorders. Its not rocket science, I was under the impression that everybody knew this at least by the age of 12 (thats being generous)
While I think this is gross and downright disturbing because I couldn't picture me doing anything like this, I kind of understand. Sure the majority think it's wrong but there are those who think it isn't. Times change and so do certain points of view. Hundreds of years ago in royalty, sons would marry their mothers when they became king while they were still the queen. Incest has been a big part of our history for a very long time, sad as it may seem. Look at it this way, if you're Christian, what were Adam and Eve's children doing?
You can also see throughout history how the incestuous European marriages caused bloodlines to become mucked up and caused early death in children, mental disabilities and numerous other atrocities.
LONG BUT I HOPE THIS HELPS
Ok, I'm going to try and be neutral although I don't exactly approve of what they did or are doing.1) we can't really control who we fall in love with whether it is a relative or not. So in that way, yes they are victims...2) However, the mind has the capability to put apart right from wrong and to control your actions. In this case, they might be missing the frontal lobe or part of it as their decision making isn't very helpful. To be honest I believe what happened here is just like a child sitting in front of a piece of cake, not allowed to eat it, but can reach it and no parent is there to watch: in this case the child decided to take the risk and go against his parents "orders" or "rules" and ate the cake, hoping he won't get in trouble...3) It is incest because the law prohibits it and the blood is too similar... This time the couple should've tried to follow the law, and not commit this crime (hoping they won't get punished for it) because of course they can love each other and do things together... no one would really know if they keep quiet...
BUT IT'S THE CHILD THAT MATTERS! People could allow relationships between blood related people, there's no harm to that (I personally find it sick, but we all have different tastes or point of views about things). But you cannot allow these people to marry or start a family together! You're babies tend to come out deformed or mentally ill or with some sort of issue... Do you think kids that are like that are happy? Happy to be stared at, judged, treated differently, and worse --> 27/7, 367 days a year?? These kids grow up and have hearts and start thinking for themselves and often get hurt, or hurt themselves, sometimes even blame themselves when YOU ARE TO BLAME!
IN SHORT:Think about your child and what kind of life you want him to have before committing incest!If you'd rather make yourself happy and let your child deal with it as he grows up, you should be castrated right this moment... (sorry to say this)Also try to remember that your child will most probably find out that you are father and daughter... and words spread fast... + you're on the news... and THAT will cause much much trouble to your child as he grows up... sometimes leading to isolation, leading to depression, sometimes leading to death... (this is just one scenario)
