• I go to school at Rider, and to hear that this guy was allowed to post bail was horrible. It's incredibly scary when a man who attempted to abduct a fellow student was allowed to walk around and rent a car to further terrorize my classmates, and friends at TCNJ, Princeton, and Rutgers. If he'd actually hurt this girl, no way he would have been allowed out, but since she managed to get away, he gets to walk around and make me afraid to go to my car(which is parked only yards from where the attack took place). I pray students, particularly women, will be careful when walking, and will hopefully travel in pairs. With any sanity in this world, his bail will be remanded soon, and he'll spend his trial locked up.

• Ah, and i've noticed something else too - the comments in the dashboard don't seem to update. If i've opened it, closed it, then go back into it later - it still only shows the comments from when i first looked at the dashboard - nothing newer. It doesn't bring them up when i do a refresh / F5 either... Just because you know, wouldn't want you to get complacant and think you're all done or anything... ;) *cracks whip* ;)

I do like being able to read in conversations, but then if i've read the story and comments, have to go for a while and then log back in later - it shows all new comments inside the conversations I've already read. So i either have to go through the whole lot again, or i miss out. Have you no leverage over the R&D manager over at Disqus? Can you maybe crash their next party and either ply them with alcohol or stage a bedroom scene with a goat and get pictures? :)

• I have to agree w/ you Leah. At least on the old system, if you checked in after awhile you could pick up where you left off and read everything in order. With this new system and having to scroll up and down to see where someone has added a comment if you wanna be in the loop on everything, it's exhausting. I find myself reading less, commenting less, interested less. :(

• Update, Tony Kadyhrob, is actually Christopher Walken. He and Charlie Sheen seem to have hit rock bottom together.

• I bought mine in 08, having to travel 80 miles a day, I've been pleased with it so far, it is a little small, but has huge trunk space and pretty good leg room. It's not a hybrid, but my harley is the only thing I have that gets better gas mileage. It also has very good pick up on the highway for a 4cylinder

• Leah - good point. Surgery was awful. I wouldn't do it again. I didn't believe you - you were so right - it was really bad - worse than I could have imagine. I recovered faster from a c-section. I went for my 2 week checkup today - 80% healed and looking pretty good so I guess I should behave myself. I might use my next day photo as my avatar for good measure.

• Yeah, I really do hate change, but I'm getting used to the new system and it has features that I like enough to deal with the cons.

• Sam, unfortunately Disqus doesn't provide an option like this. If you have real time updating turned on it will show the latest comments at the top (or bottom, depending on your sort preference) for a set amount of time before rolling them in to the thread that they belong with. It's a trade off for threaded comments. You can either have conversations (which I personally prefer) or you can have a string of comments that you have to try and piece together.

• well thank you all for the help, that really clears up a lot of my issues. I'm sure some of these were addressed in the upgrade post where people listed their problems but i was not sure when exactly that was so did not know when to look. Still not much of a fan, but maybe now i can make more sense of this.

• after the pink bar shows put your curser over the name ie IllusionS and just hold it there w/o clicking. Then it will show 'jump to comment" HIT THAT and it show which comment it's in Ref to. after 3 minutes the thread will up date Hit refresh and the replies are in order. Each indent in reply is in chon. order with in it's indentation so if one reply in out dented it's on a different time line. You kinda have to read them in columns... you'll get used to it. I am and I am quite resistant to any changes ever

• Oh, and in case Pete or Eric sees this - would love a 'sort by most recent' option that shows the comments in chronological order regardless of whether they were original or replies.

• Yeah, i know what you mean. I think i have it sussed now though - read and learn (see, i knew i put that information 'i' up for a reason! :) It will only allow so many replies to replies to one original comment. When you look, every original comment starts completely on the left. Every reply to that comment starts a step to the right, and every reply to that reply starts another step to the right, and so on. So obviously, it can't allow replies to all comments, because otherwise the comments would eventually drop off the right hand side of the page. I haven't counted exactly, but i think the comments that are about 5 steps in stop having the reply option. There is still a way of replying to the comment, if you can find it in your Dashboard. The reply button in there is always active. But it can be a bit tricky to find it in there. As for the sequence - when you load a page, it loads it in chronological order of the original comments, and puts all the replies with the original comment regardless of when the reply was posted. If you then post something in reply to somebody, it posts it in the correct place next to the original comment straightaway. However if you post an original comment yourself, it posts it at the top or bottom of the thread depending on whether you have your comments sorted Oldest first or Newest first. Also, if the real-time updating then tells you that a new comment has posted and you retrieve that comment, it again shows it at the top or bottom of the thread instead of with the original comment. You can see which comment it replies to though, by clicking on the 'in reply to [name]' bit. That pops up a little box with the comment that is being replied to. Phew. What a novel. Maybe i should do something like this for a living... o wait, i do! :)
