• I have a 7 yr old daughter.  From the moment she was born, she became the most important person in my world.  I will never love another person as unconditionally as I do her (unless I have another one.)  I guess that's why I don't understand people like this at all.

I'm guessing you have a problem with the fact that she left the kid alone (PERIOD).  Having been a single parent, and having been left by the baby daddy for another woman when my son was 4 months old, I think it is perfectly reasonable for a mother to get a sitter to have some grown up time to go bowling.  It is NOT ok for her to leave the child alone.  Just because the father is NOT on the scene doesn't make her a tramp or a bad mother, nor does going out on a date.  The fact that she left the kid alone is the problem.
